Holiday retail again has me in its grips. Posting will continue but at a slowed rate, depending on my energy level, but I hope to get a round of updates up in the coming days.

My Christmas gift to myself may be updating a bunch of my games. I'll be working every day up to Christmas Eve, even my aches and pains have aches and pains at this point, but I keep wishing I had more time to work on these. I might also have a new game idea I've been kicking around for the new year...

This Sunday I'll be in my already classic week and a half vacation during Holy Week, visiting the family away from home and all that. As always, I should be still here on a daily basis via phone+laptop, but sometimes connection gets spotty so I could be missing a day or two.

You're all hearing this first ( -ish). Some of you will see more personalized messages tomorrow in games I play in under you.... Or alongside you in. Today I received word that I'm short touring. I arrived in Key West last June, expecting a five year tour. Mixed blessing that advancing is, there's no position for me to fleet up into here. I spoke with my Detailer, and ended up with orders to a large boat out of Alameda, CA.
What's this mean?
1.) For those that didn't know, I'm Active Duty military.
2.) I'm getting the equivalent of a promotion.
3.) The downside-- I'll have 4-6 month patrols with rare access to commercial internet (only during port calls, of which there are 3-4 per patrol... Provided said port call is in a location where wifi is available), followed by 5-6 month periods where I'm stateside before going out. This will be a three year tour. This site, along with my other (rpol) is NOT accessible from the network at work.
4.) This will inevitably mean withdrawing as a player from spectacular games. This was NOT planned, but E7 is a big deal and not to be turned down.
The longest I've gone without MURPG was when I went to bootcamp ten years ago (and proboards deleted my account, hopefully that doesn't happen again). I'm going to be utterly at a loss without daily access to this forum during those 4-5 month patrols.
