I got bored and downloaded a digital AvX on my ipad...all I can say is the art was crap. How's the Nova comic? (Also, how the heck is Nova back?)

This thing is already out? Out last week. Local comic book shop near me is decorated with all things Avengers and AvX. Free posters, badges etc. Ultimate Spiderman #1 is free too, not that it's any better than the series. in fact, it looks like they took caps from the tv show and made it into a comic. What the hell though, it's free. My son liked it.

They did reference Spidey's kung-fu training in the Spider Island story arc before he actually ended up getting his spidey sense back actually.
As far as Iceman goes he actually has been rated as a heavy hitter and has recently began exhibiting his true omega-class power. In the Schism storyline Cyke sent a bunch of his heavy hitters to some mutant museum opening thing to send some sort of message (forget exactly what it was but it had something to do with what was going on in the story at the moment). That included Emma Frost, Magneto, Colossus (aka the new Juggernaut which is soooo stupid IMO. Probably not gonna last but I could've done without it at all), Namor, and Iceman (I'm sure I'm leaving someone out but you get the point). After Schism Iceman sided with Wolverine and went to help re-start the Institute and on the 1st day the new Hellfire club (which is a bunch of 12 year olds... again stupid idea) brought back and unleashed Krakoa on them and they were pretty much getting their butts handed to them until Bobby went all Omega on them. All he did was make TONS of duplicate Icemans with varying appearances but he was pretty much owning. That aside the Wolverine & X-men comics sucked so I never kept reading to see how they developed that. You guys can't always rely on Wiki cuz it's not always up to date.
Seeing him on the line-up does make me wonder if they're going to retcon the whole Schism storyline because Iceman, Rogue, & Gambit were definitely amongst those who sided with Wolverine.
Are green hulk & red hulk both going to be involved? Because in the 1st post roxolid mentioned a hulk but didn't specify which one. I assumed it was Red because he's part of the Avengers at the moment but then later on he specified Red so I was wondering if the 1st one was supposed to be Green.

According to what I read Green Hulk goes up against Emma Frost, Red Hulk goes up against Thing and Juggolossus. If Iceman really can do all that stuff (as in, they haven't conveniently forgotten that storyline and all his capabilities) then he should be regarded as a heavy hitter. I'm still not ruling out the 'Peter Parker goes to Horizon Labs and develops some new fantastic anti-freeze of the future which is a one shot deal and is never mentioned again and shuts Iceman down after Iceman spent 75% of the issue handing spidey his butt' option. Marvel turns comic fans into cynics, in my opinion. Mind you, DC just turns comic fans off. According to march sales figures Marvels A vs X finally broke the DC new 52 stranglehold. Here ya go: Looks pretty green to me. Emma Frost looks to have more clothes on (i.e. more than 2 postage stamps and a handkerchief) than usual. Not shown: Porn star platform shoes (on Frost, not Hulk...) Actually, you bring up a good point - which Avengers team is Green Hulk on?

I think (actually I know) part of why Spidey is able to beat people who're so much more powerful than him and why he's been able to be considered/hang with the big dogs is because of his brain power. It's how he saved the day in Spider-Island and seemed to be the moral of the story. He may not be a Thor power-level but he has taken down some heavy hitters in his day which is why he isn't always considered an underdog when he might be one on paper.
& yea I really don't know much about where Green Hulk has been or what he's been up to lately. I guess it's really just Mutants vs. Non-mutants.

Unless Iron Mans costume no longer contains any, uh, Iron, he's screwed here. Is that 'Hope' getting powered up in the background with the Phoenix force? Emma Frost is looking for a tactical advantage, and seemingly finds one in Iron Mans butt. Spiderman is looking for a tactical advantage but can't help looking at Emma Frosts butt. My guess is Cyclops will gun for him once he's done Captain America. Question: Has Cyclops been 'powered up' at some point? in the old Marvel game he pumped out Amazing (50) level force blasts but a stiff breeze would have blown him over. In the MURPG, it's 9 points and x2 damage, slightly stiffer breeze. In comics lore he's mentioned as having enough power to cut through a mountain. He looks pretty buff these days, and with X Men training could be handy in a melee scrap against low powered foes, but I honestly, for the life of me, can't see how he'd 'do' Captain America. Cap is almost as Agile as Spidey, fights on a par with Thor, has faced and won against people far, far above his league, and is probably the best leader (even more than Cyke, who is an excellent leader) in the Marvel Universe. Once he gets in close (thanks to the shield) it'll all be over. Or will it?

That Hulk vs. Frost picture is weird. Hulk looks fine, but Emma's body is in a weird position for someone who should be running the hell away. Not that that would be likely to work, either. As for Cyclops and his power level, he's supposed to be damn good at martial arts, but certainly not at Cap's level. His optic blast is pretty powerful, but he holds back most of the time - and I don't see him dishing out a full dose to someone like Cap. Besides, Cap's shield seems like one of the best counters I can think of anyway. That said, I do love to see Cycke cut loose: ~TWF

That's not AM (50) or 9 Force Blast, more like ShX (150) with armour piercing and area effect or Force Blast 9 x3 damage, ignores armour, area effect.
Damn impressive, but I guess it all hinges on the writer. Is it Kieron Gillen (he who I read for years as a computer game reviewer here in England, so god only knows how he ended up writing comics for Marvel)?

And that's why Cyc's MURPG write-up is a joke

Hah, yeah, many of the MURPG write-ups are silly, and yet some of them are spot-on. It's weird.
And that image is from the Joss Whedon and John Cassaday run in Astonishing X-Men, which I adore.

Haha. I remember reading that issue. It was definitely awesomeness and I'm no Cyclops fan... though I'm starting to respect him a little these days. I don't necessarily agree with him always but I understand the method behind his madness. He's not a jerk just to be a jerk. He's a jerk because he has to be. Someone has to make the hard decisions. It used to be Prof. X and now it's him. Only difference is Cyke can't use his mutant ability to wipe everyone's mind so they forget what a jerk he is.
P.S. Yes that is Hope in the background with the Phoenix Force. & that is very disappointing. I was kinda hoping they didn't do that.

I just want to be sure I’m correct on this; the second issue is a four dollar standard-length comic and – in spite of all the hype for #1 – there is no “Infinite #2”?
So much for added value.
