"OK, so, coming from the public schooling system the whole, 'Do you know why you're here' trick is something only noob supply teachers try. It just turns into a confrontation, cause its just pure intimidation tactics. You then followed it up by trying to get to know me, which involves a level of trust, which you just blew up by trying to intimidate me. Which is why i figured you are just really bad at this." He said with a grin.
"The questions I asked were mostly rhetorical though. I know you've got stuff to do and no one got that hurt, like I said, it's culture shock. I am a bit worried about Robbie though. He seems like a good bloke, but he's gonna be making himself an outsider by reporting to you and that'll have consequences to him. Probably not as bad here as in a normal school, but I feel bad for him."
"As to what I am gonna do with my power..." He paused and looked up at the ceiling, obviously considering.
"This is a what do you want question, isn't it? I honestly don't know. Before I... mutated, is that the right word? Yea? Ok, before I mutated I had this dream about learning about my dad's people, exploring their myths, learning about the dream time from my Granddad, maybe see it some day. It a crazy dream but it was a way I thought maybe I could be special. But now..."
He flickered and started floating slowly upwards having changed to the Astral Plane.
"...Guess what? Here I am! I got all the special a fella could ask for, and no bloody clue what to do with it. It's like someone just hit skip chapter on the book of my ambitions, like: 'Yea that's boring, you can have that, no worries mate. Now what Jake-o?'"
"I've got more power now, more I can do. I just don't know what I should do. I don't feel like I know enough about where I've stepped into. I don't know what the right decision is cause everything confuses me."
"Can I asked you honestly about some things?"

"Like I said, you just being here is already helping mutants all over the world. If everyone can see that these gifts can be managed well, we can live in peace with everyone who hates us, giving them reasons to not hate us any more because of fear."
"This is the case, my friend. I told you before, we are very much alike. Starting off alone with others helping us, but then becoming something to be feared. Not here. Here we have a fresh start where we can be who we wish to be, and help others while doing so."
"If you are ready for the danger room, then we can go now." He said going out the music room with Kurt.
As the two were going along, it would seem that because of the situation that had just occurred, Kurt lowered his guard a little bit. He was being not very cautious with accessing some of the security features to get into the Danger Room. His access code was 11XN. Going to the center of the Danger Room he accessed the computer with the same code. Perhaps it was because it was just them two that he felt comfortable to not have to hide it, or perhaps he forgot.
"So if I may ask, which power are you more comfortable using? Your telekinesis, or your ink powers?" He asked. "Basically we can do a training for offense and defense. You pick which one you want to do." He smiled.
---
Ishbel
"Apologies if odd. But question did hit me out of nowhere." He chuckled.
The large man grunted loudly when presented with the thought of the question. Luckily for him, Ishbel quickly calmed him down.
"You got me good....I would have referred you to, perhaps, female teacher for this one. Ha!"
"Ha. Johns needs focus. Writing paper while in shape of person he admires will be good for his focus we think. Others have assignments to help them in other ways. Some personal ways, so will not discuss those ones. But for you, we have something specific in mind." He said setting the hoe tool down and grabbing a large bag of dirt.
"Grab seeds in bag there, and place in ditch we just created. About 5 feet apart from each other. I will cover with dirt, and you water after I place dirt down." He smiled instructing her. "For you, Ishbel, we are evaluating you a little closer." He nodded. You possess passion like that of fire that burns on your head. Some say you are trouble maker, yet you make no trouble. Only time you made trouble was when you fought Mellissa, no? And even then you used words before you used actions. A 'hot head' would not do something like this, no? So then, Ishbel, who are you truly? In your past you have been kicked out of schools yes. But for bullies. You were never the bully. You defend the ones being bullied. Good quality in person. So, you defend weak ones while talking to make situations better. Is very good. Also you have strong mutant power. In combination, these things mean you can do very good work in this world." He said finishing up with his bag of dirt.
"But it is only if you wish to do so. I join Xmen so I can help mutants in world who have gone through hard times. Like yourself, Ishbel. Not one month ago you were living in bad situation. But, we found you and tried to help you. We can only hope you appreciate the help of the professor and others. We care for you, and we care for other mutants. So in future, we will like to ask for your help to assist us as Xmen. Again, only if you want to. There is no reason to answer now. We only want to help others, and if we can find others who wish to help, then this would be good." he smiled.
"This, is what is all about." He chuckled.
---
Jake
"..Noted. As a 'noob teacher' I can learn from this. It's only my first year teaching, so you'll have to excuse my lack of experience." She chuckled.
"There's no need to worry about Robbie. He's doing fine. He may have a target on his back, but that's what all of us teachers have as well. He's maturing to a point where he understands what it means to step up and take on a role that way. He'll be coming into the Xmen very soon, I'm sure."
"Well it sounds like you should probably give it some serious thoughts. If you're here to help you train your powers, then that's absolutely fine. Once you have a good grasp on your powers, you're completely free to go back home, or do whatever it is you wish to do. But I thinking finding that part of what you want out is going to be key. It is the case for everyone, not just mutants. Finding a goal in life, something that drives you, is important. You say it's like you hit 'Skip chapter' on a certain part of your life, well then unskip it. Find out what you want in life.
"By all means, you can ask anything you wish. Honestly would be preferred, but you may ask anything you want."

Ishbel had her share of fun with the awkward but understanding Colossus, but it was time for the real answers.
"Something specific beyond gardening I guess" Ishbel hummed, following through with the instructions. She started planting the seeds as Colossus told her, calculating the distance with her steps, going bit by bit. From her mechanic days she knew that some jobs may look dirty and crude, but that didn't make them less susceptible to being sloppy with the small details and of course didn't make them worse or less important. "I did also mess up my hand the first time we talked" Ishbel pointed, never hiding from what she had done as Colossus talked about her perceived troubles at school. "Thank you for thinking that I can do good, I honestly appreciate it" she nodded, keeping herself busy going for the watering can to follow the big man's dirt covering of the seeds to water those.
Soon Colossus revealed the whole deal. Helping others. Sam had said that maybe Ishbel was X-Men material. Sam herself had gone to help her and her brother. Could Ishbel do the same?
Melissa had been injured. The man who killed her father had been reduced to ashes.
"How can I know the difference?" Ishbel asked, out of nowhere. "You said I have a strong mutant power myself. How can I know the difference between me trying to be decisive when stopping a bully and me becoming a bully myself?" she asked out loud, finishing with the watering.

Jake pauses as if considering and then plunges on.
"So, I was talking with my mum about this whole mutants are feared and hated bit and I can't understand how the Prof hasn't fixed it yet."
"He has the power. He could target the media moguls who are spreading an anti-mutant message. They start spreading a message of harmony which politicians then have to run with. He doesn't even have to directly attack their minds. They'll have secrets they want hidden, crimes they want kept quiet."
"Instead he's just sending x-men out to save the world over and over again hoping it'll make a difference, which it never will because the media moguls are invested in a race war because it sells newspapers."
He shrugs
"What's the Professor doing?"

Glad that the matter didn't escalate further, he followed Kurt to the danger room and managed to glance his passcode for it. He comited that to memory. As they went in, he took the time to think about what kind of training he wanted, then turned around to look at Kurt.
-I'd like to test my limit and see how much I can take, so let's go for a defensive one.-
He said.

Ishbel
"Hm. This is true. But I messed up more than just my hand when I fist arrive here." He nodded.
"And we thank you for doing good." He smiled.
"Difference is intention." He simply said. "When you fight, you get angry no doubt. Is understandable. But, why do you get angry? For what reason do you have to fight? In past, it was to defend someone, according to you. Retaliation to something. You do not go out to seek fights, you find a reason to fight. Good reason." He said watching Ishbel plant the seeds. "A bully does not seek to protect anyone but, perhaps, his ego. You, Ishbel, are no bully. But, there are many bullies out in world right now. Bullies who may not understand you or I as mutants. You have suffered from bullies. People in your town. Perhaps even those you knew of. Humans are scared because they do not understand us, and that we can live in peace. You have heard this from professor before, yes? Well, is what we as X-men do. Stop bullies from attacking mutants. Bring the mutants here so we may help them. Is little like what you have already been doing, no?" He asked.
--
Jake
"Well...I did say you could ask anything honestly, after all.." Jean said sounding somewhat irritated, annoyed? Disappointed? Maybe just tired?
"As a telepath, the professor COULD, indeed do something like that, potentially yes. As to why he doesn't? Well.." She tried to reason her words. "We all have free will. Why would anyone want to change that? As an example; you know we've been looking for mutants to step up here to assist us to help in helping mutants all around the world. You, Jake, seem hesitant in some aspects. You have your own concerns, you have your own problems to deal with; Your own life. As a telepath myself, I could easily force you to just comply with my wishes. As a young, inexperienced mutant, it would rather easy for me to do something like that. How would you feel about something like that? ..I would not dare think of doing such a thing, but the option is there according to you." She sighed.
"We, the professor included, wishes for the whole world to accept mutants everywhere. To manipulate the world would be inhumane; wrong. So we go out to the world helping our own, helping those different from us, to show that we can work together with them. Not as enemies, but as fellow beings. ..Does that answer your question, or do you still believe forced control would be the way to go about it?"
---
Sechs
"Well, actually this will be a dodging exercise, to see how quick you can move from a threat. Going out into the field, we deal with a lot of attacks that could hurt us badly. One of the requirements to becoming an X-man is to be able to defend yourself. Defending others becomes a more advanced training, but I am sure you will easily get there soon. For now, let us take on a foe that will be throwing things at us." He said going over to the computer to program a simulation. "The attacks here will be real, so you will need to do well to avoid them. ..Ready?" He said turning on the simulation.
The simulation put them on a street in the city of New York during the day time so it was easy to see everything. At the end of a few blocks was a woman. Looking closely, the woman looked familiar, even though she was quite far away.
"I have programed my friend Rogue 3 blocks away from us. She will be throwing large objects at us. Luckily there are no civilians in the way of her destruction. On her head is a device that is making her go crazy. We have to remove the device from her head. It's like a game of tag, except if the one who isn't 'it' is throwing large dangerous things at you. Are you ready for this?" He asked, excited. "You'd better be, because here comes her first throw." He nods to her direction.
The programmed Rogue had picked up a car with one arm, and chucked it towards the mutants. Luckily, they were too far away for the car to reach them, but it did reach half of the distance. She'd continue picking things up and throwing towards them.

SECHS
When Kurt was suggesting advanced training, Sechs wasn't expecting that he would need to dodge cars being thrown at him. Despite the fact that he had mentally prepared himself, he hadn't prepared himself for...this. His eyes widened in front of his new surroundings, but now wasn't the time to daydream. The car had not reach them, but the fact that it made it half across the distance was worrying enough. So he had to think quick. If these things could hurt for real, he needed to stay focus.
The goal was to remove the headband from her head. He probably didn't have enough reach to use his telekinesis from this distance and the target was very small. He would probably have a better chance if he got closer. Dodging wasn't his forte but he needed to make his way to her while protecting himself. And apparently Kurt was part of the team too, so did it mean he could use that to his advantage?
The street was wide and open, there was no other obstacles except whatever was gonna be thrown at them. And seing as Rogue was throwing that with her arms meant that she probably didn't have telekinesis powers, so they could expect incoming attack only from the objects that were within arms reach of her.
-Alright...let's do this!-
He said. He wanted to test his own abilities first, using Kurt's ability to teleport right now would be easy to get to Rogue. He wanted to try something first. He started running ahead, putting up his shield around him in order to protect himself. The first step would be to close in the distance between them without getting hit, but he would avoid a close combat with her, she looked like she had quite the strength.

Ishbel listened to Colossus while she worked, eventually finishing up with her watering task as he talked about the intent when fighting, the motivations for it. As much as Ishbel was still on the fence about her responsibility about what happened with Melissa, she was starting to see a positive path ahead. She could be better, she could help, her fire could do more than hurt and destroy. The flames in her hair undulated gently. "Thanks for that, teach" Ishbel smiled. "I want to help like you do with others, like Sam did with me" she decided. "Do I get a uniform and a nickname? I kinda already came up with one" Ishbel admitted, a bit embarrassed. In her mind, the task was about reaching for people like them and getting them out of their situations, little could do Ishbel to foresee what was ahead for her. "Wait, is there some test I must pass? We do still have to go to class right?" Ishbel smiled, there was no getting away from those.

Jake smiled, he'd known this was coming.
"Uh, Miss G, I appreciate the whole 'mind control bad' thing, but manipulating the world is what the news media does every single day of the year. They control what people think by controlling what they know. How many people do you think hate and fear mutants without ever having met one?"
He shrugged, his father's people still remembered the time from before mutants became the new scapegoat-du-jour. He had grown up with that, he knew prejudice.
"More importantly doesn't what you have just said mean that the news media is inhumane and wrong for stoking anti mutant sentiment? If they are why are you not acting against them? Their message is a hate crime and is killing mutants. The Professor could stop them, if he doesn't want to directly influence their minds and I can see, yes, that's wrong, he's got plenty of other options if he's willing to do what it takes. Find out their crimes and ensure they are prosecuted for them. Give pro-mutant competitors a heads up on their crimes and expose them in the media. Become a 'Deep throat' and pursuade people that going head to head with this mysterious figure who knows all their secrets is a really bad idea and they should get with the harmony programme if they want to stay in business."
"You are trying to change people's minds, but if the media is against you, you never can because people won't find out the good you do or your actions will be misrepresented. Can you really tell me that is not what is happening, because it looks to me like mutants are just the new scapegoats, like immigrants or whatever. An easy target for people to make the 'them' in 'them and us'."

Sechs
"Yes!"
Sechs jumped into the fray with shields being put up. As he went closer towards the hurled cars, he felt the waves of impact as he crept closer, and eventually he was close enough to be within car throwing distance. As he got closer, Rogue targeted him and threw a car right at Sechs. The cars were heavy, obviously, and so when it hit his shield, Sechs felt the pressure of the car against his shield, and felt his shield collapse over him. Due to his reflexes, he was able to dodge out of the area before the shield broke, and the car fell onto him.
"Do not take her attacks lightly, even if she isn't throwing the cars full force at us, these are cars she's throwing. Unless your shield is stronger, they will break if she throws hard enough." He advised.
Sechs was now left without a shield, as he previous one had shattered, and Rogue was going to pick up another car to throw. He was now only one block away from Rogue.
---
Ishbel
"Oh? This is pretty quick."
"Glad you have figured it out. Not a test, no, but just general observation. You will do well in classes, which you still go to, yes. And as you progress in demonstrating you can control you power, you will be asked to go on missions. You will be like Robbie, X-man in training." He nodded. "But again, must prove first you can handle your own power. After this, we will ask you go on smaller missions." He smiled. "But can tell you, you are in right direction. I am glad we can have this talk today. Others were a little worried about you. Thinking you would be too upset about Melissa to want to help, or would be too angry to want to help. I tell them, Colossus knows Ishbel. She will help." He smiled again at her.
"Alright, garden looks almost done here. We will need to do another area as well, same as this one." He said going towards another area of the garden. "So, what is your X-man name for when you do become one? Am curious." He asks.
"Will also need to speak with you on something as well. Robbie. You and he do not seem to see eye to eye as of now. He is one of the ones worried about you, but he fears you dislike him. Is true?" He asked repeating what he was doing previously in the other area of the garden, meaning Ishbel would need to ready some water for the time being.
---
Jake
"So, we should return evil for evil? I think not..." She shook her head. "We will show them by our actions that we can be trusted, not by manipulation as you suggest."
"Well, in any case this is how we do things. We are sorry if it doesn't suit you and your expectations, but this is the most peaceful way we can go about it." She said writing some things out on a piece of paper. "Going about it the way you suggest would be no better than Magneto and his Brotherhood of mutants. They do things by force, trying to promote mutant superiority. How..easy that type of mindset is. If humans and mutants are to live here peacefully, it will be done by showing humanity that mutants are a force of good, not by taking what we want by force. They will paint us as the bad guys, sure, but our actions will speak louder than any false narratives they will paint. But, I suppose you think of us as naïve for thinking in such a way, yes?" She asked him.

“Doesn't suit me?” He chuckled. “I'm a kid at school. This isn't my fight, this is your fight. I'm asking why you're fighting it the way you are. You've said.”
He shrugged.
“As to naïve, yea I guess you might seem that way. I dunno, I've not seen enough yet. I don't think mutants are inherently good or bad though. That's like saying blacks or whites or gays are inherently good or bad. They're people, so they're both. If you try to tell people mutants are a force for good, mutants will prove you wrong, especially those brotherhood fellas. People will find out cause the media is looking out for it to prove their narrative, you'll get called a liar and no one will believe you.”
“Mutants are people with power, not superior cause that's a whole bunch of Nazi BS, not inferior, just people.”
“Thing is you've been hinting pretty unsubtly that you want me to help out with the x-men. I'm trying to figure out if I trust you enough to do that and I'm trying to be honest with how I think and feel so you know if you actually want me to or not. Right now what I'm seeing is a bunch of people whose views don't match up with how I see the world works. I don't know if I can trust that, and you probably don't feel like you can trust me. Which is fair dinkum.”
There was no condemnation in his voice, no hostility, just a sad stating of facts. He was disappointed, but not hostile.

To be fair, these were the things he believed only happened in action movies. It was hard to believe a car had just been thrown at him and he had somewhat managed to block and evaded it. He had progressed toward her but now he was clearly within targeting range and he would need to be a lot more careful. He had a plan in mind, but one hit from those cars and it was good-bye.
He still needed to close the distance. Their goal was to get that headband thingy that was controlling her. If he got that right, throwing a car back at her would probably fail the mission. Yes, he would retrieve the headband, but senseless murder was probably not the way to go about it.
-Yeah, I saw that! By the way, is this Rogue a perfect replica? Like, can she use the same powers as the real one? What can she do?-
He said, not turning his attention away from Rogue, who was ready to pick up another car. To any normal person, this would be terrifying, no wonder people were scared of mutants, but then again, mutants were just people, with a little extra here and there. He wanted to know more about their opponent, better be ready to avoid any unnecessary traps that could be waiting.
Raising up his shield once more, he kept advancing, this time also using the terrain to his advantage to twart's Rogue's aim the best he could. It would be harder to hit a target that is not moving in a straight line.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3 in force field, no AP, shifted to defense for 6 + 1 from Reflexive dodge. 1 in speed to keep moving forward while making evasive movements to give a hard time to Rogue to aim properly.

"You did that for me?" Ishbel froze on the spot. Many students spread rumors about her, teachers judged her, and most importantly even Ishbel doubted herself. Her friends didn't. Her brother didn't. And Colossus didn't. Ishbel approached the teacher. "Can- can you become metal a moment, please?" she asked for, just a thread of voice. Two weeks of clashing feelings and bottled sentiments were overflowing. Once Colossus was impervious to damage, Ishbel just went for a hug and sobbed against him. Once she was calmer, Ishbel let Colossus go and with a couple of sniffles recovered composure. "Thank you for believing in me, no, for seeing me when even I was blind" she nodded. "Don't you dare telling people I cried, need to uphold my reputation" she joked, feeling lighter than she had felt in weeks, full of courage. "There are a lot of fire names already used, but I found one I liked. Scorch" she said. "Maybe I'll change it if I come with something better when the time comes" Ishbel casually shrugged, following Colossus to the next patch of land to work on. The topic got serious again, talking about Robbie. "Oh no, he's a good dude and he only has the best thoughts in mind as far as the students go" Ishbel tried to explain. "The thing is that... well, besides how hard is for teens to accept authority, even worse when it comes from one of us... but it's not that, not with me at least" she continued. "The thing is that with the whole lake thing it feels like he made all the right calls... thinking with his head, being tactical about it. So I lashed out a bit, since I can be all heart and..." she laughed and pointed up. "A bit of a hothead. I'll apologize with him, he deserves better from me" Ishbel decided.

Jean sighed. "I just suppose this won't be a place where we will be able to agree, and that's fine."
"We are different than humans. But just because some of the minority will do something, does not mean we should judge an entire race. We simply just want people to judge us as individuals, not as a whole."
"I think it's quite sad to be surrounded by people you don't trust, yet continue to live with. Participate with. Maybe you're here to 'feel us out,' or something along those lines. Whatever it is, you are here simply to get a grasp of your powers. Once that is done, you're free to choose to do whatever you want to do in life. Well, that's not to say we're holding you prisoner here, you're free to do whatever you wish in general. You agreed to attend this school." She said writing some things down and closing her notebook.
"But with that said, you are a mutant, one of us. We will do all we can to protect you and others. Should you wish to ever join that effort, we will always be here. If not, then at the very least allow us to help you along with your mutation and powers. It's the least we can do." She smiled.
"Well then, that was the end of that. That's your assignment for the day. Truth be told, we were given a high report for you to join the Xmen's junior class and assist us with some missions, but it sounds like you're not too interested in that. And that's completely fine, we were just gauging interest. No offense taken, hopefully none given."
---
Sechs
"Just about a perfect replica, yeah. Each of the Xmen have a replica of themselves in here for training purposes. As to what Rogue can do, oh boy she's dangerous. Super strength, flight, and she can zap your life and powers by just touching you. Be sure to be careful around the real her if you see her skin exposed. It's not her fault, it's just her abilities." He explained.
Getting a second shield ready Sechs progressed a little closer towards Rogue. As he got closer, he noticed the simulation was spawning cars where she was, so there would seem to be an infinite loop of cars at her disposal as they were literally appearing out of nowhere within her reach.
Avoiding a linear path, Sechs would go towards Rogue with a less than straightforward approach.
Rogue grabbed a car that had appeared before her, and she was going to throw it at Sechs again. As she did, the car again slammed on top of him. This time, however, the shield did not break. However, the car on top of his shield was heavy, and he'd have to let it go in order to continue to advance forward.
"Stronger shield that time! Very nice!" Kurt cheered from a rooftop. "Alright, you're closer to her now. She probably won't throw any more cars! ..She'll probably try and use them as close ranged weapons now!" He warned.
Kurt was correct about Sechs' location at least. He was around only 20 yards away from her now.
---
Ishbel
"But of course! We teachers all worried about you. We share same concern, but I happen to spend a little more time with you, so I know you better I think."
"M-metal?" He hesitated. "Is what I do, but why?" He said transforming into his metal form. After he transformed, Ishbel attacked him with a fiery hug. "O-oh! Good thing I wear X-men clothing out here. Fire resistant, heh heh. Oh, little child.." He said embracing her back.
"If not in my metal form, I may also have a small tear in my eye too. But only little one!" He laughed. "Your secret is safe with me. I understand emotions. I may be big, but my feelings are big too." he smiled.
"Is good name. Not taken either." He nodded.
"HA HA! So plan worked!" Colossus laughed, interrupting Ishbel. "I gave Robbie task of watching others. Is not usual 'Xmen-in-training task' but Robbie has low self esteem. By giving him authority, I wanted to give him confidence, but I also wanted to test if power would go to his head, but he seems to be doing well with it. The boy, I think, thinks too much. Is hard for him sometimes. But a good test I think for him." He chuckled.
"Is probably for the best. No bad blood between you two as of now. He only wishes to do his best to become Xmen. Do not worry about relationship with him. It will improve as you go on missions with him. He said continuing his garden work.
"You mentioned you are a hot head. Tell me, how is your temper control been since you have been here? Seen improvements" He asked.

Ishbel was feeling better after letting go, lighter and less burdened, but she still had work to do. "Scorch" Ishbel repeated, almost as if tasting it in her mouth, how it sounded out loud. "I think I like it" she nodded, soon returning to matters more serious. "We will be fine I guess, he's a good kid, even if he gets on my nerves from time to time" she agreed with Colossus, but of course, the matter of her temper remained.
"I'd say that my temper is as bad as ever, not gonna lie" Ishbel admitted. "But here I'm finding less and less things that trigger it, besides the training thing early while I was adapting to the school, or the lake thing" she considered. "Having Hank's thing" she wriggled the wrist with the bracelet, "also puts me more at ease. The stress of being liable of deadly accidents was horrible, and the only way of keeping my powers off was spending the day completely stunned by tranquilizers" she remembered, not wanting to return to that.
"Having Sam close is also reassuring in a way I guess" she said in a lower voice, blushing slightly. "But yeah! I know it's something I have to work on!" Ishbel promptly changed topics. "I... I don't know how though. How does one do to make sure you feel the appropriate amount? Not too much or too little? It sounds impossible to me" she sighed.
