The Green Lantern Ring is far beond gadget of how do I price this thing? (One of my players is going to try to build a Green Lantern type character with all but his basics coming from his ring) I am slightly familiar with GL but not enough to make it with any details.
The things I know: -Essentialy gives mastery of energy, or light or some similar element. -Has Unlimited Manipulation/Creation option -has force blast option -has force field but not automatic -low level flight
umm anything else I am missing, such as other powers, limitations, or things I have wrong.
Any way to get this in around the 30 stone range. of course this is based on the character from the comic not the cartoon. I personaly hate it when people start making up characters from cartoon network. Do not get me wrong I love anime, just not all of it.

Here would be the stats I would give for the ring:
Flight: 2 (3w) Mastery of Light/Energy 6 (12w) - Create/Manipulate any Object (has a greenish glow) - Force Blast, may blind targets Healing Factor (He has recovered from some nasty wounds over the past and he rarely gets tired out.) (based on Dur) Whoever weilds the ring cannot use it to do evil. (-1w)
Cost: 15 for a character with Durability of 3.
NOTE: By using the creation option he can create a force feild.

The ring also lets them survive in a Vacume and Under Water so some sort of life support power would be needed as well.

If the ring has a mastery of anything it would be cosmic power from what I've read, I think him and The Silver Sufer Mention somthing about it when they Square off against each other in Marvel Vs DC, I'd Make the Ring probly somthing to do with mastery of Magic or Sorcery. In the old JLA tune I've seen the lantern Travel time and all kindsa kreepy things that make him just about as powerfull as Superman. Superman even said that him and Hal where the most 2 powerfull members of JLA, and those are big words

Some things you seem to have overlooked aside from self contained lifeform. 1) adding the restriction that it cannot affect anything yellow 2) the need to be recharged from a "green lantern" periodically 3) And the most important if you want to follow the "real" green lanterns faithfully is.... Its strength is based on the willpower of the ringwielder. So a intellegence ability bonus should be added in. Lower the AN and you should be closer. I remembered from my first ed DC Super hero games, that Hal Jordan had a Will score of 26. That is kinda the equivalent to Superman's strength scorewise. This is before he became a god too. Supe could lift a planet and toss it in that game. DjinnKim

Personally, I would price the ring rather high (arbitrarilly, not going strictly off the numbers the book provides). As a GL fanboy, I can say that the ring provides nearly unlimited potential to the wielder. I'd class it near the Phoenix Force if I were pricing it for one of my players.

For all it does, it might make sense to just call it "The GL Force", limit it only to what can be done in the comics (which, I know, isn't much of a limitation), cost it at AN+13, and give it an Intelligence bonus. Hmmm, or better yet, don't give it an AN at all, just let their Intelligence act as their limiting AN, and cost the thing at a flat 30 stones. Can be combined with appropriate Actions (like Concentration), but any Intelligence bonus for the second Action doesn't apply. No Ability bonuses allowed. -Wayne

I like waynes idea about its action number being, GL's Inteligence, and id remember the no effect on yellow, and price it by int + 13 sounds good.
