OOC the only reason I suggest 3APs as a weight for big guys is because its more true to life. If I were 14 stone 4lbs (2 APs or 200lbs) I'd feel like I could slip under a door. I'd be very underweight. As it is, at 16 stone (225lbs) I'm about right for my height (6'3" - 6'4") and build.
That's where I base my assumption about the Captains size but I also understand the confusion. He's listed in a number of different places as being different heights, and in the comics seems to shrink and grow depending on who is drawing him. Alan Davis (definitive author for me) had him stooping to get under doors (6'6") and he didn't look dramatically underweight either.
That said, it's a one shot game, we'll go with rules as written and I'll suspend disbelief so as to not get bogged down in details. If you suggest Blob, Thing or the Hulk are 2APs weight as well I'll laugh out loud though The Marvel Wiki page has him at 6'6" and 257lb too. Maybe he should have an extra power - grow according to artists inconsistencies
As for rules, I'll admit to being rusty so if you see something odd/wrong in a post of mine, holler. It's been 20 years since I ran DC Heroes regularly, and back then I didn't need any of the books - they were committed to memory from constant use (only other game that got into my head as much was BECMI D&D, mostly the Basic/Expert sets). Looks like I need to brush up in places.

OOC: Thank you. I agree that evidence of Captain Britain's height and weight from a story taking place on or after June 6th, 1984 trumps both the OHOTMU references. (Yes, I also believe in Alan Davis.) Captain Britain is 3 APs in weight and I'll adjust the Daily Bugle thread accordingly.
As for this game. I'm 5' 11" and weigh 167 lbs. (I weight 2 APs, so I guess I'm a typical Character.) So the thug Batman hit could also weigh 2 APs. Please?

OOC No worries on the 2aps front with Batmans goons. It's easier to remember if your average mook/goon is 2Aps of weight. Batman can knock him back a maximum of 80' (3APs distance). He also has initiative. Multi attack with the Batarang in the fog will be tricky (+2OV because of the Fog) but Hero points should sort that out. Your call.

It's times like these that Batman misses having a Robin. Bruce has to even the odds quickly because the guard will be in mortal danger if this turns into a gunfight.
Batman runs into the heart of the smoke filled area to engage the four goons within.
This is a hand-to-hand Multi-Attack against 4 goons because Batman's movement is 4 AP due to his Dex of 10.
AV: Batman's 10 DEX OV: The highest OV of any of the 4 goon defenders + 2 Column Shifts because there are four of them + 2 Column Shifts for the Fog
NOTE: I will use Martial Artist for the EV to be 10.
[dice=10]+[dice=10]
That 16 should hit. I'll spend a Hero Point to raise that EV from 10 to 11. the goons will get a +2 CS on their resistance, so I'm thinking I might need this, especially after the first guy used Hero Points to ruin my day.
NOTE: Bats is still wearing his Thermal Vision 12 goggles (from Reply #23 in this thread). Will this offset the negative modifier for the Fog? [rand=865266379900276710952313989400864220668474212288866143389414064586]

OOC Thermal vision googles do indeed offset the +2CS from the fog. Bats has 10AV 11EV vs the 7-8 column. 16 is 3 columns inflicting 10RAPs on all four thugs. Bashing combat won't drop them below zero but the knockback would. Even so, they'll just wake up (hours later) with bruised heads and headaches.
Batman moved forward, turning to spin and jam an elbow into one mans face! He ducked a swung punch and jammed his heel into the fellows chin, pulling his knee up to meet his jaw!
Pacing forward through the fog he heard gunshots go off and saw the flare of pistols in the fog. He slammed a kevlar lined fist into another man, grabbed his head then spun him about, bringing the head into contact with anothers face. There was a groan, compounded by a kick to the stomach, and the fellow went flying!
He thudded into another who spun... and a flying kick slammed into his chest catapulting him through the fog into boxes!
"Get him!"
"Where is he!"
"He's not human!"
"Not me you idiot!"
"I'm outta here!"
"Stand your ground! He's only one man!"
"Screw this! No one said nuthin' 'bout the bat!"
OOC goon #6 (who you hit before) as well as Dr Flagg and Goon #1 (both outside) are all that remain. Goon #6 sees the dark figure in the fog and gets up to move through the fog and feel his way towards the door. Flagg and Goon #1 fire blind into the fog.
Weaponry 4 (Flagg) and 3 (Goon #1) vs OV10 raised to 13-15 Column. Flagg and Goon spend HP (3 for Flagg (7/10), 2 for Goon (3/5)) to fire at Batman. Even so that's a roll of 18 (Flagg) or 21 (Goon) required. You want to bother putting any HP into OV? If not, in your post/reply roll the two sets of dice for the bad guys (to save back/forth) and I'll resolve the shots for the bad guys. Once you've rolled those, it's next round. Pointless rolling initiative so Batman will go first.
Proposed actions for next round: Goon #6 will blunder through the fog to the door Goon #1 will fire blindly into the fog at Batman using HP Flagg will fire blindly into the fog at Batman using HP
Batman is within melee range of Flagg and Goon #1 if he moves just a few metres (auto action)

I'm not bothering with Hero Points to avoid the gunshots.
Goon #1 [dice=10][dice=10]
Flagg [dice=10][dice=10]
Batman Presses the Attack (-1 OV CS to Batman and his targets) against Goon #1 and Flagg. He moves toward them (automatic action) engaging them both in a Multi-attack (+1 OV CS and + 1RV CS). Combined the baddies have +0 OV CS and +1RV CS.
Martial Arts is used to increase EV again.
[dice=10][dice=10]
After attacking, Batman turns to see where Goon #6 ended up. (Automatic Action #2) [rand=2663374526891857463504128810018389862692123278989455246694851667]

With a kick, and jamming an open palm downwards into the back of an exposed neck, Batman drops a thug. Flagg fairs no better with a headbutt sending him reeling before he sags in a heap on the floor.
Then Batman strides through the fog and waits.
==========
The remaining goon fumbles his way through the fog...
"Flagg! Flaaaagg? Where are you? Did you get him?" he hisses. "Where is everyone? Where..."
He turns... into the black wall of Batmans chest! With a cry he falls back, then drops the gun. "Alright! I... don't... Here! I gave up! You got me! No lousy payday is worth a beatin'!"
Batman glowers at the goon through the smoke. The others lay groaning, unconscious, and out for hours probably.
OOC Combat is over. Apologies for the delay. I'm on catchup after four days of horrendous all night shifts, including a killer that had me finishing on Sunday at dinnertime.

Batman grabs the last goon by his lapels.
"What is going on here?"
"Tell me everything you know."
This shouldn't take long.
Charisma 12 roll to Force this thug to answer his questions. [Since Batman's Str is higher than a common criminals the OV should be -1 CS.]

OOC Batman uses the Force manoeuvre and exerts his strength over the thugs getting -1OV. He needs 3 or more regardless. 12 Charisma vs 2 Spirit = 10 RAPs. The thug practically wets himself.
"Ahhh! AHHH! WAIT! Wait... NO! WAAAAIT! OK, ok..." says the cowardly thug, backing into a corner on his back, arms raised as a shield.
"We were paid a pretty penny to steal this equipment from Waynetech, but we don't know who hired us! Somebody slipped the money and instructions under Joe's door yesterday, and we're just doing what we've been paid to do. Honest! I swear!"
Batman leans forward, bearing teeth and growling, adjusting his knuckle dusters on kevlar gloves...
"Uh... uh... The note! Yeah, the note said to get the goods and bring them to a pawn shop on West Addison in the Bowery. Then we'd get the rest of our dough!"
Batman glowered, moving in... the Thug cowered even more, curling up and spluttering...
"I don't know anything else, honest! We weren't supposed to hear from the guy who dropped off the note until tonight..."
Batman is satisfied the Thug will tell no more. He stands over the coward, a curled up gibbering wreck blubbing and soiling himself. Batman would have felt like a bully - save for the fact this man had had a gun only moments before and was the type to use it to enforce his will on others. Weak, cowardly, the sort of man who gunned down his ... He felt the anger rising and with an iron will, quelled it.
Smoke wafted from the supply room out into the open air, revealing sprawled bodies. Some stirred, but only because their bodies protested at the beating they'd taken. Perhaps the others might have something on them or know something more than this goon did. In any case, the police would need to handle them. He remembered the Bat Signal and Gordons warning. Arkham.
Dare he spend longer here than he had to? A crime had been committed, and though it looked like a fairly amateur setup, the fellow posing as the scientist had some knowledge of procedures and the way things worked, hence the attempted ruse. He looked about. Perhaps he wouldn't get information from the Thugs themselves for hours, but rather the items they were trying to steal...

Batman ties up the goons with his 4APs of Batrope and then tries to wake the guard.

The guard wakes, groans, and slowly looks around. "Wha...?" he splutters, then his eyes widen when he sees Batman. Touching a finger to the fierce swelling on the back of his head, he winces in pain and looks at the blood on his fingers. "Tried ... to stop them... came from behind..."
Batman helps him into a seating position and the guard sees he's taken care of business. "Thanks Batman." he says. "I really need this job. I don't think my supervisor, Mr Crowther, would be pleased to know this sort of thing happens on my watch."
Slowly, gingerly, the guard gets to his feet and the pair walk over to inspect what the criminals were after. For the most part, it's high resistance electrical wiring, ductile glass tubing, hence the well packed straw filled crates, and the real items of value, several bars of pure platinum.
Batman glances about.
OOC Detective check 12 vs OV/RV 8 gets a roll of [dice=10] [dice=10], giving 3 column shifts for a score of 10 RAPs.
With the fog from his grenade just about cleared, Batman sees a slip of paper where Flagg had fallen before Batman hauled him to where the others were and packaged them up for Gordons men. There was an address circled in red ink reading "1060 West Addison, Bowery" whilst the logo at the top of the slip reads "Pawn King"
Batman looks at the serial numbers on the crates and packing labels of the stolen items. "Anything unusual about these?" he rasps. The Guard looks over, then walks on shakey legs to a clipboard with a thick ream of paper attached. "Manifest shows that... lessee..." he flicks through several pages and kneels next to the crate. "Yeah, here it is. Manufactured by Lexcorp." he moves to the next item. "Same and... same?" he looks up at Batman. The guard added "Waynetech buys stuff in from all over. Mr Luthors prices might be steep, but when you buy his stuff, its the best." he pulled his pistol from his holster and reversed it. "Lightweight and packs a wallop - when I get chance to use it." It was stamped 'Lexcorp' on the bottom.
Putting his pistol away and the clipboard down, the Guard moves over to a phone. "If it's all the same to you Batman, I need to get this place cleaned up, the cops to take these guys away, and maybe get some relief so I can get this sorted out." he said, referring to the head wound. "Oh, and thank you. I don't know what sorta place Gotham would be without you, but I don't wanna live there!"

Riddle: What sorta place would Gotham be without the Batman? Answer: Arkham Asylum
Back in the Batmobile, Bruce makes a mental note to visit 1060 West Addison, but for now he's enroute to Arkham. He's already left Gordon's men waiting far too long.

The roar of a thousand horsepower cuts through the night as a quad turbocharged V8 tries its best to tear up the streets of Gotham. Inside, shrouded in darkness save for the dimmed glow of radar and the holographic 'heads up' display route prediction software that eases Batmans path through crawling Gotham traffic, the man behind the mask remains cool, calm, impassive.
Arkham was always the sort of place that would, eventually, rub off on those associated with it. It was a mark of the man driving the Batmobile that he would resist the longest, his psyche impenetrable, driven and focussed.
In many ways he was the sort of fellow that Arkham gave home to, but for different reasons...
Rubbish swirled in a great draught as the car thundered past, kicking up spray from the evening rain and closing in on the place that housed Gothams worst, most evil citizens...ARKHAMOOC This concludes the first section of the adventure for Batman. The module states we switch to Superman now...

Part 1: Nighttime Patrol The cool night air rushes past your face as the lights, sounds, and people of your adopted city speed past hundreds of feet below you. With peerless supersenses, you monitor the activity which even at this hour permeates Metropolis. This late evening, you allow yourself a mere sixty minutes for your nighttime patrol, having just recently escaped the flurried activity of the Daily Planet newsroom, where your editor-in-chief, Perry White, expects you again soon for yet another assignment. For the moment, however, covering far and wide, from Hell's Gate to Bakerline to Queensland Park, a feeling of pride wells within you. This city is a beacon of hope to the teeming millions, representing all that is good and true of the American dream. Yet, in your wisdom, you know no beacon shines without a background of darkness, and it is against that darkness--and the criminal element which seeks to hide within it--that you fight your never-ending battle. Your first few sweeps of the bustling city pass uneventfully, perhaps a sign of an ultimately quiet night. But the stillness is soon broken by the faint, rhythmic wailings of distant police sirens, coupled by telltale red and blue flashes through the city streets, and, almost simultaneously, by the piercing familiar pulses of Jimmy Olsen's signal watch.

Superman Body: 18 Mind: 15 Spirit: 10 Hero Points: 200
Superman thinks 'it never rains...' and glances in the direction of the sound of the police cars, then turns to where Jimmys watch is going off. He'd been impressed by Jimmys ingenuity in making the thing, but had made clear (politely) that it was only to be used for emergencies.
Making a mental note of the direction the police cars are heading in, he turns and races off (flying at 8APs speed) in Jimmys direction, mindful of the time of day (night time) and damage to the environment from sonic booms.
He also scans ahead with telescopic and x ray vision to pinpoint on Jimmys location and situation, and uses his super hearing* to listen in when he gets in range.
ACTIONS
Auto: Fly (8aps speed) towards Jimmys location. Auto: Telescopic Vision 13** Auto: X-Ray Vision 13**
**Vision powers to find Jimmy and look in on him. If he is in immediate peril will increase Flight speed to gain altitude, increase speed to 12aps and slow down to come from overhead to where Jimmy is.
*Assuming it takes more than a phase to get there, the next phase Superman will listen in with Extended Hearing 8 and Directional Hearing 8 to listen in on Jimmy and whomever might be nearby.
