A thunderous pressure tore into the city. Cars and trucks whipped through the air to slam against each other as three small twisters danced through the streets. A young man in grey robes and a full blond beard chuckled cheerfully as he invoked half a dozen microburst’s at a hunched over figure in a deep black robe.
“Come on grandma! You’re the big bad witch huh, what ya got!?” He taunts as he flings another gust at fifty miles an hour. The small figure raised a hand and barely managed to deflect the gust with a murmured word. The act seemed to have drained her. Already staggering she drops to one knee., shielding her withered face as the twisters closed in.
“Your supposed to be an Usurper? Your good but not that good, barely worth the effort. E-” The man’s voice cut off as his body twitched. The kneeling women rises and within seconds the stopped over hunched form of a crone fades to reveal a strong, young, beautiful dark haired women with burning green eyes. Her smile should be beautiful, angelic even. Its not. It holds not a shred of remorse, compassion, or kindness. Malice and malevolence reign supreme. “You are a man pig, and will spend the rest of your short life as such.” As she speaks the Guardian can feel his body convulsing, the sharp cracks and pain rob him of control and he looses the twisters as he drops to one knee and begins to shrink.
Time seems to slow as the young man abruptly looks up and opens his mouth. A light burns in his mouth and a primal wail erupts from him. The sound bends and twists through the air, shattering glass and concrete. Metal and flesh. The women stumbles, and falls, loosing her spell as her senses are assaulted by the young Sorcerer.
Stumbling to his feet the Guardian lurches forward. A laugh and smirk dancing on his lips.
“Almost, but your not match for us.”==================== A soft beep slowly pulled Sylph from her dreams. It was gradual and unwanted. A forced removal from a world better than her own. After a few more minutes of the beeping the dream slips away and Sylph finds herself staring at her ceiling. It's Monday, first day of the school week. That's okay though, it was almost the end of the year. The door cracks open and a mousy haired women with kind brown eyes and a smile pokes her head in. "Sylph honey, its time for school."\\k so were gonna do the one shot thing until we get 2 more people (waiting on ushis cad and some other person if they come). Ill post the background info and other stuff like npc profiles somewhere or another, will see where.

Sylph curled up into a tight ball underneath the blankets, there was something in her dreams that was slipping away. She hated when she felt she'd been awoken before a dream reached fruition. After a few minutes, and another waking from her mother that she finally crawled out of bed. Her night shirt a light cotton that drapped over her body, the creases slowly unfolding as she stretched before a mirror. She looked down at her bare feet, flexing her toes into the thick shaggy carpet before finally deciding it was ok to go to school. She pulled her shirt off, and stepped into the hall grabbing a towel along the way. Leaning over the rail, she called down to her mom that she wanted French Toast for breakfast, her mom looking up and admonishing her to get some clothes on.
After her shower, she dressed in a short dress and sandals, then went downstairs to eat. Her best friend was already at the breakfast table waiting for her. You'd almost think she lived here, the way she happily quaffed down the toast Sylph's mom had made. "Tommy's gonna be staying late tonight for Drama rehearsal...", her friend said as if to imply that sylph should find a reason to stay late at school. Sylph shrugged and waved her friend off, she was tired of Amanda always trying to set her up with guys. Tommy was cute, but he wasn't her type...
After breakfast, they casually strolled down to the bus stop, and waited for the day's events to unfold. As they sat, Sylph laid her head on Amanda's shoulder, and closed her eyes... there was something about a dream that she wanted to recall, but it was too far gone. So she daydreamed of flying, caught up in the clouds with nothing but rain clouds to dress her with.

Heartwind Falo, otherwise known as Harriet watched her daughter and her friend make their way to the bus. She couldn't quite put her finger on it but something was off, something that nudged her. It had been years since she indulged in her religion. Wicca was a young women's world, not a mother and business associate at a local bookstore. Still, maybe she should call up her old gang. .~. Amanda chattered away amiably. She knew her friends habits, just as Sylph knew hers. Amanda simply HAD to talk. It didn't really matter if someone was listening or not. It was of her opinion that words have power. Even if someones not actively listening they'll get the sub context. Today's topic lightly revolving around Tommy Daniels. As Amanda droned on and Sylph let her mind wander another vision intruded upon her fantasies. It was a face, a particular face. A handsome young man with golden blond hair and a neatly trimmed goatee. As a teenage girl Sylph couldn't help but tell he was gorgeous. And strangely familiar. In her fantasy the man is flying beside her, grinning cheerfully. He makes no sound but she gets the strong impression that he would be laughing. A rowdy chuckle that she couldn't possible know, but can imagine it perfectly. Before to much time can be spent dwelling on the image the bus stops. It had reached the school and students were filing out. The day had begun.

Sylph sat stoicly in her Homeroom class, already tiring of the guffaws the other girls threw her way. She'd learned long ago not to let them bother her, her odd appearance, and smaller frame made her an easy target as a Junior who looked more like a Freshman. An Albino Freshman, she added to her thoughts. "Hey Sticks!", one of the pubescent boys shouted over at her as he threw a paper airplane in her general direction but completely missed as the plane went gusting off in the opposite direction landing in Heather's hair...
At least they'd quit looking at her long enough to laugh at the boy who had thrown the plane, and Heather who shrieked as the plane embedded itself into her Oh-So-Perfect hair...
Sylph ran her hand through her own flat hair, but then quickly brushed it back behind her ear. Pulling out her math book, she tried to finish a couple more of her homework problems before the bell rang for them to go to 1st class. 1st class was always at least a bit of fun, her Science teacher often let her experiment a bit in the back lab away from the others. Sometimes Amanda would sneak out of her English class to come help, Sylph sorta hoped she'd come over today, today just felt wrong... bed wouldn't come soon enough.
The bell rang, shoulders hunched forward, she held her books to her chest and made her way to 1st period. Heidi walked with her... Heidi was weird too, but in a nice way, and though she rarely talked, she did seem to enjoy pretending to walk with Sylph between classes... power in numbers maybe...

"It's going to rain today." Heidi abruptly says, breaking one of the commandments of their false pack. Though shall not talk. Sylph couldn't help but wonder about the strange feeling she gets from Heidi. Its something in her eyes, her walk, her voice. Something in the way she carries herself, was Sylph just noticing? Heidi looked strong, capable. It made Sylph wonder why she walked with her, could she be protecting Sylph from bullies? Come to think of it Sylph couldn't remember a time when Heidi herself was bullied.
"Come on, we can skip Chemistry." Following the unthinkable, Heidi grabs Sylphs hand and drags her off towards the service stairs. Her hand was soft and warm, underlined by a tensile strength. Sylph could have escaped her, probably. For some reason she didn't. She trusted Heidi, actually she trusted Heidi immensely, more than anyone else.
In a matter of minutes the pair were on top of the school staring at the sky. It was grey with clouds, thick of water waiting to spill. Wind whipped through the girls hair. Heidi's auburn tendrils spun around her in thick waves, painting her in a envying light. The girls hand warmed and suddenly Sylph wanted to be her. Confident and beautiful.
"I love storms, don't you?" When she glances at Sylph the girl's eyes are strange, intense and focused.

It wasn't hard to convince Sylph to skip class for a rainy day, she rather loved being rooftop when the wind got strong enough to blow you over, when the smell of fresh rain filled the skies, even to let the peltering drops of rain fall onto her face. So there was little hesitation at all to joining Heidi upstairs. Sylph knew Heidi was one of those Wiccan types, or whatever, she'd seen her scribbling "Goddess" various times on her notebooks, and Halloween, she'd always come to school in a traditional Witch outfit. Still, it surprised Sylph to see Heidi on the rooftop with her, enjoying the weather as much as Sylph did. Watching Heidi for a moment before closing her own eyes to feel the wind against her face, Sylph wondered at how attractive the other girl was. " Yes...", she said meekly, her eyes remaining shut, the wind blowing her hair out of her face to flow like a white flag behind her, " I would be perfectly happy if the weather were always... exactly... like... this...", she said, seperating each word, though at barely more than an audible whisper, partly to emphasis, partly because she was just enjoying the wind too much. OOC: Think I'll use one of the hidden colors... Cyan.

Heidi's smile lights up her face. Her warm toned hair whips about her as she turns her face up. "It's perfect, what if we could fly, among the clouds? Dance with the birds?" The joy in her face should turn the question into a teasing joke. But she seems completely serious. The question has weight.
Before Slyph could answer Heidi raises a hand to a triangle pendant at her throat and begins to chant. "Notus de Calum, salto circum tuus consobrina" As her words leave her mouth the wind picks up and a faint chirping fills the air. By the time she finishes chanting the air is filled with tiny images of people. Motes of dust and leaves swirled into miniature female forms.
With a ever growing smile she turns to Sylph and tilts her head coyly. "Do you believe in magic?" She asks, as if she hadn't just performed High Sorcery.

Sylph revels in the wind blowing her face, her eyes closed to the world. She listens to Heidi speaking in Latin and grins a bit at the dorkiness of her friend, and when Heidi asks if she believes in magic, she barely stiffles a giggle, opening her eyes quickly to make sure Heidi didn't see that she'd almost laughed, and instead sees female forms made from the dust and leaves hovering overhead. Eyes a bit wide, she cries out, "Oh my god... do you see those?", having already forgotten the question about her beliefs.
She reaches out to touch one with her left index finger, mouth open in amazement. Seconds later she realizes that she's standing there, mouth wide open, and closes her mouth into a pretty smile, withdrawing her finger in slight embaressment.

Heidi's bright laughter fills the air, causing the little sprites to dance and chirp happily. They flutter and swirl around the two girls. Occasionally a snippet of conversation can be heard between the soft whispering laughter.
One daring sprite drifts forward and places a tiny hand on Sylph's cheek. Its small fingers breeze over her skin with the faintest tickling sensation. As soon as it makes contact a thousand voices fill Sylphs ears. Soft, careful whispers that wrap her in a cocoon of affection.
Sister! We found you, yes, we all did. They seem to be chattering to herself and others around her. It seems as though they would go on forever until a distinctly masculine voice cuts through the bustle.
-hear this, You are my successor. Listen carefully, they are coming for you. They want what you have, before you have it. Trust your instincts. He will help you, look for him in t- The remainder of the conversation is cut by a whirling shriek. Winds howl as Heidi makes a short gesture and the sprites scream their fury at being summoned and banished at a mortal's call. Their voices rise in a harmonic shriek of warning. Urging Sylph to escape the bad Witch before its to late.
Shaking her head Heidi turns a innocent face to Sylph and inquires again. "So, do you?" Her smile holds a shadow this time. Something dark and hungry.

"Huh?", she asked in an obviously distracted reply. Follow her instincts? Her instincts were telling her to jump off the roof. She'd learned long ago to not listen to her instincts, just as she'd learned long ago that magic wasn't real.
""What did you do to me?", she asks in an incredulous tone, "Did you drug me?!?", she asks, obviously getting upset as she realizes that this was all some hallucination and that somehow Heidi had drugged her. She looks at her hand trying to find out if somehow Heidi had done it via one of those skin-contact drugs or something... "What kinda sicko are you? What the hell?!?", her voice rising in anger to an almost yell. For likely the first time in her life she ignores the lovely weather that blows around her, this time blowing her hair into her face, which she has to angrily push away. Her fists ball up and she looks at Heidi as though she's about to punch a hole straight into her face.

A flicker of something flashes through Heidi's eyes. It's dark and primal. It lingers for the barest moments before it vanishes and she turns to quietly head back into the school.
"You'll believe sister, soon." With those ominous words she disappears into the school.
Her absence leaves a void. A tangible sensation of loss. But waring with that is a sense of serenity. Freedom and joy. It is clear however pleasurable Heidi's company is it is stifling. Now alone the storm thunders above. The winds lick and pluck at Sylph's hair, each caress of a breeze imparts a feeling of restrained glee. They wish ever so to run free and need but a mere encouragement from their new friend.

Sylph sits down, knees too weak to remain standing. She closes her eyes, trying to get past the incident, wondering what exactly happened... maybe it was a hallucinogen on hallucination... She looks up at the dark clouds above, flying past at a high rate of speed, wondering if maybe it actually had been magic. She looks at the motes of leaves getting whipped up by the winds and pleads quietly... "Come back..." to the capricious fairies of the wind.

Something answers Sylphs call. But it is not the fairies. The winds riding the storm whip into a frenzied howl. Fifty mile per hour micro bursts explode above the school, tearing trees from the ground in a parody of a twister. It's brutal, destructive and powerful. A primal force of nature flexing its will. Even so it is not malevolent, but furious. Somehow Sylph could tell. The winds were mad, at her..no on her behalf.
As cars in the lot crashed and banged into each other the loudspeakers crackled on and ordered students to stay in the class and treat the situation as an earthquake drill. The furious gusts were devastating, terrifying, and completely ignoring Sylph. She was the eye of the hurricane. A space of peace in the raging winds.

Sylph closed her eyes, relishing the weather, the wind, everything... she didn't even seem to notice just how bad it was, she just spread her arms and let the wind flow through and around her. The effects of the wind around her diminished in noise, no more shrieking sirens, no more metal against metal, just the sound of wind. There was no need to go back to class, having already skipped so much, and having lost track of time, she had no idea where she should even be. Sadly, she opened her eyes to get up, knowing that she'd have to go through the school to get home anyways.
At first she was incredulous, not believing what she was seeing. Everywhere she looked, she was surrounded by thick fog that hurridly gusted past. Then she became fearful when she looked down and realized she really was completely surrounded by the thick fog, her feet no longer touching the ground, the school no longer in sight. Was this some sort of dream? It didn't feel like a dream. Finally, she became ecstatic as she realized she was flying, and not falling. She let the gusts of wind swim up under her arms, pushing her upwards like the arms of many men. She twirled, twisted, and flipped in the air, her thin clothes nearly ripped off from the experimentations.
The the fog was gone.
Dispersed, she saw beneath her the school grounds, still in turmoil, figures emerging to look at the damage. Her body lowered towards the school, as she realized that people were looking up into the skies towards her. As she got closer she realized that they didn't actually seem to see her, since their heads never remained in her direction. Looking down at herself, she began to realize why...
She was dead....
Transparent, hoving in the skies, she must have died somehow and now existed as a ghost. She couldn't see her own feet, or even her body anymore. It wasn't half bad, being gotten dead. She didn't recall any pain, and it was exhilarating to be so free. Curious, she returned to the rooftop to see what she looked like dead. Searching around, she couldn't find her own corpse... and there wasn't any crowds anywhere that seemed to be looking at a corpse...
She stepped down to the ground, curious as to where her body had gone off to, if maybe Heidi had done something with it... why would Heidi have killed her though? Things weren't making sense... "Sylph!", she heard Amanda call out, "Where the hell have you been? I've been looking all over for you, I totally covered for you in science, told them you'd gone to the nurse... you're lucky he likes you, he probably won't even check up on it... what's wrong? Forget to brush your hair, or you been out back messing around with Tommy?", Amanda prattled on and on, as if nothing had happened...
" Wait... you can see me? My hair is a mess?!?", she asked, almost more worried about her hair being bad than the fact that Amanda could see Ghosts... Well, maybe more than Amanda, seemed a lot of people were smirking about her hair, as she quickly tried to brush it down with her hand.
Ok, so she wasn't dead... this was making less sense the more she thought about it. Maybe better to just not think about it at all... She didn't see Heidi around, and Amanda was with her, maybe she was going crazy... Or maybe.... maybe Magic really was possible, and she was some sort of Witch. Absentmindedly, she twirled her finger in the air, and watched as some leaves started to swirl in the same direction, right where she was pointing... quickly she snapped her hand down back to her side, nervously looking around to see if anyone else had noticed.
It was true... she was a witch! Thankfully, Amanda still continued to prattle on, and slowly Sylph returned her attention back to her best friend.

"-with us. We can help you Sylph." The voice emanating from her friend most definitely was not Amanda's. It was strong and cultured, it held undertones of something, something off. A sensation of other that clung to the overtures.
Amanda was staring at Sylph intently. Not at all glassy eyed someone would think a possessed person appeared as. The burning directness of the gaze did more than anything else to convince Slyph that her friend was no longer in the building.
"The Public Library," The thing said. "Tomorrow, you have questions we can answer. Slyph, we-" Whatever the thing that was about to say was cut off by the arrival of Heidi.
The little witch took one glance at Amanda and hissed. "She is ours ancient one, you can not have her."
Rather than argue the intensity faded from Amanda and the young girl blinked several times before frowning.
"What happened?"
