"I guess..? She didn't have to insult my car, though.." He said somewhat disappointed.
No response from Logan as he took her away into the mansion.
Apparently, Ishbel did not like uninvited mental communications.
"Hah. My apologies, merely a demonstration as to cause no confusion." Xavier apologized. And now for the hard questions weighing on Ishbel's mind.
"I can see you have many worries. In this world it's understandable why you'd question everything. It's only natural." He said hovering away a little bit away from the mansion. "I should start off with saying that this school is not 'too good to be true.' The world we live in currently does not understand our mutant kind. Due to that, they hate and even attack us at times. You've just seen an example of that, unfortunately." He said sympathetically. "This school was brought up to help our mutant friends. Help them to control their gifts, help them to help others. And ultimately to show the world that humans and mutants can get along together well if we just put a little effort in. It will be a very difficult task, mind you. This is why I believe this school cannot be considered 'too good to be true.'" He explained.
"Your next concern is an easy one. Due to the unfortunate news of your home, your brother is free to stay with us here. Even if he is not a mutant, he can still make himself useful here by helping us if he so wishes to. He also can live outside of the property if he is not comfortable living here with mutants. I know a few people outside of the mansion who can use a good mechanic in their place of work, and can even provide housing for him should he wish to accept." He said facing Duncan. "It would be up to you, sir, how you'd like to go from here. We'd ask that Ishbel stay here with us on the mansion grounds so that we can closely help her with her growth, but you are free to do what you wish to do." He offered.
"Back to you.." He said turning his chair towards Ishbel. "You worry about controlling your power. Perhaps it's one you cannot turn off?" He questioned. "No matter the case, we will be able to assist you with your powers, my young friend. Be it through training, technology, or perhaps a combination of both, we will be able assist you in controlling your powers. According to Logan, your power may be tethered to your emotions. If that is the case, I can assure you we have a few mutants who are in the same exact boat as you are in, and we have been able to assist them in the recent past." He smiled. "A 'drugged up zombie,' as you put it, would be out of the question. We'd like you to be in your normal state of mind, as you once were before you discovered your gift." He said turning to face away from Ishbel. "This is my home, and I wish to share it with anyone who can agree to help me. Help me to show the world that mutants are not to be feared, and that we can work alongside mankind, as opposed to against it. Should you agree to live here with us, you would be part of something larger in the world. An X-man, who will help bring mutantkind and mankind together."
Xavier turned back to Ishbel and Duncan. "Everyone has their choices to make. I never wish to force anyone to do anything they do not desire to do. So I will leave the choice of joining to you, Ishbel." He nodded to her.

Ishbel had poked a bit of fun with her brother, even if she was still a bit numb, but the fact that he still cared about his car that much made her show a brief, small smile. Duncan would always be Duncan after all, that admirable love for all things mechanic and the skill behind making them work. Xavier, the owner of the ridiculously luxurious place, seemed to be a good enough dude despite the weird mental thing. After her own fire, Sam's emotion thing, Logan's claws, that one flying Rogue and this... she would have to get accustomed to the weird. He seemed an earnest, maybe a bit naive but otherwise good meaning man. Sure, it was just a first impression, but how he talked about the purpose of the place was endearing. At least his intentions were good and they didn't have anywhere else to go. He seemed to be accommodating of their particular situation, homeless and on the run. Hearing that Duncan had options and could be around with her in more or less capacity was reassuring for her, and Ishbel bet it was calming for him too. She knew Duncan would want to take care of her in some measure, little sister as she was, but she wanted him to have a life too. Perhaps not with a flying, car disparaging woman, but a life anyways. When it came the turn to her powers and condition... Xavier offered what Ishbel more needed: Hope. It would remain to be seen how things would work, or how was the daily life in such a bizarre place, but it was beyond their last resort. It seemed a genuinely good place. Ishbel looked at Duncan, their eyes matching in some sort of unspoken agreement. "I hope you don't mind if I don't instantly get into that nice sounding dream of yours" Ishbel said sincerely, even if it sounded like the kind of idealist stuff she was into. "But my brother got attacked hours ago, and should see a doctor, not to mention they made my fears real by setting our home on fire" she summed up. "That and the pills make me... less enthusiastic than I'd be..." she shifted her weight from one foot to another. "But okay, I'm in" Ishbel ended up agreeing. "Do you have fireproof rooms in the house?" she wondered, mostly a deadpan joke.

"That is perfectly fine. It is my dream, after all. If and when you'd like to share in it, I'd happily take any help I can get."
"I heard about the fire, I'm so sorry about that. Your brother looks fine, though, we will have in checked out in he infirmary just in case." He nodded.
"Thank you, it'd be much appreciated. Just hope I don't have a concussion or anything like that.."
"Of course. And regarding those pills, well, lots of mutants here have abandoned all pills prescribed to them by their doctors upon coming here. Only a few have had to continue on their prescriptions even after they learned to control their gifts. You may too be able to disregard those pills in the near future, but hold onto them for now just in case." He nodded.
"Nothing of the sort, but if your mutation has to deal with the element of fire, we have plenty that can assist you in your boarding here."
"Mr Xavier, thank you very much for this. I didn't butt in because I didn't want Ishbel thinking she needed to make a choice because of me, but..well, for the time being I'd like to stay here too. At least until I get my feet on the ground, and my head back into reality. The last few weeks have been, well, rough. On both of us.."
"I can relate to that. Just remember how you are feeling RIGHT NOW. Many more mutants are out in the world feeling this exact way, and they can use some help." He said directing his words to Ishbel. "We will get you settled in as well, Duncan. Just know that we may ask for your mechanical help in the areas. I have recently been told one of our vehicles stopped working some time ago, and our main mechanic is unable to attend to it as he's been working on bigger projects. I hope that's not asking too much."
"Absolutely not. I'd actually prefer it. Working on cars kinda puts me at ease. Let's me concentrate on something other than the problems of life, ya know?"
"Then something tells me you will get along with our mechanic here. I will ask of your help in the near future, but for now, we should get you seen medically. Ishbel, would you take him to the front door there and ask one of the students where the medical bay is? I need to attend to another mission that is currently going on right now." He stated.
"Thanks, Mr Xavier.."

Ishbel nodded when Xavier talked about many people being able to help despite the lack of fireproof rooms. Sam had been able to help already and she proved to be nice and reliable despite the hectic first impression, but the more she helped Ishbel the worse things got for her and Ish didn't want that, since now she knew Sam's own life was at risk when she used her powers. It may end meaning that for the first time in her life she'd share a room? She didn't know, but she was short on options and didn't really mind. When Duncan talked with Xavier about how he felt, what he wanted to do, Ishbel smiled at him. Once again it was her medicated, slightly dopey smile instead of a natural, open one, but she couldn't manage much more with all that happened. At least he would have mechanic work to do, Ishbel knew that like father, like son, he was really devoted to his craft. Ishbel knew a thing or two about it of course, she had helped many times either in her free time or while she was suspended from school, but what for her was simply a few endearing skills learned from her father, for Duncan was a way of life not just a job. "Sure, of course, you must be busy" Ishbel said back from remembrance when Xavier instructed her to go to the medbay with Duncan. "Come on Dunn, lets get you properly patched and checked" she gestured, still processing the size of the mansion they were about to step into. "Hello? Can someone guide us to the medbay?" she asked out loud once inside. Her hair flamed a bit, while her black and yellow eyes looked around at the ritzy place.

After speaking with Xavier, Ishbel and Duncan went through the main entrance of the mansion in order to look for the medbay to tend to Duncan's wounds.
"Oh, umm, it's right over there around that corner." One young woman, perhaps a student, pointed them to the area the medbay was. "It's labeled, so you shouldn't miss it." She nodded and continued on her way.
Walking through this giant mansion, Ishbel noticed a variety of different types of mutants. Some had different skin colors, some were inhuman looking, some resembled animals. It was truly like entering a whole new world. Even with her own fire hair, she noticed mutants looking at her, then her hair, and then continuing on in their day. It was as if they noticed her hair, understood to a degree what her mutant gift was, and then continued on in their life. No judgement here, everybody had their own thing to deal with. Perhaps this would be a place Ishbel could find peace at. Nobody would be trying to hurt her here, and nobody would judge her. In fact, it was easy to say she was fairly normal compared to some of the others.
"This place is huge, but.." Duncan looked around. "I..still can't get used to all of this." Duncan said. "But you're a mutant, we know that now. I can't judge any of these kids based on looks. Hell, they might have had it more rough than you. I mean, look at some of em. Your hair may be fire, but it's kinda awesome. At least you don't have, like, a monkey face or something.." He whispered. "Overall, I'll get used to it. But this is more for you. You're gonna be okay here I think, Ish. At least, I hope you will."

We will end the introduction chapter here. Ishbel has been successfully recruited, and will be going to class/training soon enough.
Take 3 red stones, or 1w, for your character CAD. Once Jake and Sechs are done with their recruitment, which will be soon, we'll get started in the academy!

"Thank you!" Ishbel directed at the girl that gave them directions, going on her way aside Duncan and taking a look not just at the place, but mostly at the people there. Some were older, some younger, sometimes it was hard to judge due to the appearance shifting nature of their mutant state, but it was clear that the place was packing with kids around her age. Perhaps they had made the correct choice going there, even if fate forced their hand. Ishbel had no other chance but to get accustomed to it from the inside, but there her brother was an outsider of sorts, so she looked at him to see how was he doing.
"It will take some time" she offered when Duncan expressed the difficulties of getting his head wrapped around the notion of that place. She wasn't doing much better, but medicine kept her on check. "A monkey face? I think you called me that a couple times when we were little, or maybe it was me" she smiled a bit, despite their occasional ribbing as siblings, they were nice to each other, specially given the circumstances. "I hope both of us will be fine here, Dunn" she sighed.
"I hope so."
Introduction done! Very nice, dramatic start.
