OOC uh, eh? Captain Britains RESISTANCE value stays the same regardless of how much damage he takes. There's no 'death spiral' in DC Heroes. His Body (5 in the suit) and Force Field (3) keep his RV at 8. His current Body condition is 1 though.
Page 17 (rules) "The damage that is sustained is never subtracted from any of a Characters Attributes in any way."
So his body condition dropped to 1 point, but his RV is still 8. Cap will add 1HP to RV (up to 9 vs the charge) and absorb 2 RAPS from last ditch defence, leaving him on 2 Hero Points.
Hopefully Cap will be inside this fellows Cyclone though, otherwise this will probably end only one way unless I can get a decent dice roll...

Not much of a difference (Lightning Reflexes adds 2 points not one) but every little helps "You're a fool Hurricane!" shouted Captain Britain as he took to the air and flew at his foe. Teeth clenched, Captain Britain knew, with a wild eyed, desperate thought, that this man who'd beaten him soundly several times before would beat him again! Despite that he was bigger, faster, stronger... No!
"By all that's sacred! NO!" he spat aloud, and swung once more, wildly, hoping beyond hope to connect with one clean, solid punch that would send his foe reeling!
OOC As far as I know Captain Britain is within melee range because Hurricane never moved. Declared actions:
Automatic - Force Field up Dice - Press the Attack (-1OV to Captain Britain and Hurricane) then Attack Hurricane with a critical blow (+2OV -3RV). Hurricane should be +1OV -3RV total. If it's Dex 2 he has then I need a roll of 7 or more to hit. Automatic - Hit or miss he will move 5 Aps (100yards) straight up to 'pull' the Villain away from the streets. If it's Captain Britain he wants, he'll have to come and get me! He hopes. Hero Point use: Use 1HP on last ditch defence if he's hit. It might not help, or it might... Run out of options now. It's all down to the dice, and if they are lousy again, I'm toast.

OOC Hmmm, tricky. Wasn't aware of a power that absorbs damage from hand to hand attacks (energy attacks does, well, energy attacks, not hand to hand). Better try and hope for a decent roll. Will try for a Trick Shot to hit a specific part of his armour (namely his backpack which Captain Britain knows powers his armour). That's +2 OV and he's attacking to disable or separate it from the armour rather than go for damage to Hurricane himself.
Grinding his teeth in frustration, Captain Britain racks his brain, then moves about in the air, hoping to snag the powered suits backpack away and tear it free from his foes armour. At least the fight was contained to him, but he knew another good hit and he'd go down!
OOC So, it's purely down to dice...
Actions: Flight (Auto) - stay with Hurricane, Dice (trick shot vs his backpack). Roll: (before I see the result I predict the dice will come up awful. I've not had a decent roll as yet out of them)

FYI: By "absorb" I simply meant that Captain Britain's attack didn't hurt as much because Hurricane is wearing this armor. I did not mean "absorb", like Sebastian Shaw kinetic absorption.

OOC ah right, thought I was screwed without some ultra high roll. If I did hit last time and didn't do any damage (with -3RV from the critical blow) that would put this guy in the range of 13-15 resistance, so I've little chance of hurting him anyway. Looks like the only chance is to target that backpack and hope to get lucky, so CB will continue to do that. He'll spend his last HP if it would make a difference (i.e. last ditch defence to keep him conscious) but otherwise will target the backpack every round from now (so more of the same then)

Your previous attack did 2 APs of damage, not 0 damage. Captain Britain has a STR of 6, so 2/3 of the blow was "absorbed" thanks to the armor.

OOC Ah right, my bad. I just read into it that Hurricanes armour soaked up all of the Critical Blow. Aside from a devastating attack (+4/-6) the only other thing I can hope for is a huge roll or trick shot, so we'll go with trick shot for the next attack and see how we get on. Playing this game brings backs some memories of hours, days, weeks, months playing nothing but - and also reminds me that my old brain lets stuff leak out after a while

OOC: Hurricane's OV is normally set by his DEX of 2, but he gets a +1 CS for Dodging and a +2 CS because Captain Britain is performing a Trick Shot. Captain Britain has a DEX of 8, so he needs an 11 to hit. And that's what you rolled!
Captain Britain's Strength is 6 and Hurricane's Back Pack has a Body of 6. Captain Britain scores 1 RAP.

Finally seeing a chink in his foes armour - literally - the Captain bites back a grin. This wasn't over yet! Even as his foe attempted to repair the pack he kept pace with his foe as best he could in the air and reached for the backpack again to further thwart and frustrate him!
"Oh, did you need that?" he laughed. "Sorry! let me help you... oops!" he said as he reached for the pack and tried to pull a handful of wires and circuits out!
