I'm more a fan of the Angel approach myself - the Slayer is doing her thing, while a group of unrelated heroes is fighting the good fight knowing they'll probably die trying.

I see, but what do you think about Dio's idea? Cross Time Buffying: Something happened, and now all times exist at once, causing multiple Slayers to appear out of the woodwork from all times in history. The cast would be a group of cross time beings, possibly multiple slayers, possibly just scoobies, trying to make sense of this world, and trying to set it right according to the mad ramblings of a nearly catatonic Buffy who remembers what the real world is supposed to be

One timeline is confusing enough to keep track in my head.

One timeline is confusing enough to keep track in my head. Got'cha. Dionon, then... as much as I like your idea, for such a project, I'd like all of us to agree with it, especially since we'll be a small group. Thanks for suggesting it, but so far it looks like it will be for a more regular, Slayer-less group of heroes fighting evil in a given city/locale, unless I get another suggestion from someone.

Shouldn't we wait till everyone votes before dismissing an idea? *shrugs* Besides, it wasn't all timelines are one, it was that the timeline has collapsed to a single point making it so that we could play people from medieval settings along side someone from a futuristic one next to a person from the modern era. But it was just an idea, so I can let it go and go with #5 if that seems to be the consensus.

My vote was going to be for a 5, Dionon, 8 hybrid but if we dont have Dionon then we could do a 5,8 hybrid.

Shouldn't we wait till everyone votes before dismissing an idea? *shrugs* Not really, to be honest. I want at least all 4-5 of us to be 'okay', if not 'interested in' the choice we'll go with. So if someone says downright 'No', I can't really take it as a choice. I want everyone to be glad to play in the game, not to 'tolerate the setting even if they don't like it'. My goal is to make everyone we got at least enjoy the game, if not love it. If we start with a setting one of them don't like, the best I could get is probably have them think it's okay, despite the setting. That's not my goal. I personally loved your setting, but I need all the players to be at least okay with it. This isn't really a vote either, I haven't put up a poll or anything. I'm asking for you guys' opinions, listening to (well, reading) them, and determining where to go from here to try to make everyone have fun with this. ^_^ By the way, it's entirely possible to play a character from another time/world/whatever, as long as it fits within the power level (low-powered human to mid-power X-Men level, more or less). We're talking Buffy/Angel here, with its immortal people having lived for centuries (Anya, Dracula, the Immortal, Angel, etc), its death defying sorcerors, its dimension traveling demons and trolls, summoning rituals and spells going wrong which may bring in people from elsewhere, the Powers that Be who work in friggin' weird ways, etc. Anything is possible as long as you come up with a good reason, and I okay it. HOWEVER, I would still rather like if you guys came up with relatively reasonable and Buffy-like ideas, please... I don't want all people from other dimensions in the Buffy/Angelverse, but I'd okay one, maybe two.

Well, like I said, I'd go with #5 if my idea is out, so there's that.

Yep, and so is everyone else who spoke so far. So unless somebody shows up tonight yelling 'STOP THE PRESSES' before midnight... it is what we're going to go with.

I don't think I can get involved in a game right now, or at least I probably shouldn't, but I *love* Buffy so I'll at least be lurking and reading. ^__^ I'll try to get a hold of the rules some way or another, sounds neat.

It really is, TWF. I love the system, and it can easily be adapted to multiple low-powered settings. If you have a chance, get the 'Revised Core book'. It's like the Core book but without dozens of errors, and with more material (the original book had stuff up to Season 5, while the Revised one has material up to 7.)

No problem. The other books are really great too IMO, and there are not many so completing the collection is fairly easy. My favorite additional books are the Magic Box (plenty more rules for magic, artefacts, making artefacts, superscience, and several additional and cool Qualities to round up your witches with), and the Monster Smackdown, with stats for dozens of monsters seen in the show, including full character sheets for some of the coolest villains, including Dracula. ^_^ Also has several new Qualities and other neat stuff.
But yeah, it's a very good series, and RPG.

I wish that they would finish their "supers" game already -.-
Eden Studios puts out good stuff.

I heard about that like two years ago. Is the project still going?
