"Mommy! Mommy! Please! Tell me a story!"
"And which story shall I tell?"
"The one about the princess!"
"But sweetheart, you're my princess!"
"Pleeeeeease?"
"As you wish, my princess. This story, like all good stories, begins in a dream. Because in dreams, anything you can imagine is possible. You can run faster than a bolt of lightning! You can leap tall buildings in a single bound! And you can stop a moving train all by yourself!"
"I like dreams!"
"And in this dream, there were children, and the first Mommy and Daddy, who loved their children very much."
The little girl nodded eagerly as the mother continued.
"But some of the children misbehaved. They didn't get along. In fact, they fought a lot, just like you and your brothers."
"Boys are mean!"
"Some of the naughty children didn't follow the Mommy and Daddy's rules. They used the magic of the dream for selfish goals. So the Mommy and Daddy came up with a plan. They would use the endless magic of the dream to make a special princess. One with the magic of the Mommy, the Daddy, the sun and the moon. One who could call upon her big sister's wisdom for guidance in the restless dream."
The mother looked wistfully at a picture of her oldest daughter in her cap and gown on the nightstand.
"I miss her too Mommy."
The mother swallowed before continuing: "So as this princess drifted off into her dream, she knew the magic word would always keep her safe. And do you remember what the magic word is?"
"Yes! It's Shazam!"
"That's right: Selene, the moon. Hera, the Mommy. Apollo, the Sun. Zeus, the Daddy. Athene, the wisest of them all. And Morpheus, the dream itself."
"Because in the dream, anything is possible!"
The little girl sighed contently, awaiting blissful slumber.
"Sleep tight, little Diana..."

[OOC: A *very* rough idea at this stage, but I'm looking for a group of 4-6 players to re-imagine the origins of Wonder Woman. More details to come, if there's enough interest.
I would obviously be looking for someone to take on the lead role. The other players would take on alternative versions of other DC characters. I'm looking to set this game in the Amazon, with magic, mysticism, ancient powers, and nature being heavy themes. Characters like Batman or Luthor (rich boys with toys) are not going to be the greatest fits. Characters like Beast Boy, Captain Marvel (yes please?), Aquaman, a Green Lantern with magic-based powers, etc. would be better fits. I would also welcome martial artists with an aim towards mysticism. I'm waffling on whether aliens play a role in this story.
I'm also not ruling out anti-heroes or anti-villains, but outright evil characters bent on killing/harming the other player characters probably won't be approved. People who know me know that I like to get pretty involved and should expect a lot of unsolicited attempts to collaborate by yours truly when it comes to character creation. If I can get behind an idea, there is a good chance of me approving it notwithstanding the guidelines herein. This is especially true of people who I know, so apologies in advance for bias.
Don't worry about the mechanics until we can confirm enough interest. Nominally, I'll be using the MURPG system with some homebrew rules. Practically, I'll probably just make a ton of sh-- stuff up as I go if it makes sense for story purposes. As this is an origin story, your character pitch should probably not be capable of blowing up planets or the like. PM or post with questions/concepts.*
