I'm partially expecting it to be in England in maybe a couple of weeks, a month at most due to the fact they don't have to worry too much about language changing. I mean I want to like it but it's sorta looking like the Thundercats reboot, why does Panthro have stretchy arms?!

Just saw the first episode. I mostly didn't care for it - especially all the flash cuts and the slapstick. But I'm willing to give it more of a chance to see where they're going with it. I'm saving the second episode for tomorrow.

I'm kinda concerned they blatantly threw the entire plot of the 1st season right in our face; Osborn is evil, hires super villains to test Spiderman, eventually fails, becomes the Green Goblin, gets beaten by Spiderman and taken away by SHIELD. Unless they pull something really well in the next few episodes I'm not sure this will be worth watching

It really feels like one of those shows that is mostly just a vehicle to familiarize kids with their product and it's characters. Young Justice is a little bit like that, too, but it does it so much better and remains engaging throughout. I'm not as entertained by Ultimate.

I'm sure this will come as a shock to many people, but I'm unimpressed with Ultimate Spider-Man. It has no drama. I guess as a child of the 80's, I appreciate the "Ferris Bueller" element, but not enough to keep me really watching the show. Also, why is Iron Fist saying "namaste" Danny Rand isn't a granola munching hippy yoga cultist, and the culture of K'un-L'un has always been a fictionalized mystic China (and they even referred to his martial art as Kung Fu in the show...) The Chinese do have a word of "peace" you know...

I've never understood the problem with granola. Who doesn't like granola?
But yeah, I hated the second episode. This feels like the sort of show that was cooked up by a bunch of wrinkly old men in suits in some boardroom somewhere. It's all "totally radical!" and has Family Guy-style flash cuts and just can't take itself seriously for more than about one second in 22 minutes.
I can't believe we lost Spectacular for this.

I've never understood the problem with granola. Who doesn't like granola? Actually I love granola. But to answer your question; my wife. She hates it.

Well, I really like candy corn, so I guess anything is possible.

Gah, how can you eat candy corn, it's so...nasty. Anyway walking away from disturbing food preferences, I haven't seen the second episode but with all this negative reaction not getting my hopes up that it turned the series around, granted I will still watch it, it's only fair, but I'm really concerned with the amount of quality Marvel Animation has been doing these years, those anime spin offs certainly didn't help much either.

I really didn't care for Earth's Mightiest Heroes, either. Each episode sort of wrote itself, and I saw little to not character development. The metaplot, if there really was one, advanced in unsatisfying fits and spurts. It generally looked and felt pretty half-assed.
I liked X-Men: Evolution even less. Terrible character design and animation, and even worse writing. I don't understand why it was as popular as it was.
Aside from Spectacular, has Marvel produced a good cartoon in the last decade?
EDIT: UGH, and who has seen the X-Men Anime? I'm still not convinced that it wasn't a tongue-in-cheek parody of anime in general..

I agree with you on all of those except Evolution. The art style/animation on Evolution was absolute crap, but once I got past that, I found about one third of the episodes to be genuinely entertaining ;D
And before anyone asks... yes, I did watch several episodes of the X-Men anime on G4. I tried. I really did.

I laughed so hard at the X-men anime at one point that I literally pulled a muscle in my ribs. I had to miss 2 consecutive jogs because I couldn't breathe deeply enough. The best part is that I can't even recall which moment it was - the whole thing is so terrible. (However I suspect it was one of the moments where Storm tries to pronounce "Wolverine" in Japanese. UWABARIIN!)

Aside from Spectacular Spiderman, I did like the Avengers - note that if I was rating them, Spectacular would get a solid 8.5 out of 10, Avengers around 6. As far as enjoying other Superhero Cartoon shows I'd have to go back to Justice League and the various Timm series (Batman, Superman) to find stuff I enjoyed, and I haven't thought much of the films they've knocked out since the series ended.
Still, anything is better than nothing. With DC Comics being so unreadable for me it kind of elevates Marvel so I'll watch the USM and Avengers cartoons.
