For the past two weeks, the students got more familiar with their new home. Going to class, getting lectures of scholarly topics, training their powers, associating with others and so on. Hate it or love it, so long as they lived in the mansion, this was their lives now. But for how long? What did the future hold for them? As teenagers, some don't take the time to think about it, but it is a constant theme around the X-mansion. "What does the future hold for mutants?" "How will you change the world?" Typical philosophical mumbo jumbo that not everybody appreciated. Even with that said, though, was it worst than their previous lives? Some couldn't say that it was. So, in happiness or content, they'd continue their lives at the X-mansion. Monday morning; A typical day where dread hangs over everyone due to the lost weekend. Time for school, but at least everyone is starting to get the hang of it all, hopefully. Normal Monday morning, it seemed as everyone was in class. Today's teacher is Mr. McCoy, or Beast. "Hello class. Today we will be doing something slightly different, as opposed to our normal morning lectures. This morning I Have a paper for you all, and on it is an assignment for the day. Think of it as homework. After you get your assignment, you are free to go for the day." He smiled gathering some paperwork. "So...we have a free day?" "I'd hardly call it 'free' in the sense that you are using, as the assignment is due in tomorrow's class, but as we are creatures blessed with free will, I suppose every day could be considered a free day.""Alright! Free day!" Everyone was assigned a paper, just one paper, and it had an assignment for everyone there. "Ishbel: Report to the school garden. Sechs: Report to the music room. Jake: Report to Jean Grey's room. The students took their papers and read their assignments. Some groaning, some okay with their assignments. How would the students react to their 'free day?' === OOC: Go ahead and react to this post in any way you wish, and head over to your assignment.

Ishbel was slumped over her desk, having slept a bit poorly those past couple of days. She had healed of her injury just fine, even if it hurt for a few days, but that wasn't it. The journal she had been making the effort of writing as she had been counseled to had made her examine some unexpected stuff about herself and now she was all confused. She tried to get her mind away from that, wondering what was the real reason Melissa and her brother were gone, wondering if she could have done things differently, if she wasn't to blame for their disappearance... None of that helped. At least she wouldn't have to worry about Hank's lectures going over her head and making her think about stuff she didn't want to think about. Ishbel didn't know how to feel about the assignment, since her flames weren't the best when it came to plants. Oh, maybe Colossus would be there? Gardening was among his tasks last time they talked and... he wasn't that bad of a dude. Well, whatever was the issue, at least she wouldn't be cooped in the classroom for long. "I'll take my wins, no class today" Ishbel smiled to her friends. Both Jake and Sechs had been there for her when things go south, so even the brash girl had been more amicable to them these past weeks, and it wasn't just because she got cake the last time. "Music sounds so cool for you" she nodded to Sechs once she had peeked about what were their assignments. "And I don't think Jake will mind the redhead..." she joked, wriggling her brows to him. Ishbel looked at the paper, she had to know. What did Sam get as an assignment?

Jake grinned and snorted.
He couldn't laugh, not anymore, but Ishbel's cheerfulness was infectious and over the past couple of weeks he had needed that.
Oh he had been his usual relaxed and good natured self but since Melissa had disappeared something had been eating at him. He was warm and friendly to students, often being outright protective, but to the teachers he had been distant. Polite, and cooperative but wary.
"Yea, redheads are great, but I think she's into Mr Summers." He broadcast with a grin. "Just my luck to be passed over for a guy with a pole up his ass."
His telepathy had come on in leaps and bounds and with only a little effort he kept the broadcast to Ishbel, Sechs and Sam.
"See you guys for lunch yea?"

SECHS
As time flew by, Sechs had been getting more accustomed to the school beat and hopefully it hadn't been too eventful since the lake incident. Back in class with Mr. McCoy, they were given an assignment and had to report to certain locations in the school. He tilted his head, his tentacles naturally floating around him or resting on his shoulders.
-I wonder what this is all about...-
He ponder, looking at the other assignments.
-Gardens huh? -
He gave an encouraging smile to Ishbel.
-Maybe you'll get to do meditation.-
He then nodded to Jake, meeting up for lunch sounded like a good idea and somewhat, this little routine just felt nice. To actually have company that wanted you around. This was nothing like the streets, and even if he was still timid about big gathering, that fear had slowly been fading away the past weeks.
-Alright, see y'all at lunch!-
He said, waving good-bye to them and heading toward the music room.

Each student looked at their assignment and pondered what the day would hold for them.
"Garden for Ishbel, Music room for Sechs, and Sweet Ms Grey's room for Jake? Johns got the bad end of the stick!" Johns complained about his assignment. "Two page essay on a role model you have. Be shape shifted as them while you're writing it. You guys get to go somewhere, and Johns has to write a paper! Ugh!"
"Oh. Bummer. Sorry, Johns." Sam came approaching the group. "Nurse's office for mine. Gonna be reporting there for the day. Wonder if I'll be doing any medical stuff today.." Sam stated showing her lack of enthusiasm of what that may entail. "You guys have places to report to too huh? Wonder what you guys'll do. I doubt Sechs goes in to study music since he's already good at it. ...You're definitely in for a lecture Jake. And garden? Woah maybe you will be meditating." She joked to Ishbel. "Well, whatever it is we're doing, good luck. I just hope I don't have to see blood or anything gross. Later you guys."
With that, the group departed from class to go to where they were assigned.
---
Ishbel
To the garden.
Ishbel had to wonder what was in store for her at the garden. One idea she had was Colossus there waiting for her. Whatever it was, it was her assignment to get there and figure out what was in store for her. She approached the garden outside of the mansion and didn't see anyone just yet. Was she supposed to be here alone?
"Ah. Ishbel. Good to see you here today." The large Colossus appeared behind her carrying a number of gardening tools. "Today is my day for the garden. Come, join me." He invited her to the garden. "You are probably wondering why we are meeting like this, yes? Is simple, really. The professor asked for a few of the students to meet with teachers, one they are feeling comfortable with. I think feeling the comfort with me, yes?" He looked for confirmation. "We have many wonderful teachers here. But not everyone can get along with everyone. But, I think you and I get along." He nodded. He set some of the gardening tools down.
"Today, we will be doing some gardening together. But you did not bring gardening clothes. This is fine, as you did not know. So I will be doing the dirty work. I will only ask for small things of you. Like, can you please fill this watering can with the hose there." He pointed to a nearby hose. He took out a large tool that looked like a garden hoe, but an above average sized one that looked comfortable for him to use. He struck it to the ground and began dragging it.
"Is been almost a month since you are being here, Ishbel. Tell me how you are enjoying schooling here. Any troubles? Any complaints? You can tell me, I am good secret keeper."
---
Jake
"Eh, he's not my type, but Scott is cool. Heard he's a hell of a leader. Guess you got to have something up your butt to run a team."
After confirming lunch plans, Jake headed over to Jean Grey's office. As he was turning the corner, he heard two familiar voices speaking. The distant voices turned into perceptible voices from Jake's distance.
...some problems on your hands, Miss G."
"Yes, we are aware of some issues that may be present, but we still see value in searching out every opportunity in our students."
Seemed like Jean and Robbie were talking to one another.
"I'm always happy to help when needed, but just know some of em already hate me."
"I read the lake incident report, you did well, given the situation. I'm sorry they couldn't see the whole picture, but they'll turn around. The six that were chosen to meet with teachers today all were chosen for a reason."
"Jake is the only one qualified on that list, so far. Still a bit reserved, that one, but he'll come around. He's the best one out of that list. That Ishbel, though, gonna give you a hard time. Same with that Sex kid."
"Sechs."
"Aww dang it. I always mess that one up." Robbie laughed. "That one's got a problem with authority too. Can't blame em, that's for sure. But still, he's not getting any better as of yet. Sam is a weird one, but I can't blame her given her power. The one named-"
"Ah, Robbie. Can you excuse me? A student has arrived." Jean said, and Jake instantly knew he was the one being talked about.
"Oh, is it that time already? Guess I talked your ear off again. I'll head back and see if there's anything I can address. G'day, ma'am." Robbie said turning the corner. "Hey thur Jakey. Kick today's ass." Robbie smiled.
"Jake, please come into my office. Thank you for coming promptly. ..SO. Do you know why I called you here today? She asked in a stern manner.
---
Sechs
Sechs headed to the music room as instructed. He'd been there so many times already in the last couple of weeks that it was almost muscle memory to him at this point. As he went in he heard the sound of the piano playing. Badly. He heard the sounds of the piano playing badly. It sounded like a child heard a song on piano, and was horribly trying to copy it from their bad memory.
As he went into the room, he saw a blue blur at the helm of the piano, trying their best to play something.
"Oh Sechs. Good of you to come." Nightcrawler, or Kurt said noticing Sechs' arrival. He went up to Sechs with a smile and patted him on the shoulder. "Today we will be hanging out. Just us two. Isn't that great?" He smiled.
"O-oh! I'm supposed to ask you. ..With a stern face and voice? Umm.." He shook his head and tried his best to make a stern face, but he just puffed out his cheeks a little bit. It looked more pouty than stern. Total 180 from his previous happy self a second ago."Do you know why you are here, young man?"

SECHS
As he got to the music room, he started to hear piano...horrible piano and he couldn't help but cringe a bit. Like nails on a chalkboard. He stepped into the room to see the culprit behind the notes, only to find his savior behind the blacks and the whites. When Kurt walked up to him, Sechs wasn't sure if the blue mutant was being serious or not. Raising an eyebrow, he tilted his head, the tentacles following the movement.
-Hmm...Judging from the hear bleeding I just got from your melody and your face, I'd say I'm probably here to give you piano lessons..or I've done something to irritate the teachers seing as we'll be ''hanging out'' you and me.-
He said in german and showing the little piece of paper he had gotten. Not that he minded spending time with Kurt, he did like him as a person and he did owe him and Jake his life. It was thanks to the professor that he was able to speak and understand english, but speaking his own tongue once in a while was nice. Though despite his words, Sechs was happy to see Kurt, he just had no idea of why he was summon on a one on one time with a teacher.
-So...why am I here?-
He ask, sneaking his way toward the piano and playing a little tune on it.
--------------------------------------------- 3 in performance, piano to play a one hand tune on the piano while listening to Kurt.

Someone was going to have to watch on Johns while he wrote a two page essay? Oh hell, Ishbel didn't know if that meant punishment for the shapeshifter in the form of a dull task or for the teacher who would have to watch it happen. "That sucks dude" she agreed as Sam approached. "Meditating or getting another gentle reprimand by Colossus, I wonder what took so long to chew me on the lake incident" she shrugged, sure that she would hear about it. "I hope you get an easy, gross-free day" she smiled to Sam. "Lunch it is!" she waved, walking away to the gardens.
Not a surprise, the big and well meaning Russian was there, loaded with tools to the brim.
"Understanding... I guess?" Ishbel admitted. "It's a bad look for the resident rebel girl to agree with a teacher, but you are a good one" she nodded. "Clothes can be cleaned and I don't mind getting dirty" she said when Colossus limited the work she was up to do. "I got plenty dirty on the workshop with my dad and brother, I doubt some mud is harder to clean than motor oil" Ishbel smiled, remembering the good times.
"Almost a month..." she reflected on it. "It's fine, I made cool friends... but I think that what happened has me labeled in the eyes of the students that don't know me. Rumors are wild. I'm trouble. I'm rebellious" Ishbel sighed, filling the watering can as she ran her mouth.
"Nobody knowing what happened to Melissa and her brother doesn't help my case either" Ishbel looked at Colossus, maybe he would share something. "People fill the gaps with their imagination, and I can't help but think I could have managed things differently" she admitted, finishing with the watering can and closing the hose's faucet.

Jake nodded to Robbie as he passed him by offering him a fist bump.
It was probably a good idea that the teachers had someone reporting on incidents that happened around school, teenagers with super powers needed management. Jake didn't hold any animosity toward him but a snitch was still a snitch and it meant he couldn't really trust him. Melissa was gone, the teachers had allowed her to get out of hand whilst clearly unstable and that was on them.
Jake stood relaxed but at relative attention, the way his mother had shown him that air force officers did. It wasn't about subservience but respect and confidence she had said. There could be no relationship without those things so he took the lesson to heart.
“G'day Miss G. No, no idea.”
He wasn't going to be intimidated, he didn't care enough about her for that but he wouldn't start off being confrontational.

Sechs
"Wh-what? Oh come on, I'm not that terrible. ...right?" He laughed. "I never really played instruments before, although I took care of some while I lived in the church as a boy. My friend would play a song, and I hadn't thought about that song until I looked at the piano. I guess I am not very good at imitating it." He laughed embarrassed.
"Not even going to guess, huh? Well that's fine. Jean said that maybe students will confess something if you questioned them in that way, ha ha, sorry." He said straightening up. "Each student has been assigned to something, be it a writing activity, physical activity, or to report to a teacher. Today you were chosen to hang out with me. And today, we will be going to the Danger Room just us two." He nodded. "Lately, in class, you've been noticed for your powers and how they are quite amazing." He said taking out a tablet device. "Telekinesis, force fields, and even ink abilities. You are impressive and lucky." He said putting the device away. "Today we wanted to see how good well you are in an 'advanced' situation. So they wanted us to hang out and play around in there. What do you think?" He asked.
---
Ishbel
"Am appreciating that you said that."
"Ah yes, did hear you and your brother are mechanics. Very good. Then you shall get dirty with me today. But, only a little bit." He smiled.
"Lots of things can contribute to how one looks at you. But, to label yourself is going too far, I think."
"Is a bad situation with Melissa and her brother. We do not know where they have gone. Even the professor is having trouble locating them. But, is not totally your fault. Some your fault, yes, but not all. We must be able to admit these things, yes?" He smiled again. "But that is not why I bring you out here, Ishbel. You are not in trouble for what happened at lake. If you were, you would be hearing about it sooner than now." He chuckled. "No, I am here to just speak with you. Can speak about what happened about the lake, can speak to you about future, or about anything. Truly, I am all ears for you." He said continuing his gardening.
"Thank you for water. Since you are not minding getting dirty, can you grab leftover weeds I am pulling? Will be much help." He asked chopping away with his hoe. "I am a listening ear today for you, Ishbel. We will talk about what happened at the lake, but only if you wish to. So if there is something something you wish to speak about, now is really good time to do so. Otherwise, we will talk about what I wish to talk about." He offered.
---
Jake
As Jake walked by giving a fist bump to Robbie, Robbie returned the bump.
"Yeeeaaahhh" He nodded to Jake passing him by after the bump.
"Well, I called you in here for just a little chat. You're not in trouble, or anything, if that's what you were wondering. I mean, what would you be in trouble for? From what I have been hearing, you've been a model student." She smiled. "I wanted to know how you were doing? In school, in life? The teachers simply wanted to meet with some students who have shown to be exemplary. You fit in that mold. So, some students were asked to meet teachers in other areas for the same type of chat, or perhaps a physical activity. You unfortunately scored a talking to with me. ...sorry about that." She smiled. "Maybe not the most exciting activity, or I may not be your first choice for a teacher, but the Professor requested it, so I suppose you're stuck with me for a bit." She nervously laughed.
"So..." she started off slowly. "As a student who has shown exemplary qualities, I wanted to know....how's it going?" She simply asked.

Jake looked for a few moments apparently confused, then relaxed and grinned an uncertain grin.
"Um, so, I don't want to cause offence or anything cause if I was gonna have a personal tutor I'd definitely have chosen you. But, are you aware you are really bad at this?"
He reached up and scratched his head in apparent awkwardness.
"Do you mind?" He said pointing to a chair in the room. She had forgotten to ask him to sit, not offered a drink, started the conversation confrontationally.
It was the same thing, everything was strange, and he kept coming back to the question... why.
Why was the professor not acting? Why were kids with emotional issues and superhuman powers not monitored more closely? Why was a teacher being so clumsy in their first meeting? Why had he lost control of his body at the lake?
None of it made sense and the list of questions just kept piling up.
Was the lake thing maybe....
"So, how it is going..."
He sighed and sat down
"Honestly, I don't know. I guess maybe I'm getting a bit of culture shock. Hanging out with people who have super powers is kinda intimidating. I think the whole thing with Melissa spooked me more than I realised. I mean you know intellectually that the kid next door has guns, but seeing him use them on someone is a different matter."
He gazed off into the middle distance.
"I keep on asking myself questions. Should I have stopped her more forcefully? How did it get to the stage where she was so out of balance that she lashed out like that? Where were the teachers when she was flipping out?"
He shrugged again and looked at Miss Grey.
"Is it hard being a teacher here?"

SECHS
Sechs nodded slowly at Kurt's explanation of his attempt at the piano.
-I see, I was merely joking...didn't mean to be rude, sound like that was a good memory...-
He said apologistically. Trying to piece together the song that was played from what he heard and his extensive knowledge of piano song, he tried replaying it properly while listening to the rest of what Kurt had to say.
-She sounds like a sneaky one...trying to corner a student is not exactly forthcoming of a teacher...-
When Kurt mentionned the Danger room and how he had been noticed, Sechs stopped playing, his fingers hanging just above the blacks and whites. He should have been more careful...by coming here, all he wanted was to stay low profile and learn how to control his powers so they wouldn't hurt others. But now they wanted to test him in more advanced situation, not just teach him how to control them.
-...Lucky? How am I lucky? -
He asked, turning back toward the young teacher, a frown expression upon his usually more passive features.
-How is having to live in the streets, growing tentacles on your head and discovering your a freaking monster by hurting your own crew and having to pretend to be FU**** dead's suppose to be lucky? -
He realized he had just lashed out at him, and while he knew Kurt didn't had any bad intention behind his words, that did riled him up quite a bit. Thankfully, nothing went flying in the room nor exploded, which was already good news. After the anger subsided, which came quickly as his demeanor usually was, he just sat down there a moment and took a few deep breath. He hadn't realised how heavy all of that had been burdening him. What he had now, a roof on his head, not having to worry about food, a bed to sleep in, and most of all, he still had his life. He was lucky...to still be alive.
Shifting his eyes toward the blue teacher, he gave him a very small yet sad smile.
-I'm sorry...you are right...I am lucky...but probably not for the reasons you are thinking of...-
He got up.
-Sorry I lashed out at you...let's call it even for the piano comment...-
He headed toward the door.
-Let's go...-

So it was true, not even the teachers knew where Melissa and her brother were. She heard that the Professor could locate their kind with ease, but what did it mean that he couldn't? Were they too far? Was someone else involved? Did bigots reach them and killed-
No, Melissa would kick their asses, right? No way she was dead.
Ishbel was thankful to have something physical to do, to get a bit dirty helping so her mind didn't focus on sinister thoughts, but she couldn't flee from herself.
"The lake incident is living rent free on my head" Ishbel finally talked after a few moments of silent work. "The things I could have done better, the wrong decisions I made, the right ones I didn't... I know we can change it, I know that my character is-" she sighed. "But I couldn't stay idle, I tried my best to reach to Melissa, perhaps we had a shared pain we could build some trust on or something..." she shook her head.
"It didn't work, so at the end of the day I can't help but wonder if I should have stayed put. I guess that the incident can be solved now" she sighed, returning to the task in silence.
There was something else in her mind those days though, but who could she talk to about that? Her brother was a no, Jake and Sechs... maybe but she'd put them in a weird position, and certainly Sam was out of the list.
"Can I ask you something different?" Ishbel voiced, almost not believing what she was doing but she had never been a coward. "Do you have someone you like... that way?" she asked awkwardly. "How do you know it's not just friendship?" she added, realizing something else while she talked. "And no, I don't have a crush for teach, this isn't it. It's just... moving from school to school I haven't got many chances to do a lot of friends, so now I'm not sure if I'm misreading things, my own feelings got weird these couple weeks and sometimes I feel like my face is burning and not in the mutant sense..." she rambled on, the fire atop her head flickering while she did so.

Jake
"Oh?" Jean questioned.
"No, by all means." She was taken back a little bit, answering audibly.
"I suppose that's understandable." she said leaving room for him to speak more.
"Much like yourself, others here are young and inexperienced. Not mentally developed, or matured. So, when confronted, sometimes they lash out. Sometimes you have a conscious that stops you from acting, or perhaps you didn't stop Melissa more forcefully because you realized it could have caused more harm than good. I cannot answer why you didn't act in that situation, but we're all glad you didn't. ..as to where the teachers were, well..." She started explaining, trailing off a bit trying to find words to explain. "It's not often the teachers are all called out at the same time. Just know that if we are all absent from the mansion, then you can assume a large threat is occurring that would require most if not all of us to tend to it. And yes, two weeks ago a large scale occurrence did in fact take place, to which it required all of us to act.." She sighed.
"Having to balance worldwide mutant support, school lessons plans, and life in general can prove to be difficult sometimes, yes.." She again sighed. "But not as hard as it is to deal with finding out you're a mutant with no support. And that's why this academy exists. You...understand that, right Jake?" She asked.
"You have come here to learn how to control your powers. As of now, you seem to have a decent grasp on your powers, but maybe more will come in later, that is to be seen. However, let's say you completely master your powers. You have no issues controlling them any more. I would like to ask you, what would you do then?" She asked him genuinely.
---
Sechs
"Oh, well no offense taken. I did not know you were being rude, I thought you were solely joking. But that little doodling you are doing with the piano somewhat seems like the song from my past! I will have to remember the song name so that I may give it to you to truly play it. My memory won't be able to fully recall how it goes."
"It is definitely not my style of teaching, but some students do prove to be more difficult than others. Some like to be a little mischievous, you know? So sometimes you do have to be a little more hard on others." He explained.
Then Sechs went on a teenage leveled tantrum that left Kurt still-faced. He did not respond during any of the words Sechs was saying, but instead waited patiently.
"Sechs, you are speaking to a three finger and toed demon with blue skin and a tail. You do not think I understand how you feel? What about the larger mutants here who have physical features way more noticeable than just tentacles from the head? What of those who have lost literally everything in their lives? Or those who do not know of anything from their past like me. ...you are among friends who understand you here. Despite how you may look, nobody here wants to kill you, or rob you, or hurt you and laugh at you. You are alive. You are lucky for those reasons as well." He sympathetically said.
"But despite all of that, I very much understand how you feel. This is all still new for you. But, before we go into the danger room, I wanted to explain something to you. We here at this mansion care for you. We care for all mutants. We want to help others just like us. Right now there are many other mutants who are going through what you and I have gone through, and they need help. This is why I am here. To help those who need help. I do not wish for others to go through that ever. If I can help them, then I will. That is my resolve." He nodded firmly.
You have a gift, many gifts actually. If you are able to help in any way, that would be amazing. But if you just wish to learn your powers and take control fo them, that is fine too. By just being here you are helping mutant kind all over the world. That is all we ask of you. To learn to control your powers, and learn to live in peace.." He said sadly.
"Today I was asked to take you to the danger room so that we can help improve your powers. ...a while ago at the lake, you stepped up in the face of danger in the form of an outraged mutant. You helped someone out by being there. Because of that the professor thinks of you as a kind and gentle soul who can help others as well. But, it is only if you want to. ..until then, we can help train your powers some more. I did not mean to bring any negativity here.."
---
Ishbel
"Hm. Please tell."
Ishbel explained what was laying heavy on her mind.
The situation was relayed in great detail to us all. We have come to understand that you did not act first. You tried to reason. Tried to use words instead of fists. This is the reason why we did not have you in trouble, young Ishbel. The teachers are very happy with you. Is how it SHOULD be done." He happily nodded.
He laughed. "I have said you have my ears, Ishbel. Go on."
"Oh!" The large man jumped up startled, dropping his farming tool. "Did....not...expect...this......" He said getting a bit embarrassed. "R-really? THIS is what you wish to talk about? Well. I did say anything, did I not? Heh heh.." He nervously laughed. "I am not so good at love myself, heh. But I understand what is happening." He nodded. This person. Do you admire them? Do you feel...romantic around them? Things like kissing, or wanting to hold hands? Romance is tricky, but is just friendship with kissing. Think of it like that.." He again said nervously. "Whether which there is someone I like, well this is private. But, the easiest and most sure way to know is to expose yourself more to this person. Friendships are special, but romance is more special. If this person is one you love, then it will be more than friendship, and it will be obvious after some time. Uhh...I think that is all I can say on this matter, ha ha ha. Ishbel, you are truly unique individual.."

SECHS
He hadn't thought about all the others. Of course he wasn't the only one in this situation, but he had lived a selfish life until now and this was not something that could be changed so easily. People had to fend for themselves. Who was he to pretend to be of help to others? Just a street thug who got a lucky power set. But he did listen to Kurt and he knew what he said was true. In the past few weeks he had realized he had potential, great potential. The teachers had praised him on a number of times already.
Once Kurt was done, the young German mutant let out a sigh.
-I...I realized all that...-
He said, looking at the floor, his tentacles swirled around his hands as he looked at them for a moment.
-I don't wish what I...we...went through on anyone...-
He said. He turned around and walked back toward Kurt, tilting his head on the side, looking at the blue skinned mutant straight in the eyes.
-Kind...and gentle soul...that a first for me...-
His tentacles somehow instinctively reached out for him, but he stopped them in their tracks before they did and turned back, unsure of why they did that.
-I don't know if I can help anyone...but you guys seems to believe I have that potential...-
His gaze shifted back to Kurt.
-Thanks...I mean...for saying all that...I'm...not alone...not anymore...-
He shifted his weight back and made for the door, slightly blushing.
-Alright...lets go...-

Ishbel dared to ask, even if the situation was a bit odd. Colossus had surprised her with his many sides, maybe the gentle gardening giant working on rage issues had also a romantic side to him. Maybe she fancied some other teacher, who knew. So Ishbel went for it and...
Oh no, he was one big awkward dude.
"Damn, that's something" she didn't want to deflate his mood. "Maybe I shouldn't have asked but I went and opened my big mouth so here we are" Ishbel laughed. "It's not bad advice, you know? Once I think of it" though she wondered how would she get more exposure with Sam, the one she slept with-, no, her roommate. Damn brain. Maybe it was just lot of changes and drama piling on and her latching to the one that had been there for her? She wasn't sure, having friends was also kinda new.
"Okay, I got some clarity from that, thanks for sharing even if it was odd" Ishbel nodded, returning to work on the garden. "We both could use some romantic advice though..." she smiled. "So, another question, about sexual education-" Ishbel started to laugh, interrupting herself. "Sorry teach, that was just a joke, don't want to see your head running hotter than mine" she chuckled, enjoying a bit of friendly ribbing with Colossus of all people. "Now for real, I get the whole personal approach with the students and you said we aren't in trouble and all that. But some of the tasks today really differ from some students to another, poor Johns is having to write stuff" she said, quite more serious but still casual.
"What's this really about?" Ishbel asked, worrying that despite his words about not being in trouble some disciplinary action was planned. The fire in her hair flickered, uncertain.
