I know I saw a 'Cosmic' D&R chart somewhere... will you be utilizing something like that, or sticking with the current D&R chart that caps at 10's? Mostly important for things like Strength and Speed I suppose.
Will motivations be plentiful for characters with ZERO reason to get along to be willing to work together? My ideal character (Gladiator) would obviously work with anyone necessary in protection of the Shi'ar... just a food-for-thought question. Lots of species and conflicts out there, and I've no doubt we're all bendy.
Galactic Time/History~ Is this generic-Marvel history (well, generic + the 313-spins)? Or will the up to date stuff i that whole annihilation wave stuff that I read online be part of the backdrop? Just some important stuff to fall into place (for instance, someone like Adam Warlock... who's own history is quite firmly tied to galactic events of great magnitude would need to know what, if any such events happened in the 313-verse).
Stone Count... I never say no to more stones, especially on a galactic scale! I *THINK* I can work with 80 if that's how the game flows though, so don't mind stone-happy-me in the corner ;-)

murpg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=setwork&action=display&thread=13078That is the timeline. I was thinking about Gladiator. Aside from my not knowing anything about him, I think there's an issue of motivation, since the Shi'ar aren't their traditional Marvel-ite selves in 313, and have very little motivation to care what happens to Earth. One could argue that since all of Reality is at stake, Gladiator might see the Shi'ar as a sub-set of "reality" and get involved... but he isn't the kind of cosmically aware guy who would even be aware of what was going down.

So... No cannon-cosmic events of note as of yet then?
With the Mkraan crystal assumedly in Shi'ar custody, I figured a little tipoff that the Shi'ar Empire is in danger might suffice... But I can always go another direction if we can't come up with something!

The majority of Earth-ers haven't even had any notion that there are other intelligent beings out there, but there is a connection between the Shi'ar and Earth.
The Shi'ar were in the distant past caught in a war between the Kree and Skrull. Their Majestrix at that time fled an attack on the Shi'ar homeworld aboard a ship, that crashed on Earth. That ship is the source of the technology that certain people (Apocalypse & Charles Xavier, to name two) have used to get the "technological edge" that they possess.
The current situation on the Shi'ar homeworld is pretty similar to the Marvel standard (before they unfortunately ran into humans...), except that they have no vast space Empire. The Kree/Skrull War pretty much took care of that, and Shi'ar is more like the West Virginia of the Galaxy than one of it's great Empires.

So, in theory, Gladiator may be more 'independant' in the 313-verse (or have proven less resiliant to Galactus' attempts to recruit him)?
Again, it's not a huge deal if no :-p
Plenty of other fish in the cosmic sea to draw upon. They just won't have that bad@ss mohawk!

Gladiator isn't even Shi'ar himself, is he? He doesn't look like one. He's probably from some other planet that wouldn't necessarily be part of the Shi'ar Empire in this reality. So yeah... I mean there are a lot of possibilities for working him into the game. Heck, even if he's the Praetor of the Shi'ar, we're creative people, we can work him in. Maybe I'll have to send one of the other PCs to recruit him. My only problem with Gladiator, really, is that lame@ss mohawk

This... No way. That mohawk is awesome. I pitty a fool! YOU SAID ADAM WARLOCK!!! Hmm... Reminded me of this... (about 25 seconds in... "Squirrel!") I don't think anybody DID say Adam Warlock. But yeah, he'd be a fitting candidate.

Got side-tracked.
No Cosmic D&R chart. The D&R Chart we have (IMO) doesn't "dead end" at 10. It suggests a logical progression that makes an actual, physical chart drawn out to infinity totally unnecessary.
I'd like people to try to work with around 80 stones, and if you really need more to make a concept work, we'll go on a case-by-case basis. My thing on stone counts is; stone counts are a guideline at best. The right (or wrong) player can create ridiculously powerful characters with very few stones, while I just built a 50 stone CAD the other day that would get absolutely spanked in a fight with a street cop.

Roger that bossman. I've got an old Guardian CAD lying around I'll toy with some (never did figure out how much it would have cost).
