I noted an idea of making a close combat with area effect for shaking the ground and making a shockwave effect, but a single action just for that? Not cool, everyone with super strenght can do that without any special skill. So instead, I have a new rule to make a special effect with atribute. If speed of 7 can make you walk on water and 10 make gusts, then I see no objection in making that one more official.
SHOCKWAVE EFFECT
Requirement: basic strenght of 5 or more
The character is strong enough to pound the earth so hard, that he can make a small earthquake and shockwave with his own strenght! A typical strategy for someone like Hulk, Luke Cage or Doc Samson, who cant rely on weapons and other powers (like for example: Iron Man, Ms Marvel or Thor), but need to take care of some big group of lackeys.
To make an effect, you need a superstrenght, 5 or more. Then you perform an action and use Strenght to pound the earth with fists, stomp, jump on it or whatever- description doesnt matter. The effect is as follows:
Range: 1 for every 2 stones of strenght used above 4
Example: Area=1 for 5 or 6 stones, Area=2 for 7 or 8 and Area=3 for 9 or 10 stones and so on
Attack value: every 1 above 4
Example: at strenght 5 you can generate 1 stone of effetc, 2 at 6 and 6 at 10).
Every stone of range further the attack drops by 1 stone
Example: 8 stones Shockwave will deal 4 damage in range 1 and 3 damage in range 2
Note- its not a Mastery of Earth, you cant spend more than 1 stone for area and it cant be bigger than stated.
Example: Hulk is sorrounded by a whole army. Instead of taking them one by one, he decided to smash the ground and beat everyone in single blow! He's not enraged, so he has "only" strenght of 10 and uses it fully. For 10 stones he cna generate an earthquake for area of 3 stones (thats 100 yards in every direction) with strenght of 6 stones in range 1, 5 stones in range 2 and 4 stones in range 3. That means, that pretty much any soldier in that area will be damaged, most likely killed or ko'ed. Vehicles may be destroyed or vastly damaged (except tanks maybe), but its not enough to kill a hero or supervillain, after all Hulk never really beaten more than army with this attack
If, however, he's been in his rage, things would be even more devastating and even elite could be knocked down. Except choppers- theyre not on earth, it doesnt affect them.
Another note- by basic Strenght I mean a raw muscle and stricte superstrenght, not Mastery Substitution like Magneto or Jean Grey has. This one requires the arm power (Jean and Magneto have Area Effect after all, and they can try pounding with object for similiar effect If they want to).
Its kinda like Gusts from Super Speed- they arent abusive by no means, but its a comic book RPG we're talking about and its almost as common as Fastball Special. I made this in only few minutes, so it might need some more work to make it more acceptable, but so far I think its enough to make it useful.
