Mildred
Years ago you would wait for an hour after sun down, letting it get properly dark before you would venture outside. Years of practice later and the minute the sun dips below the horizon and you are driving through the dusk towards the 13th precinct. After all the sun isn't going to mysteriously reverse course and time waits for no woman.
You arrive early, just you intended. It's an hour before you have to clock in but with all the fun last night who wouldn't want to start early. Interestingly you arrive to the sight of the captain stepping off a motorcycle. You'd probably be more impressed if it were an old motorcycle but it is decidedly modern, black and lime green and says Kawasaki on the body. It looks to be built for speed.
She slides the bike into a metal stand that seems purpose built for motorbikes tucks her helmet under her arm and nods to you.
Jon
You wake without feeling rested, yes you slept but your body is protesting at the abuse from last night. Everything seems loud, the traffic passing buy outside, the people walking by the apartment, the baby crying down the hall.
It's always like this when you wake. Some coffee and clothes later and you are on your way to the precinct. You could teleport, maybe you even should but there is something vaguely relaxing about the traffic in Gotham, maybe the way everyone is just as miserable as you when they are stuck behind the wheel breathing in exhaust fumes. So you drive.
You turn up just in time to see the captain stepping off a Kawasaki Ninja. It's not the fastest road legal bike in the world, but it's in the top three and from the look of hers, it sees a lot of use.
Mildred has just arrived in her Bentley 3 litre, same style, different era. Apparently everyone is getting an early start on the day.
Cerberus
The change in hair style is a bit unusual, but to be fair odd things do happen around you, so it's probably not worth worrying about. Besides from a look in the mirror you still look great and short hair is more professional anyway.
Jones follows you into the kitchen and you get breakfast together. He gets kibble and a boiled egg, you get cereal and coffee.
It's a bit odd having breakfast in the evening, but it's also the start of the day so it kind of makes sense.
There is still an hour or so before you need to get to work but Jones probably wants to head out. What he gets up to during his night time excursions is anyone's guess but he's a street cat at heart and found a comfy place to bed down with you. You even put a cat door in a window that opens out onto a fire escape so he could come and go and he's never not come back.

Even with a new schedule, his habits wouldn't change just like that so with a quick breakfeast and a pat to his cat's head, he let him out before getting himself ready. Putting his clothes on, he then make his way back to the precinct. So many things happened last night and it's still buzzing around his mind, but can he do? Walking down the streets with his usual black trenchcoat, he looks like a beautiful creature out of a fairy tale. Tough, there was some truth to that!
The usual looks goes his way as he pass by people. He take the common transport, not having a vehycule himself, it allows him to relax a bit as he finally het to the office with a good fifteen minutes before the shift. He goes inside, and look around for his comrades. There was much to discuss and do...but still.

"Captain" Mildred said, her approach confident. They weren't old friends, but at least it was pretty clear that they weren't enemies either, even if remembering that moment decades ago was still unsettling. "I didn't peg you as a motorcycle rider, but maybe it's somewhat... fitting?" she said, being completely honest she didn't imagine her riding a bike, but once she got off that modern, foreign and flashy contraption it felt appropriate. Was that a clue she had to store somewhere in her mind or was it just that the captain had the ability to make everything she did look easy? "I think I have a plan. Well, a clue. Maybe not even that but it's still early..." she admitted, her idea more of a hunch than anything else.

John grimaced as Mildred approached the Captain but came in after her. “Mildred my dear, give the lady a chance to get in the office.” He smiles and offers the captain a coffee.

Mildred & Jon
The captain turns to you both and smiles, taking the coffee offered by Jon.
"Thank you. Good to see you both bright and early."
Then patting the saddle of her bike tucking her helmet under her arm.
"I never really got comfortable with cars, this feels more natural, even if it doesn't move the same way as a horse. Anyway, why don't we go in and we can talk about your almost plan."
Cerberus
You hear the cat flat clatter as Jones takes off for this nightly rounds of where ever it is he gets to and with that you set out for the station.
Night has fallen properly on Gotham as you drive through the streets. Rush hour has just ended and everything is getting ready for night time proper. Right now the predators have yet to properly set out for the night, it is the nightly calm before the storm. Of course with Batman around sometimes it is the predators that have to be afraid, but you are forced to wonder if there is not more to Gotham than you can see on the surface.
It's an odd thought and one that you wonder for half a second if it isn't your own. But then whose would it be? It was in your head after all and you appeared to be thinking it.
As you drive you can almost imagine things could be different. A cars headlights as a pair of eyes, a lamp post covered in ancient bunting as an oddly shaped tree, gargoyles on building as creatures watching from on high discussing the comings and goings of the mortals down below.
Is there something else? Who knows, either way you're thirty seconds away from the station, so time to get your police head on.

Making his way to work as he and Jones both left the place for the night. Driving to the station, Cerberus watch as the nightly scenery of gotham took fantastial appearance. Odd thoughts occuring to him, that this place might be just more then what it was. Perhaps it was? To him, night vision was like the days and so, sometimes, he saw things that weren't really there? Or were they and only his supposely rational way of thinking would say otherwise? Not that it mattered much, but he sure would like to talk to these gargoyles, maybe one day?
Only a few streets away from the station, Cerberus went back to work mode and with his uniform on along with his usual trench coat, he made his way into the precinct. Getting inside, he polietely waved hello to everyone, his looks attracting the usual gaze upon him as he made his way to the captain's office.

Jon followed the pair inside interested in what clue Mildred might have gleaned.

John's voice brought Mildred out of her mood, as he interrupted her alone time with the boss. "It's that of my nature, can't help but be predatory even if charming" was her joking answer, flashing John a very pointy smile. It was endearing that the Captain had also her share of troubles adapting to the changes that the world brought upon her unnatural longevity, even if she didn't seem as disturbed by it as Mildred. It was true that the vampire had been more reclusive at some moments, totally fascinated by herself at others, so most of the twentieth century and the change of the twenty first had went through with her unable, unwilling to adapt. Now the breach was huge, but Mildred didn't care, or wanted to show she didn't. Mildred didn't know how old the Captain was, but she sure had to be magnificent on horseback.
"Lets go inside, yes" Mildred nodded, wondering where her supposed partner was, not to mention the key piece for this to work. "We are going to need the whole team for it though" she commented, still having trouble with the specifics of the idea. Mildred was not a woman of specifics, specially for the meticulousness many older vampires showed, but she was sure that such a talented team could arrange something.

Mildred, Cerberus & Jon
Cerberus parks up and heads inside to find Mildred, Jon and the Captain all sitting around Mildred's desk.
"So, tell me what you've learned."
The captain says it without preamble, apparently satisfied that there are enough of you here to make it worth discussing.

"We gathered a bit of information here and there yesterday" Mildred commented once all of them were at the Captain's office. Unless somebody asked there was no need to start divulging where they had been, specially when Mildred didn't really know much about the two fellow investigators in the room. "We went as far behind in time as we could, talked to experts, checked the blueprints..." she hand waved the need for any further explanations, she was there to find a solution, not to write a report. "And I think that if what we have under our building is an Old One, a fae..." she paused, taking a look at Cerberus. "We are going to need another one to make them get out" she said.
"I'm not sure about the procedure, or what can be the mental state of such a being after so long and dull an entrapment" Mildred nodded. "I know full well that it would have driven me mad long ago, my body but a husk" she said with a shiver. "But I don't know how your kind age or what do you need for sustenance, I guess that they are more spirit than anything else" she shrugged. "You can blame my nature if you want, but I think we are going to need fae blood to get that thing out of here" she finished, trying not to think about tasting it, checking if it was indeed an intoxicating and marvelous experience as some said.

"Fae? isn't that like a pixie or something?" He laughs. "You mean to tell me some old ass pixie is sitting in the basement?" then he gets serious. "Pixies don't actually exist do they?"

Cerberus
The young fae listen as Mildred was talking and making a short resume of what they had found so far. As for the solution she was offering, he got a glimpse of her gaze then raise an eyebrow. Then when the existence of fae was put in doubt he just grinned a little.
-Well...you have one standing right next to you...-

"Where's your wings, Pixie boy?" Jonathan obviously wasn't trying to be hurtful it was his way of asking what that meant.

Cerberus
The young fae looked at the man for a moment, unsure if the man was joking or not.
-It means what I said...I am a fae...and you don't want to see my wings...if they do appear, it means were in troubles...-
He said mysteriously with a slight grin.
