Yeah, I have to agree with shenron there... 8MM was a great movie, but it's awfully hard to watch.

I found the trailer.

The trailer was generic enough that I didn't hate it... until the very end. Pee jokes. Really Marvel?

I am assuming that you didn't believe Dhark when he stated that part was actually in the trailer?

Oh, I believed him. Dhark is someone I trust as much as you can trust anybody on the internet. It's just actually more painful to watch than it is to hear about.
That said, the movie actually looks pretty generic. Not really "bad" so much as just "not good."

I have a question. Would you considered Ghost Rider the world's darkest hero?

I have a question. Would you considered Ghost Rider the world's darkest hero? I would consider that to a be a statement that is so arbitrary as to have no meaning. What does "darkest" mean? What's the criteria? *shrugs* I love Ghost Rider. I'm a huge fan of the mythos and even though I vastly preferred Dan Ketch to Johnny Blaze, I wanted the first movie to be really good. My biggest complaint, though, was that Nick Cage sucked all of the 'dark" right out of the character with his cheesy non-acting and listening to the Carpenters. So I CAN say this; I wouldn't consider the movie version of Ghost Rider to be anything approaching the "darkest" On an objective level, I think we would have to say that a lot of other heroes have been at least as dark as the comic book Ghost Rider. The Hulk can be pretty dark at times, Spawn, Blade, etc. And I'm a mainstream guy... if we go into indie stuff... well, c'mon... Constantine, Preacher?

The Crow, yes. In a very 90's sort of way.

The Crow, yes. In a very 90's sort of way. Something about a hero shooting himself up with the crooks dope while he kills him, just SCREAMS dark to me.

Even the movie was awesome. I'm just not sure it would translate well to someone who doesn't understand how utterly self-absorbed everything was in the 90's. The whole Goth thing is kind of difficult to understand, IMO, if you don't have any perspective on the 1990's.

That was too dark for me.

Ya, Dark is such a general term and can mean so many things it is hard to narrow it down without being specific to what kind of dark.
Honestly? I think one of the Darkest heroes (however you want to interpret it) is Batman. He walks on the thin dark line between madness and sanity and has to follow a strict code of conduct to prevent himself to becoming the evil he fights on the streets, etc.

Ya, Dark is such a general term and can mean so many things it is hard to narrow it down without being specific to what kind of dark. See, Dhark? They're all talking about you... I. Hate. Nick. Cage. I think I'll go make a Facebook page for that now. Are you sure you're not my clone? No, I am not your clone. You're way to OCD for me. Now, if you combined my wife and I into one being...we'd be you. I like Cage, as all actors he has had good movies, crappy movies, and movies the rocked! I thought the first Ghost Rider was decent and he did a decent job thought he didn't really fit the role. The best two movies Cage did were as follows; 1. 8mm (If you havn't seen this movie, you should go see it. It is a great all around movie. BEWARE: It is very dark and shows one of the darkest sides of humanity that actually exist. I talked my wife into watching it with me and she got sick to her tummy) 2. Face Off My first experience with Mr. Cage was a horrible film called "Vampire's Kiss," I believe. AWFUL. I've hated the man ever since. Granted, he's had a number of really good movies, a few he was even personally good in, but I think the credit for those probably belongs to someone else involved. I haven't seen either of those movies you mention -- I've heard they're good, but Cage is always a turn-off for me. I, too, love Ghost Rider, but Cage made him a joke. The only reason this man is still working is because of his famous and powerful uncle.

Shenron:I was thinking the same thing. Though you went into more detail about why Batman is one of the darkest heroes then I thought of.
Black Sam:Oh what irony! Well it is ironic if you considered the fact that Cage changed his last name so people won't reference to his uncle and thus it wouldn't influence his carrer. Another fact. Cage is apparently a major comic book fan as he always wanted to play Ghost Rider (He even had a tatto of the guy before he got the role.) and when he changed his last name to Cage, it was based on another Marvel hero Luke Cage.
