BACKGROUND Siegetz's grandfather, Ziegander, was a great hero and impeccable swordmaster. When he retired from heroics he founded the Knights of the Stars and took up the mantle of leadership under the cover of shadows and his public persona as a highly sought-after blacksmith. The group was a powerful force for good and recruited heroes from across the seven seas. When Siegetz's grandfather died, the mantle of leadership fell to his son, Siegetz's father.
Siegetz's father, Sigmund, wasn't the powerful hero that Ziegander was, but he was a shrewd, businesslike leader. He brought the Knights of the Stars modernity, wealth, and worldwide influence involving its members in World War II, Vietnam, and Desert Storm. By the end of his reign, Sigmund had converted the group of heroes into a veritable Private Military Corporation with wide coffers.
Siegetz was not a fan of his father's directions for the group, and when the mantle fell to his shoulders, he refused. He remained a member, but left the group, quite controversially, in the hands of an old friend, Thomas Fireheart, a.k.a. Puma, hoping the endeavor would bring him focus and purpose away from his shady and cold corporate life. Meanwhile, Siegetz began to wander the earth.
Occasionally, Puma has called Siegetz, an outstanding warrior recalling his grandfather's skill and virtue, back in on high profile missions, but he has fallen in with another group of heroes, these ones different than those he was used to fighting with. This group promised him more freedom and less politics. The Earth Institute of Heroes was dedicated to getting the right things done regardless of red tape.

Soft-psi ran strongly in his family, and though there had been a sort of "x-drought" through his relatives in the last few generations, the doctors and experts were saying that Hal showed great potential. Like his family's status with the House at large, Halcyon was modest enough, but well-liked by the other children his age. He made many friends, and few enemies. He excelled in school, but didn't concern himself with academics overmuch. He had an adventurous spirit, and as soon as he was done with his school work, his mind would always wander to the stories his grandmother had told him about the heroes of old, from before the cataclysm. He would come up with his own heroes and stories, writing and drawing in his free time. He and his closest friends would traipse through the wilderness pretending to be great heroes themselves on their way to great discoveries. Well, his modest, and picturesque life all changed soon enough. The House was in disarray. His parents were always upset with the other families. Soon Hal wasn't allowed to spend time with his friends anymore, although they snuck out to see each other anyway. A rift was tearing House Summers apart, and factions were being built. Eventually, House Alexon declared itself as an independent entity, and it became all but impossible for Halcyon to see his friends. Now, he found himself making enemies on almost a daily basis. It was maddening. He didn't understand it. So, he ran away. It was difficult at first. Security between the two Houses was very heavy, and unforgiving, on both sides. He was forced to take risks, and secret paths that he had found in his childhood with his friends. When he had made his final break, Halcyon was sighted by House Summers security and he had to run. Even his secret paths hadn't prevailed, and so Hal turned to areas he had never explored, forbidden areas. He crashed through the floor and found himself in what must have been a forgotten armory from centuries past. Armor, weapons, trinkets and trophies. And then something extraordinary caught his eye - a shield, perfectly round, concentric red and white bands, and a star in the center. When he touched it something even more extraordinary happened; Hal's mind reached out to a very different time and place. Images and emotions flew past at a frantic pace and he found it difficult to make any sense of it all. He concentrated desperate to find some meaning, and in it all the image of the shield surfaced again and again, and eventually he could make out the image of the man who had wielded it before. Captain America. Steve Rogers. Names and events, battles and triumphs, a world that was so different than his own. It felt somehow better, somehow more right. He knew what he wanted then. He snatched up the shield, and once he had made up his mind the images stopped. He had seen all he needed anyway. Something was wrong with his world and he was going to do everything he could to make it right. He continued to run, and his break into the ancient room made his escape all the easier. On the run, Halcyon had become something of a fugitive. He found it necessary to conceal his identity, even during his civilian affairs, but more than that he fashioned an alter ego. Designing a costume he took up the shield and became Outlaw Star protecting innocents and exposing the corruption and injustices of the government and Church whenever he could muster the courage. His costumed alter ego is officially a criminal of the state, although certainly not on any most wanted lists, and his secret identity is on the run from Houses Summers and Alexon. Life isn't easy for this young man. In time his mutant powers expanded and matured to the point that with his touch he can read minds as well as objects, analyze energy, and charge objects with energy of his own.

BACKGROUND Institutionalized for extremely violent and sociopathic behavior accompanied by a marked problem understanding of the consequences of his actions or the significance of others around him, Gene Renemardt, spent nearly two decades under treatment and learning how to connect to and cope with normative human social structure. In Gene's early twenties, a young new doctor, Sarah Ogden was brought in to deal with him, using experimental therapy techniques designed to stimulate his social growth by forming a strong, informal relationship between doctor and patient. During this time, embracing the pet name he was given by Sarah, Renemardt refused to answer to the name Gene, and began going by Angel. The success of this therapy on Renemardt's psyche seemed to be phenomenal. His attitude improved, he treated others with respect and care, his anger and violence plummeted dramatically. For the first time in his time at the facility, Renemardt displayed a desire for something resembling a normal life. He made friends, he participated in groups, he even created goals for himself. He was released from the facility at the age of 30 and maintained his close relationship with Sarah, even kept in touch with his friends within the facility.
However, outside the facility, before Angel Renemardt could begin to work toward any of his goals, he came face to face with darkness. It seemed to be everywhere he turned. The world outside was violent, dishonest, and corrupt. The people outside the facility didn't care about helping each other, all they did was steal from and take advantage of each other. The old fury grew within him, and Angel decided that his new mission would be to show this dark world that their evil ways would not be tolerated just as his evil ways were not tolerated. He hoped that eventually he would teach them how they ought to live just as Sarah had taught him. He went into the night, and armed with that old, bottled up rage, and brutal force and struck down wickedness whenever he saw it. Soon, however he found himself in over his head, and Sarah nursed him back to health after a particularly bad beating.
Angel knew that if he was going to continue his mission he needed some extra insurance. With some help from former facility friends, he designed a costume of heavy body armor, flexible kevlar mesh sandwiched between plates of steel wire-mesh and tempered ceramics. The suit is insulated against heat, cold, and electricity and is fully waterproof. It contains internal air conditioning so that he is cool under normal circumstances, but it will supply heat if his temperature goes too low. His costume is all white, something Angel was clear on in the design process. He wanted criminals to know he was coming for them; he wanted to be clearly visible in the night. His chief engineer is a delusional, autistic teenager named Marcus, who Angel employs in the creation of mostly chemical weaponry. Angel tries not to rely on Marcus too often as he fears Sarah's reaction if she ever found out.
Renemardt now goes out into the night, under the name Uriel, which he learned to be the name of the Angel of Wrath, something he deemed poetic. In this time he's become something of a pop culture icon. He's developed espionage techniques and refined his fighting style to a professional level. His activities haven't gone unnoticed by facility staff who, apart from those that don't expressly assist him, are quite certain of his identity. Sarah, of course, knows by now as well what her friend is up to, and continues to take care of him, physically as well as mentally as his vigilantism requires. Angel clearly wants their relationship to be something that it is not, and Sarah often has to struggle against the inherent tension between them. She sees their relationship in a more maternal, elderly sister light, whereas he feels in love with her. He is eager to please her, and often comes to her when he finds himself in a moral dilemma.

BACKGROUND As a member of the Wolf Clan of the Cherokee people, Chayton Aniwaya learned much in the ways of war, of cunning, and of stoicism. The only child of a prominant Native American family, he spent his youth honing centuries old Cherokee fighting techniques and earned the rank of Warrior even before he had completed his trial of manhood. After he turned 16 years old, already a formidable fighter, he was drawn in by the hustle and bustle of the nearby metropolis Liberation City. It was here he decided that he would live.
As Chayton grew into an adult he saw the East Side of the city in which he lived become more and more corrupted by criminals and thugs. Powerful gangs took hold of the neighborhoods, and though the world's hero, the Steel Sentinel, often put down the worst of it, the lesser violence and filth was still more than enough to leave a bad taste in anyone's mouth. Chayton took it upon himself to police the area as much as he could using his skills as a warrior to protect the innocent and punish the guilty.
At a 30 minute commute, the Blackhawk Cherokee Reservation was Chayon's home and where he rode his motorcycle to everyday to spend a couple hours teaching the children the ways of the warrior. When the Steel Sentinel had apparently died, Chayton decided that his normal patrol routine wasn't cutting it. He paid a visit to his clan's medicine man, seeking council. Seeking power.
Chayton was told a tale of a mountain cave, of an angry god, and of dark spirits. It was a myth, so the medicine man claimed, but it was a tale Chayton was familiar with. His grandmother had once told him the story of the Dark Harbinger, a grim avenger whose wielded the souls of the damned as his weapons - and she had believed it. Chayton desperately wanted to do more for his city, and if his grandmother believed it, that was enough. Given instructions by the skeptical medicine man, Chayton made his way to the mountain cave, he painted images on himself of the eagle, the wolf, and the storm cloud, and he fasted, praying to the angry god of vengeance to give him the power to rid his city of evil. He remained in the cave for 6 days, and near death, in the middle of a terrible storm he emerged, having given up, but also feeling called by something beyond the pale. He was immediately struck by lightning, but rather than dying, he felt himself changing. What was once a man was now a giant, shadow eagle! He soared through the air, his feathers like smoky, dark clouds streaking through the skies. When he landed back at the foot of the mountain he changed back into himself on his own, a simple concentration of willpower. He took up his father's tomahawks and his mother's falconer's gloves and designed a makeshift costume for himself. Soon he became the American Eagle, a force fit to strike fear into the hearts of the East Side gangs, and criminals the city over.

Which would be nice if it didn't mean that somebody more evil and more powerful had killed him and stolen his power. But enough speculation. On that day the Hellspyke tore up from the middle of New York City, and the dark power responsible for that feat cut the world off from all manner of extradimensional forces and pathways. The Darksoul that I had once used to exploit alternate Hell dimensions for power and transportation, that once scarred my chest, faded instantly. The transition from Demon Prince to mystical mortal was... painful. Like having a burning pitchfork rammed into my chest, and then broken off inside me. Anyway, like every other shitty thing done to me as a result of my esoteric heritage I got over it. I moved on. The Son of Satan died, and Damon Holsterm, Spirit of Vengeance was born. No, I'm not really a Spirit of Vengeance, a rogue Ghost Rider, but I find the abilities I still have available pass for a reasonable imitation, and I'd much rather be associated with their heroism than the hellish nightmares of my past. I'm sure the Ghost Riders loyal to Mephisto will come for me soon, but that's much better than a rival Hell-Lord of much greater power coming for me personally.
