Wait... but we all know Spider-Man's stats, right? so what are you doing, hypester?
Well, I've got this crazy idea in my head for a Smallville (but not sucky) style Spidey TV show, and after watching the new cartoon Spectacular Spider-man, which is a TON better than I thought it was, and reading some Spider-Man loves Mary Jane... and having this crazy idea for a RP game where each of Spidey's friends is heroic in their own right, well.. that doesn't sound like much fun, so I might as well just make up all the characters myself and post them. And without my books they might not even be accurate.
I think I'll give them some hidden attribute most teens don't posses, but still is relatively plausible. Keep in mind there are 6 cads here... it's long.

MJ Wastson
Real Name: Mary-Jane Hyacinth Watson
TV Trope Position: "The Lancer"
Age: 15

Haunted Present - MJ's home life is a mess. Her father beats her mother, who is only usually able to protect her... this is done while her mother gives her constant guilt trips and responsibility speeches, especially about leaving her brother behind.
Vanity - MJ like to look good, often when other matters should clearly take precedent, ie lethal threats, certain calamity and deep seated personal issues, both hers and others. It's likely a defense mechanism.
Production Notes
This is our "crouching tiger hidden badass"... she seems like a dainty pretty little girl, and she is, she's very much a Queen Bee, and a Libby. She's not a 'nice' person per se... but when the chips are down and there's no other choice, she harnesses all that anger from her home life and y'know, that kind of after-school level karate and actually becomes a threat to a grown man. She's not necessarily a superhero like the current comics version of her (Wiki: Jackpot) but she's pretty intense, when she's in, what the other character refer to as "Killer MJ."
Joanna's done an incredible job with MJ, and you get the feeling that this vapid pretty girl with waning daddy issues is kind of a front, and we like deep characters. We like them a lot. Oh, and the scenes she has with Harry are kickass. We're going to have to milk that next season.

Gwen Stacy
Real Name: Gwenneth Evelyn Stacy
TV Trope Position: "The Smart Guy"

Scared of Opposite Sex - Gwen is totally cripped with guys, a female geek, and it's hard.
Overprotective Dad - She's sheltered for a reason, Captain Stacy knows exactly how hard the real world is, and doesn't want her in any part of it.
Production Notes
Gwen's our smart girl... she knows stuff, she's just a bookworm of the highest order, and she's the stereotypical male geek... but she's a girl. While this doesn't sound all that innovative it's opened up a lot of storytelling options for us... we get to cross those standard outcast issues with a lot of feminine emotion, and insecurity and self doubt, and, well, sometime we wonder how this girl gets up in the morning.
<<but the other kids love her>>
Oh, yeah, the other kids think she's just the best thing since sliced bread. We're waiting til Peter comes out with his genius, and then she gets jealousy and envy on top of that. Oh, and she likes the guy. Kay Panabaker, by the way, is a real life genious, she's a senior in college, right? Yeah, she's 17, so she gives the whole thing some authenticity. She might really like Peter, but, obviously, that's the kind of thing that can REALLY ruin a TV show with such young actors. Ask Brad Pitt and one of his...

Tough Love - Harry is constantly being pushed by his father, pressure he is always under.
Lonely at the Top - Harry has trouble making real friends, as well as trouble trusting them. Everyone is at an emotional arm's distance.
Production Notes
Behold the Golden Child! Harry starts off as this perfect guy, he's got money, he's cool, he reaches out, he's overcome his pushy parents... he's a self made man and he hasn't even graduated. Overtime, we see him get corrupted by the things that happen around him. The start of the series is when he first steps out of his dad's incubator chamber and into the rest of the world, to see what he can really do. As he figures that out, climbing the social ladder in high school will eventually begin to feel small... he's kind of the "With Great Power comes Great Corruption" aesop.
<<But not too quickly>>
No, it's a bit of a slow steady thing, just a little bit each episode, just a nod to his internal struggle, he'll come back for a bit, then he won't be able to resist getting away with something. He gets really good at lying. This is something Hunter has been kicking butt on. He just comes off as so genuine, the reveals are going to be so tasty. Case in point, he's not going to be going insane when/if he becomes the Green Goblin... it's going to be a calculate move... and perhaps not an honest one. It's hard not to center on he, MJ and Gwen, as they're the ones we're most familiar with from the mythos, but trust us, it's a five man band, and without the big guy and the hero, they really don't have much going for them.

Eddie Brock
Real Name: Edward Theodore Brock Jr.
Age: 19
Height: 6'0
TV Trope Position: "The Big Guy"
Occupation: College Student, Pizza Delivery Guy
Persona: Extremely laid back, to a fault. On top of being as blunt and frank as humanly possible, Eddie is kind of the rationalist of the group. He's got less of the adolescent dreaminess, he knows life is rough, and is happy to share it with others.

Orphan - Misses his parents sometimes. They were really good people. Foster homes are pretty hit and miss, though.
Alcoholic - A self proclaimed social drinker can get out of hand sometimes.
Production Notes
The Big guy... I mean, come one... who doesn't love the big guy? Eddie is kind of this outcast in college, and he ends up connecting with these high school kids, though coincidence, and he ends up, in his own way, liking them. Plus, we have someone to put all of our snark in. He's the commentator, and when fists don't work out, Eddie has a gun, and really isn't that hesitant to take life.
We want to build a lot of mystery and menace around this guy, it comes to the point where he's just plain scary, especially after he levels somebody to save MJ's life. It's a bit contrived having THREE future costume guys on the same squad, but that's kind of how Spider-Man's world works... the people closest to him become monsters... and we're definitely going to explore exactly why that is once Venom comes around.

Production Notes
So we got in trouble. There were some people that thought that having a basketball playing thief as our African American cast member was... faulty. <<Racist.>> Yeah, and then I got to thinking... what if we can break that? What if people, even people who fit racial stereotypes, are people... and they have thoughts, and dreams and hopes and... y'know a point of view.
And that's what we're shooting for. We've got Malcolm David Kelley from Lost on board, and this is a kid who is committed to making the world a better place after all that he's been through, just based on where he's from and what he looks like. He works his tail off, and he's taking on the great responsibility without the great power. He's the one who connects with each of the others, like they're his little brothers and sisters, and that's what gives him the strength, and knowledge necessary to bring them together, and unite them when there's things to do.
Of course, his morality is a teency bit off... which leads to some interesting conflicts, and decisions for the rest of the cast. His right and wrong isn't based on the law. This is the source of most of his conflicts, his lack of belief in the law, in both it's correctness and the way it's enforced and carried out.
