Hello all!
The first campaign I ran for any roleplaying game was based off of the Age of Apocalypse. At the time I only had four comics to work from (the Weapon X series) and maybe three days to try and get some prep done.
As far as the plot for that particular adventure was concerned, it wasn't much, but it was a pretty good first run for someone who had never GMed and I left it quite happy with the game as well as the material. Hopefully the players did also, lol.
I would be in favor of the AoA as a game setting any day! Especially having seen a good portion of the rest of the series, I can vouch for the sheer magnitude of that world and its expansiveness. Not only that, but all you need do for a world map is buy one of the comics. I recall having to create power rankings for the mutants and, with the current Marvel system, that would create an even better touch (ie. each classification of mutant has a number of stones to work with during character creation).
Just for kicks, I might even try a hand at developing some more material on this concept. Any suggestions, thoughts, similar fulfillment experiences or even gripes on the timeline, would be appreciated. Take care and God bless!
