I noted that Angel was passed on for the First Class family of RPs on this board. Understandable... what's so fun about flying. Here's my shot at making an Angel that I would enjoy playing. No Archangel (razor wings or healing blood) just plain old Angel.
Name: Warren Worthington III
Age: 18
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Blue
Weight: Uncharacteristically light
Build: Cut and very slim.
Height: Six Feet, 4 inches.
Wingspan 19 feet, 2 inches.
Abilities: (8w2r)
Intelligence: 4
Strength: 2
Agility: 4
Speed: 3
Durability: 3
Actions 11w1r
Advanced Social Skills [As Dance]: 5 (3w)
- Use for Social Skills
- Lying
- Flattery
- Redirecting Responsibility
- Misdirection
Flight: 5 (6w)
- Aerial Maneuvers
- Fly-by/Fly-through Attacks
- Soaring
- Using wings protectively
- Carrying another person
Wing Whip: 2 (2w)
Close Combat: 1 (1r)
- Agility Bonus
Modifiers 18w
Wealth: 5 (3w)
Enhanced Vision: 6 (Telescopic) (2w)
Hollow Skeleton (Makes Warren Lighter allowing for increased agility and other situation modifiers) (1w)
*Soaring/Gliding (+2 to flight) Only after Warren has spent a panel airborne or if Warren begins flying from a high area. (4w)
*Flight Reflexive Dodge (+3) Only When in Flight (3w)
*Wing Toughness (+3) Only wings have this. (3w)
*Flexible Wing Structure [As Flexible Skeleton] (+1) Only applies to wings. (2r)
Bird Senses 1 (1r) Make Warren more sensitive to vibrations and future changes in weather.
Mutant, Non Human Appearance. He does have big wings, after all.
*'wing-' or 'flight-only' options are bought at -1 cost level.
Challenges
Non Human Appearance (-2w) (Big wings, but can be hidden)
Compulsion to stick up for underdog (-3w) Warren genuinely hates his concience, but he has it, and he's not exactly sure where it came from... but it's always REALLY weird when a bunch of people start calling you an Angel and you have no arguement against them.
Mutant (-3w)
Total
38 stones base. That's five in challenges pluse the mutant challenge to make 30. If it were a 40 stone RP, I'd up the wing whip to make him an actual close (and range 2) combat threat and toughen up the wings and up flight one or two. As is, I like the character and he has room to grow, numbers wise.
Persona
Warren is a gift-of-gab rich kid, he loves to charm ladies, he loves to have his way and he finds people, in general, intriguing and entertaining, much of life, to him, has been a game which he has enjoyed playing. This mutant thing has only given him more pieces to play with.
Bio
Born to a stinking rich family, Warren has lived, basically with a silver spoon in his mouth, though he occasionally uses his golden tongue to acquires other precious metals as needed.
At present, Warren is looking to meet new people and acquire new experiences, and Xavier's academy is perfect for that. Besides, his personal tutor isn't that hot anyway.
Summary
I think I could have fun with that. Flight is fun, easy, occasionally useful and the wings are skillful. For whatever reason, they are tougher than Warren himself, which is cool, imho, the image of covering someone protectively with wings is... well... it's a pretty epic image. Also, the idea of slapping someone upside the head with a wing is fun, even if it's not a villain-smashing attack. Climbing high into the air and adding flight + soaring + situation modifier for a dive attack could be fun, but even without open sky, a guy with such versatile wings could have fun.
I also like the idea of having tons of money on hand at any given second as well as being able to talk people into buying the clothes that they have on from you. I would have fun with that both in and out of combat.
Looking over him, one last time, I still question his combat usefulness, but this is one version I believe I would have fun with, even on the Morlock mission, cuz who doesn't want to complain about that?
The thing I'm most pleased about is how the flexible wing structure subtly suggests how he's able to hide his massive wings.
