Batman: Brave and the Bold has really won me over (as opposed to Marvel Superhero Squad, which has some top-notch voice work [some of my favorite voice actors, and Charlie Adler is now the voice I want to hear when I hear Doom,] but so far a bit lacking in terms of storytelling and humor.) It takes thing I usually wouldn't like, like "Hercules-esque Aquaman" or "fighting Gorillas on pterodactyls" or even "ridiculous Batmite stories," and makes it work with the right juxtaposition of tongue-in-cheek Silver Age silliness with top-notch writing.
And this is perhaps the best episode yet. And it secretly makes me want to do a musical issue of the Guardians.

I think they could have done a little bit better with this episode, but still... I loved listening to every bit. XD Songs weren't perfect, but definately worth listening to. And I think this is the first time the end of a cartoon episode had me cheering in a long time (Cheering for what happens at the end, not the fact that it's ending.)

I dunno... Brave & Bold still hasn't really caught me. I watch it because my kids like it, and I love explaining who all the characters are, but there haven't been a lot of episodes that really excited me (the Robin episode is probably really the only one that qualifies).
Is it strange that I basically hate the portrayal of Batman on the show, but still enjoy it for the guest stars, who all seem spot on?

I'll admit it's been hit and miss, but there have been some good ones (the Bat-mite episode [written by Paul Dini!] for one, and anything with Aquaman. OUTRAGEOUS! The fact that this show actually made me like Aquaman is more a testament than anything.)

Loved the Bat-Mite episode. If nothing else, it made a great reference to the 90's series, and the Batman and Robin movie "Too icky" (Seriously.. am I the only one who DIDN'T notice the batsuit nipples in the movie?)
But yeah, the guest stars are the real magic of the series.

I think it's best summed up as: "Batman and Friends; come for Batman, stay for the Friends."

Makes it even more awesome if you realize, that Music Meister was played by Barney and Doogie Howser MD HIMSELF!

Eh, Bat-mite didn't do it for me, but I do think Aquaman is outstanding.
The funny thing is though, this is not the first time Aquaman has been imagined this way. There was a time period when he was a frequent ally but not official member of the Justice League, and he acted pretty much exactly as shown on the cartoon, though a bit less comical (due to the tone of the comics not being as funny overall as the tone of Brave & Bold).
Batman: The Brave and The Bold (the comic) also typically showed Aquaman as someone Batman considered helpful but annoying.

Okay then. So WK, if you would please do the same thing for me that you do for your kids, explain to me who the villains are. Because I can't seem to figure out why a gorilla, an alien looking guy, and a clock-faced git would team up. It's just a little beyond me. Sorry if I insult the show and ruin the vibe for anyone, but the team is just a little off putting for me.

n.n just a random teamup of villians: Gorilla Grodd, Black Manta, and Clock King.

OMG I couldn't stop giggling throughout all three sections of that. That was officially the greatest cartoon ever written!

You're asking the wrong guy, PMF. I mean, I know who those villains are, but I'm just not a fan of the throwback style of villains who are not remotely menacing, and of those three, only Gorilla Grodd has EVER been done in a way that didn't make me want to shoot a writer.

I thought the version of the Clock King that appeared in Batman: The Animated Series and JLU was an interesting villain. Still a bit sillly, but with sympathetic motives and backstory.
Also, Black Manta as he appeared in JLU (they changed the name to Devil Ray) was very cool. Shame he died...
What, you didn't like those, Wildknight?

TAS Clock King was a great take on the character... He wasn't insane, didn't have any 'special' abilities. He was just extremely well coordinated, had his plans well rehearsed. He made a good villian without going overboard with the gimmicky nature some villians had. And yeah, very sympathetic... Made me kinda hate the mayor too. (Since something similar happened to me as a child).
