Captain Britain, puts a nice dent into Hurricane's pack but fails to take it away. [OOC: That would be a Take Away maneuver instead of a Trick Shot.]
The villain now tries to blow away Captain Britain, before escaping by air.
[dice=10][dice=10] He misses, but uses the recoil to speed away from the British hero toward a distant steeple.
CB's Initiative: [dice=10+20] H's Initiative: [dice=10+14]
Hurricane will continue to use Flight 9 to lead Captain Britain toward a steeple that he can Trick Shot to fall on the flying hero (or failing that, the innocent bystanders on the ground below!). [rand=1889028304722161446115535218268676929701841436337766541237942874]

Captain BritainCurrent Body :1/5 Mind: 4/4 Spirit: 4/4 Hero Points: 1Feeling he's been given the run around, Captain Britain soars after Hurricane to Take Away the pack from his back. All his hardest punches have failed to make a dent, and the longer the fight goes on, the more likely someone will get hurt! 'Probably me' he thinks to himself. Actions: Flight (Auto) - stay with Hurricane, Dice (take away vs his backpack). Roll: Given up hoping for something reasonable. These dice are hopeless! Hurricane AV: 6 Weaponry (Exotic Weaponry) Captain Britain's OV: 8 DEX (+2 CS due to Trick Shot, so the 11 to 12 column is used)
Hurricane needs a an 18 to blast at the building in such a way that it hit Captain Britain.
[dice=10][dice=10]
These dice really don't like you, my friend. (Let me know if you want to switch to the BASH! system after this chapter.)
SMASH!
Hurricane's wrist blasters concentrate hurricane force winds into the steeple, topping in onto Captain Britain for 8 EV!
8 EV vs. Captain Britain's RV of 8 results in 2 RAPs of Damage!
Captain Britain only has 1 HP, so I think he's unconscious. Please confirm.
EDIT: I just realized this is kind of fitting for the 4th of July, the U.S.'s Independence Day from Britain. [rand=89738854789175090562840497586876154132201357278973548873646184802]

OOC Captain Britain is down - have no answer for the damage. As for BASH, I'm happy to switch to the system, though haven't fully read it through (only the character creation section). I'll try and get round to buying a copy of the game (I only have it on PDF, and I found that really hard to sit and read on a screen) in dead tree format. You're right about the dice. I don't think I've seen any of my rolls go above 12 or 13, and the vast majority have been well below 10. That double 1 last time round was about par for the course
Happy Independence day How many Americans see it as a day to celebrate from escaping the evils of British Colonialism, and how many see it as an excuse to eat lots and get drunk?

OOC: In answer to the question about the 4th of July, most see it as an excuse to blow things up while eating lots and getting drunk.
By the time the Captain can recover, Hurricane has departed and Buckingham Palace has been utterly destroyed!

Captain Britain
By the time he's recovered, the Captain sees Buckingham Palace flattened. Dejected, feeling low, he nonetheless flies over to the rubble and starts sifting through it, moving what he can to an empty space on the lawns then to listen for the cries of anyone trapped in there. He'll cooperate with the authorities, but should an angry mob or the police/army get nasty, he'll fly off, to lick his wounds at the distant Braddock Manor.
OOC Got royally shafted by the dice there. 2D6 from now on? Can't be any worse than 2D10...

The police are on the scene and wish to have a session with Captain Britain.
"Captain, what can you tell us about these attacking hordes of blue-skinned aliens?"

Captain Britain
Still in shock at being beaten so comprehensively, Captain Britain turns slowly, hands full of a wooden beam and dust wafting across his field of vision. "What?" he asks, lowering the heavy beam to the floor.
"Hordes of blue skinned aliens? Where? When?"
ACTIONS: if told about the 'hordes' Captain Britain will fly over to the site of the attack at best speed to investigate.

"I think this bloke's taken too hard a hit to the noggin." The police tell Captain Britain that he was last spotted battling with the blue skinned aliens himself. However, by the time the Captain recovered, the spacecraft and its occupants had departed.
"Captain Britain!" A gentleman of the Press runs up. "Why were you unable to stop this alien invasion that caused horrendous damage and casualties?"

Captain Britain
"What? What on Earth are you talking about? I was fighting Hurricane, an armoured villain who can create tornadoes! He destroyed Buckingham Palace! Did anyone see where..." His voice trailed off and he looked about. "What exactly did you see? What was destroyed, and how many people died?"
He looked about, incredulous. "Either I'm going mad, or something very strange, and dangerous, is going on here!"
Captain Britain had gone mad before. It wasn't an experience he cared to repeat.
ACTIONS: Get as many details as he can of the alien invasion, then deduce the best direction to head in order to chase them

Captain Britain's statement that he was fighting Hurricane leads to a long session with the Police, and a lot of badgering by the Press. Except for Captain Britain, the people in St James' Park saw scores of blue-skinned alien soldiers laying waste to the area. So, the Captain is not alone in wondering if he is going mad.
The papers, TV and radio carry lengthy news items about the attack. The ordinary passer-by in St James' Park report that they saw hundreds of aliens, and that there was tremendous destruction and loss of life. The news also informs that there were five duplicate attacks in major cities around the world -- New York, Moscow, Tokyo, Canberra and Brasilia. The other attacks caused vast damage before they came to an end. Hits: 50

The hero wonders if he's going mad. He fought Hurricane, a man who'd taken him to school on a couple of occasions, and whom he'd only beaten through a little guile, and yet everyone else was convinced they'd seen 'blue skinned aliens'? He needed to get back to the manor and use the computer to pore through news reports, find out anything he could about so called 'blue skinned aliens' and see if it could find anything out about the current whereabouts of Hurricane. The last the Captain knew, the fellow was in nick and good riddance to him! And whilst he was doing that, he figured he deserved a stiff drink. With a sad look at Buckingham Palace, Captain Britain casts a forlorn figure as he takes to the sky and heads North/North-West to home, and Braddock manor, taking care to fly low and fast, and stick to the contours of the countryside to avoid 'pinging' on radar. ACTIONS: Back to Braddock manor and talk to the computer...

The adventure continues to KISS of DEATH (Chapter 2): Mayhem at Braddock Manor!
Unfortunately, since Captain Britain was defeated and Buckingham Palace destroyed, Captain Britain earns no Hero Points.
