A Batman & Robin Batman has precedence, sadly. Does a Batman & Robin Ghost Rider? I blame Cage...

But which one do you portray, which has more right or does creative license come into play here? Of course creative license comes into play, but I think they'd be more successful and tell more memorable stories if they went for the (admittedly more difficult to tell) tragedy angle, rather than a bunch of cheap pee jokes.

While I would like to see a movie that dealt with some of those themes, I think they sort of hamstrung themselves. The tragedy aspect would have needed to be covered in the first movie, I feel. Instead, we got what was essentially Nic Cage intermittently motorboating a ham sandwich while onscreen/sparking a joint in his trailer while bad CG did unimpressive, boring crap to uninteresting bad guys. Since it was too soon for a reboot I guess, they kinda just had to run with what they had.

No they could've fixed it but they were too prideful.... I don't need my Spirit of Vengeance peeing fire... Let Chuck Norris do that.

I actually agree that they hamstrung themselves with the first one, in terms of telling a good tragic story. Nick Cage intentionally (for some bizarre reason) wanted to take all of the sting out of Johnny Blaze's personal tragedy, and he succeeded.
That said, lately it seems like Hollywood believes it's never too soon for a reboot.

In general there are some rules that I have about movies.
1. I don't watch sequels, or prequels intentionally unless I am really bored, or a lady friend forces me too. Movies generally get worse as the series goes on. Sadly the only decent movies squeal wise I can think of are the Stargate films that were after the series, and advance the plot without trying to revamp the characters.
2. I don't generally watch comic book movies.
3. I don't watch reboots. Reboots are a half as lame lazy attempt to make a bad move better, but end up making it worse. It's like the writers sat down and say "Hey, let's have a gravy day, and write some b*llshit script with a few minor changes and come up with a product that nobody can relate too, and piss the fans off."
I have better ways to blow my money.
