So, I was hunting Pokemon earlier tonight in Silver. I was on the Route south of Etureak, and I was looking for a Vulpix, because I needed a Fire Type, and Vulpix is one of my favorites. It was proving annoying for two major reasons. One, I kept running into Stantler, who refused to let me run away for some stupid reason, and two, I kept knocking out my target before I could catch it. So, I'm looking around, and stumble across another Pokemon. I'm begging for a Vulpix, so I can stop looking. Instead.....Suincine pops up. To show you how odd that is, think about this. I NEVER find these guys, ever. I see them once, and that's it. So, I was excited. I used my Noctowl to knock it out, but it wakes up, blasts my Noctowl, and takes off. So I heal up, and go back to hunting. I find a couple other Stantler, but no Vulpix. I find another Pokemon....and it's Entei! By this point, I'm to surprised to speak. I knock it out, and Swift it a couple times. But it wakes up, fries my Noctowl, and takes off. This is the luckiest day I've ever had. I think I need to buy a lottery ticket or something(I also won a couple hundred bucks at Bingo tonight).

I actually gave my DS and my nintendo Wii to my neice. Her mom wanted to get her a Wii for christmas for the educational and exercise games, but I never use my Wii or DS. So, I just gave it to them. She's only three, but it's getting cold and they don't get to go outside and play allot because she ends up getting sick.

One of the most awesome Gym battles I've had a long time.
I was taking on Morty(I think that's his name, he's the head of the Etureak City Gym). His Ghost Types are a royal pain most of the time, but I have a Kadabra, so it shouldn't be a problem. Anyway, my first Pokemon is my Hoothoot, which I've named Athena. Athena has to face down a level 23 Gastly, and she's only Level 18. Shame. But, since she's part Normal, she's nearly immune to Gastly's attacks. Only thing Gastly can do? Curse, which hits Athena with a poison like effect, but strips Gastly of half his hit points. My attack? Foresight. Which lets Normal type attacks hit Gastly. Next attack? Swift. Sayanora Gastly.
His next Pokemon is Haunter. No problem, my Kadabra(named Houdin after the famous magician) goes out and hits him with Confusion....and Haunter survives! Crud. Nightshade hits me....and Kadabra survives, as Night Shade ignores type, thankfully. Kadabra annhilates him with his next attack. But I can't use him against the next Pokemon, Gengar. Gengar will survive, and Shadow Ball will send Kadabra to the great beyond. So, I bring out my only option. Athena.
I use Foresight before anything else happens. But Gengar puts Athena to sleep with Hypnosis. I know his next move will be Dream Eater, the only attack that can hurt me. So I use an Awakening(I stocked up before the fight, knowing his love of Hypnosis), so Dream Eater fizzles. This goes back and forth for a bit, before Hypnosis fails. And Gengar gets a Swift in the face. Another fizzle, another hit. Gengar hits once more, but I have another Awakening to fix that. Another Swift...and Gengar's history!
His last Haunter goes down easily to Kadabra.
After the battle? Athena evolves to Noctowl. Suffice to say, that's one battle I'm really proud of.

That was pretty cool of you F-Bomb.

That was pretty cool of you F-Bomb. I second that. My Gym battles are usually pretty boring. I train a single Pokémon for battle, the rest for the fun of it. So when I battle a Gym Leader, I have a single pokémon like 20 levels over the G.L, and I one-hit K.O his pokémons one after the other. Same thing with the Elite Four and the Champions at the end. ;D It's maybe not exactly in keeping with the spirit of "Gotta catch 'em all", but one is all I need. The others I train seriously only when I'm the new Champion. ^_^

I'm the exact opposite. All my Pokemon tend to be the same level. I see a Level 10 on my team when the others are at 15-20 just makes me feel bad. I have to get him up stronger as fast as possible. Not to say I don't have Pokemon I won't use. I only have so many hours in the day after all. I have a few rules for my team...
It has to have a Fire Type. It just does. I love Fire Types to much not to include them.
It has to have a Water Type, or a Dragon Type, one of the two. And odds are, it's either Gyrados or Dratini.
It has to have a Flying Type. I love my birds.
Pyschic is a requirement. I hate poison types SO much, I want something to stomp on them easily.
An Electric type or a Grass type. Probably both, actually.

..continuing my bragging rant:
i once had an online gym. *yeah, cuz on the wifi you can play online and junk*
anyways, i ran a gym for about a week. but i had to stop. . .because i couldn't keep up with it. in all honesty, i dont know who could!!!
the rule to run an online gym is you have to answer every challenge. I'd be at work and get a message saying "you have 13 challenge requests" or at school saying "You have 3 more challenge requests"
..i couldn't keep up at all. . .so i had to quit...but it was pretty fun battling people who challenged ya for an online badge.
I ran the Ghost/dark gym ;D My pokemon team being:
*level 70 limit* and a 3 pokemon gym battle. -lvl 70 tyranitar -lvl 70gengar -lvl 70 Spiritomb
..ah fun times. . .

Is it bad I'm already thinking of ways to counter that team?
(A strong fighter, a normal type with Foresight, and a....I have no idea what that last one is, so I have no idea, but I'd guess the same thing)

But that does sound pretty cool, although that schedule is NUTS.

Yeah, i got beat a lot because people used the counter type pokemon to kill me.
however, when they FIRST fought me i usually won ;D
they came in mainly with psychic types to try to counter the ghosts (which tyranitar took care of) and when they'd use dark, my gengar would take care of em.
Spiritomb has no weakness at all, so he was a good throw in there too.
...and yes...the schedule was HELLA bad!!! Everytime i had a break from work or school i used it to fight off some kid in germany or something lol
When the challenge requests become too high, the online people have to let ya go and replace ya with someone who can take em all up.

That was pretty much my own way of doing things before, too, but then I found out how much I kicked butts with just one of'em. Also, training Pokémon after becoming a Champion takes much less time, so...... ugh. If I had more time, I'd probably do things the same way you do. But with the time I have on my hands I prefer the method I'm using now, lol. I don't really like Flying type. Psychic's great, but not my style. Fire and water... now we're talkin'. My one-man army pokémon is usually a Water of Fire type with the following moves if possible: WATER -Ice Beam -Brick Break -Earthquake -Either a Rock attack, Surf or something like that FIRE -Flamethrower -Brick Break -Earthquake -Either a rock attack or... don't remember, lol. Anyway, with those move sets, I can one hit K-O nearly any pokémons. Power overwhelming. BTW, ushima, you're right. You must have no life to be able to keep an online gym active 24/7. Or you must be Multiple man. Or Quicksilver. Or Immortus. lol.

But what is it exactly? What types is it?
Sounds pretty exhausting. I'm wondering who the heck CAN keep up with that kind of schedule.

(A strong fighter, a normal type with Foresight, and a....I have no idea what that last one is, so I have no idea, but I'd guess the same thing) Spiritomb is, like ushima said, a no weakness pokémon. However, as far as I'm concerned, it's not good enough all around for that small advantage to be nearly enough. A good elemental attack, fire or water or whatever type, of enough power will still destroy it relatively easy, weakness or not. Do not misunderstand me, though. It's a good pokémon to use... great, even. It's just that there are others out there far more worth it. EDIT: Ghost /Dark types, if I am not mistaken. No weakness at all.

what type is what? spiritomb? it's ghost/dark. *psychic has no effect on dark, and ghost is dark's weakness. Since it's a ghost type, it's own type doesn't effect it ) and yeah. . .i hear people who run gyms are usually 12 year old homeschooled kids lol
