As you head up the hill, the laughing stops. The house is silent, but no longer looks as run down as it did earlier. An old Victorian mansion, it stands as a silent sentinel over the landscape. Old, and certainly rotting, it's still beautiful. The door is solid maple, dark red, almost as if blood.

Mitch looks at the others. "Lets not go in here. . . who knows what kind of stuff lives in here?" He steps away hoping the others follow.

Cory shakes his head shrugging. "Well my instincts agree with you, but what else or we gonna do. There's no signal for our phones out here and whoever is here might be able to help. Besides if this mansion is inhabited by some kind of stuff I've got a baseball bat and might be able to distract it long enough for you guys to get out."

Abigail Lory:
During the walk up from the road, Abigail had been keeping her eyes peeled for any signs of the little girl... but she had not had any luck spotting her. It was if the child had disappeared completely! Abigail was not sure where she could have gone, but this house seemed like the only option left.
"C'mon, guys... I doubt anyone lives here. We should just check if that little girl's gone inside. She might have been scared when she heard the crash, and thought she needed to hide? But we can't just leave a poor kid like that all by herself... especially not out here in the middle of nowhere."
Abigail was not normally this outspoken, but she felt quite strongly about this. She was devastated to think that her swerve into Dwayne's car might have scared the poor girl, and frightened her into hiding-out in this creepy place. It was her responsibility to make sure the child was safe.
"Listen... maybe if you don't want to go in there, you could check around the outside? She might be hiding in the backyard or something..."
After offering an alternative suggestion to the others, Abigail stepped up to the front door. She gave it a rather timid knock, before calling inside.
"Uh... hello? Is anyone home? We've come up from the road... there's been an accident. Uh... don't worry, though! Nobody's hurt! We're all OK... but we can't get any phone signals to call for help. And... there was a little girl out on the road. We thought... maybe... that she might have run up here?"
Abigail waited for an answer. If nobody responded, she would knock again and keep calling for the home owner. But if she STILL didn't get a response, she would simply push the door open and peer inside to check if there were any signs that the little girl had been here.

Health 2/2. Energy 8/8.
Social Skills 2: *Call into the creepy house and try to get the home owner to come and talk.
Intelligence 2: *If she doesn't get a response from knocking on the door and calling into the house, Abigail will try to open the door herself. If it's locked or won't open, she'll assume the little girl won't have been able to run inside. But if she can open it, she'll go inside herself and have a quick look around to see if there's any noticeable signs that someone's been there in the last few minutes.

Dwayne Hopkins
Dwayne laughed, feeling better already. Beer was the medicine of the future.
-Whaddya mean, "what kind of stuff lives in here"? It's an old house, so either old folks live in it, nobody does, or rats and other mice and such things live in it. You seen way too many movies, man.
He looks at Abigail and shrugs:
-She's not scared, we all heard her laughing. She probably saw that we were okay, and she decided to play hide and seek with us. Now, I know it's not the best place or time to play hide and seek, but... it's a kid. Kids do not care about time an' place.
He walked to the door and knocked three time.
-Anybody home? We're looking for a girl... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Start H: 3/3 E: 12/12
2 stones into Social Skills (Socialize) to reason the others... it's just an old house, and Dwayne does not believe in the supernatural or stuff like that.

The door creaks open easily. You call inside, but get no answer, but the little girls laugh turns to a scream! Before you can react to this new developement, however, you feel a strong hand throw you inside, crashing to the floor. Getting back to your feet, you see a dusty, disused room, with a piano, dead flowers, and dust you can skate across. Also, a man in a suit is standing before you, a tall, proud man, butler like in his demeanor. He bows, and says, "Mind or body?"

Now a bit confused himself, Dwayne slowly stands to his feet and says:
-Huh... I dunno. It depends, I guess... what was the question?
He shakes his head and asks:
-No, wait. Who are you? And where did that shriek come from? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Start H: 3/3 E: 12/12
3 stones into Close Combat (Brawling), shifted into Defense, as Dwayne's instincts tell him to be on his guard.

Abigail Lory:
Abigail glanced around nervously at her new surroundings, while picking herself up off the floor and brushing some dust and cobwebs from her clothes. She saw the strange man asking them his question, but had no idea what to make of it.
Completely thrown by this bizarre situation, Abigail remained quiet. She stood slightly behind Dwayne when he approached the weird guy, and listened to see how he would react.

Cory stood there wiping himself off for a few seconds before squatting down and grabbing a hold of his duffle bag. He then looks up at the butler like man and gives a quizzical look. Hey look man I don't know what's going on I'm just with these people trying to find this little girl that is somewhere in the area." He says as he looks the man up and down before looking the room over a bit more carefully. ----------------------------- START Health: 3/3 Energy: 9/9

"Interesting choice sire. It's simple. Your choosing what you want to keep. Your mind, or your body. Choose mind, your sanity shall remain intact. Of course, this means you'll never leave this house alive. Choose body, and you'll remain alive, but your sanity will be gone. It's your choice. Don't worry about the girl. The dead require no assistance."
