I have a question. Who would win?

Clearly it's Dr. Who. Why? Well, two reasons.
1) Dr. Who ALWAYS wins. Always. Sometimes it takes him 2 or 3 episodes, but Dr. Who wins each and every confrontation with everything, all the time. It's actually starting to get a little bit boring.
and
2) Galactus is always defeated by cleverness. Dr. Who defeats everything with cleverness. Ergo, Galactus will be Dr. Who's b... special jail friend.

I thought this came up a couple of months ago when I was watching Dr. Who. Oh well, it's time to Re-Debate. What do you think could happen?
Galactus is all powerful, but Dr. Who is uber smart, and surpasses human physical limits. He's fought off fleets of dalek and cyberman fleets. I can't count how many times he's saved the world, but likewise Galactus is cosmically strong, and destroyed countless worlds.
I think that The Doctor would try to reason with Galactus by finding an unlimited power source for him to feed on, and that exist in the whoverse, but Galactus has tried to cure himself of the hunger before, but never been able too.
Like anyone else who's fought Galactus Dr. Who would probably go after the Ultimate Nullifier, or something else. He'd even figure out a way to disable the herald, and probably get past the defenses of the ship.
Of course, Dr. Who is the kind of character to almost manipulate events until unfolding so there's no telling how it could play out. I know that Galactus is far more powerful, but he's been outsmarted before, and nobody is smarter than The Doctor.
I'm a petty big who fan though, but other opinions are welcome. I would actually like to see this battle though. It would be pretty epic.

Dr. Who always wins. Galactus has never won. Not once. He even failed to eat Zenn-La. The outcome is obvious.
Of course along the way, The Doctor would teach us a lesson about how evil humans really are and we would all feel bad for harshly judging the enormous space god who wanted to eat our planet.

Very true, he does always win. It's amazing how they can still make Dr Who as entertaining as it is after fifty or so years of its creation.

Fact; Lex Luthor (ostensibly a normal, albeit insanely intelligent and wealthy, human being) has far more "on screen" victories in comics than Darkseid and Galactus combined.
So... yeah. Being an evil space god doesn't pay in the comics.

I think that is because characters like Darkseid, and Galactus would be very hard to write for. How do you make a comic about a big monster going around eating everything interesting? Eventually would would run into a situation like Alexander The Great when he conquered everything then wept. Eventually he died and his generals took over, but I still know how how a writer could do a regular Galactus comic that last.

The reason's simple.
Lex Luthor wins, it may not be that big a deal. He may get richer, or humiliate Superman, but the damage usually isn't permanent.
If Darkseid or Galactus wins, whole PLANETS die. Simply put, the stakes are to high to give those guys a win.

Simply put, the stakes are to high to give those guys a win. ... which makes their existence, ultimately, pointless. Come on, that excuse is weak. They can win once in a while without having to achieve their ultimate goal. The major baddies don't HAVE to be worthless. Comic book writers are just lazy.

That might work for Darkseid, but not Galactus.
His major goal is eating planets. Far as I know...he doesn't actually DO anything else.
Their point is to create massive unstoppable threats that must be stopped NOW.
It's not a very good point, but that's why they exist.
Not going to argue the lazy point.

Galactus could have smaller, planet devouring-related goals, that he could actually succeed at once in a while. He just doesn't.
The only "victory" I ever remember him getting is when Silver Surfer pissed him off, so he made a force field that stopped SS from leaving Earth. Admittedly, that was awesomely prickish.

Didn't that lead SS to having to fight Hulk (Because Hulk wanted to leave Earth but wasn't able to jump off into the stars though he did jumped far. Of course Hulk went to just force Silver Surfer to get him out of Earth instead of asking nicely.) Hulk lost by the way. Oh and SS was gonna cure Hulk ,after the latter was knocked out, once for and a while but stopped when Hulk woke up and started to attack him again.
