Detective Grue sits and listens for the most part, dabbing a donut into some coffee, looking up confusedly every once in a while at mentions of words like "fey folk" and "Olympus" but for the most part kept a surprising amount of composure. He knew he had been put here for a reason, after all. Still, he paid keen attention to each recounting, if just to see what the division was up to.
********** OOC: I might post a couple other small reactions like this, but I imagine there'd be a lot more listening than talking or acting on my part in this situation unless things take a turn.

With the captain being all business Mildred didn't even get the chance to comment anything about the new guy, so she guessed there had to be a reason for her to behave like that and just listened. She did open her mouth when her talkative partner was assigned to something else away from her, but without a chance to speak, she just thought about it for a second and left it go. It wasn't like she was clingy, there was no reason to insert herself in what would probably be Bradley bossing McPhierson around in a personal case.
Once the captain was done, it seemed that Cerberus was in a talkative mood, so she got advantage of a spare moment to at least nod towards the new detective. Grue, eh? Mildred couldn't help but wonder what his weirdness was. As distracted as she was with her musings, as soon as Cerberus started to yap about all he accomplished Mildred was almost dizzy.
"Wait, wait, wait" it seemed that her plan, or more like desire, to easily wrap up the basement case was fading. "There goes my plan of baiting it with your blood and killing it" she just admitted out loud. "Our haunted house problem turned into a diplomatic incident? I don't know shit about fae, no offense, but if they want to punish one single person they could have done it in their home, not condemn this whole place into weirdness" she barked, visibly angry. Mildred had enough sense to not voice something along the lines of 'not in my city', but even if she knew how corny it would sound, it was her honest feeling. She did love that messy, terrifying, weird place that was Gotham. Even tolerated that people from the city could be horrible with it. But outsiders? Oh no, that made her undead blood boil.
A hiss escaped though her visible fangs, but she soon recovered composure with a heavy sigh. "Captain, tell me that we aren't going to just let that be, right?" she said, looking at the boss. She guessed that her age gave her perspective, but given that she seemed to be bent on protecting the city Mildred admired how calm she seemed. "I'm not saying we willingly cause a war but..." she paused. "I mean, what's with that of replacing one cursed soul with three? Who would they be? And where the hell did they say such a thing would go?" she wondered, not having grasped the entirety of it when she was so riled up.

The fae like to talk in riddles I asked you before for exact wordings and exact situations. Even one word out of place could change the whole meaning of what she said, is that really everything, from what I understand it was a time dilation for you. I have my own reservations about believing my grandmother willingly went to Olympus but if that is what they say they are not know to outright lie, so exact wordings would be better than summary here... So we do not remove it we remove the tormented soul of the target and send them both to hell...
Christopher is a little everywhere today and has multiple trains of thought going but he clasps onto something.
Cerberus, Grandmother said they targeted a Miagani, did they give any indication that Miagani was not still around?

Cerberus
The young officer shook his head.
-It was not just one human that started the war...the vert ground on which Gotham stands belonged to the Fey people and they let humans live here if they would abide by their rules, and they broke the rules, thus why they were punished...or so I was told. Miagani is the very soil on which Gotham was built...Miagani is Gotham...-
He clarify, to avoid any more misunderstandings. Then turning toward Bradley.
-As for your grandmother Christopher, what I am saying is that with my gift, I could feel her presence on that walkway across worlds I mentioned and that the Fey I met told me that she was trying to get to Olympus. I do not know if she made it there nor where she is at the moment...-
He would then let that sink in.

Cerberus
-You want me to relate every single words we exchanged?-
He asked, this time, his turn to be a bit annoyed. But it seemed like Christopher wouldn't leave that part, so he would comply this time, shrugging. It would simply be easer to reproduce the scene, so he conjured a bit of magic, creating an illusion in the middle of the room like some realistic 3d projection, including sounds as well, which showed the exchange of words from that particular part.
*****
Grandmother : "Well the war of course. Humans are about to declare war and the Fey will respond in kind."
"You didn't think that destroying the creature in your basement wouldn't have consequences did you?"
"We placed it there as punishment for humans breaking their contract with us. If humans aren't willing to live with their punishment they will have to be punished another way."
"And you are caught in the middle, they will need your blood after all."
She smiles, almost as though she is looking forward to this 'war' she spoke of.
"But yes, this is the Fey realm, well part of it anyway. Is it not what you were expecting? It doesn't have to look like this, but I thought you might be more comfortable with something familiar on your first visit."
Cerberus : -I see...-
-Why would they need my blood?-
He tilted his head, curious.
-Can’t we avoid a war? I mean...If only a few individuals are beings punished...will the punishment only stop when they are dead? And then, what will happen to that entity? I guess there is always more to think about when dealing with these kind of situations hmm...-
-Well, this is a real head scratcher...can’t we settle this peacefully or are you so bored you’d rather have a war?-
He asked, looking back at Grandmother.
Grandmother : "You know my daughter was right, I do like you, because of that I will answer your questions. They will need your blood because it is the blood of a Fey. War can be avoided, but it will require certain conditions being met. If you wish to destroy one of the things we planted you will have to plant three in return."
"The contract was with the humans living within the lands of the Miagani so the beings will have to be planted within those lands."
"Do we have an agreement?"
Cerberus : -Hmm...Then, before I agree, I would like to know three things! First, where are the lands of the Miagani? How do we plant those beings of yours....and finally, how long do I have to do it?-
Grandmother: "You plant it as you would any plant, you put it in ground with enough feed that it might sprout and grow strong. The lands of the Miagani were and are the city of Gotham. You shall plant them within a year and a day of the original's death."
Cerberus : -I see...so as long as the other live, the count down is not started. Tough...-
He sit down.
-Couldn’t there be another way? If we remove one and we plant three, that doesn’t solve the problem, I understand humans have betrayed you...Ain’t there a way for us to mend that? I mean, those who did are gone now ain’t they? Or do you mean to punish even unborn generation that might come across your plant?-
Grandmother : "Of course there is another way silly boy. Return to the way of peace. Remove the city from the lands we share. We require nothing else. Humans agreed not to pollute the shared lands with iron or stone. In return we allowed them to live there in peace. Humans built their city on our lands breaking the contract and bringing down the punishment. We chose not to punish the Miagani directly as they were conquered by those they called 'the white man' so had little choice, so our wrath fell on those that were at fault."
"The fact that they do not 'believe in fairies' is their own failing and no concern if ours. Believe in the oncoming tide or not, stand in its way and you will drown."
**********
The replay of their conversation stopped there.
-Happy?...-
---------------------------------------------------------- 3 in Fae magic to recreate our conversation trough the form of an illusion, with visuals and sounds.

"What the hell you mean the Fey were here first? Arnt yall like from the 2nd star to the right or something? I don't pretend to understand what's going on here but who the hell the Fey think they are to give us demands? And whatever deal they made, we aren't the people they made it with. So if they are as specific as your saying they are, half ya ain't human and doesn't sound like vampires or other Fey were part of it." He looked at Richie Rich and Pix uncertain "Right? Mildred can't breach a contract she was never a part of?" He looked at them questioningly.

Despite him trying to be civil before Jon has constantly rebuffed Christian, he will keep trying but now is not the time.
Does it matter who is or who is not human? We have come together to ensure normal humans have some defense, and the creature the fae planted in this spot preys upon the normal humans. The fay do not like ferrous metals humans propensity for using such drove them away. Imagine trying to say the law does not apply to you because you did not vote for it, the fae made a deal with humans saying humans would not despoil this land, and humans did not keep up their end... Now we are found in breach of contract and the penalty is attacking all humans who come near this building. The only way we can manifest this creature is to use fae blood but if we use Cerberus' blood he will have to plant 3 more of the creatures... Even if you want to try to argue that you are not subject to Fae law for not being fae and not holding to this contract we cannot say the same of him.

he rolled his eyes. "Not being human is the point. Only the humans are in breach in contract if they try to remove.. whatever it is. Thats from your words. There's nothing saying non humans can't remove it. Am I wrong?" He was irritated at this guy's narcissistic attitude and while he might crap out magic... he was far north of irritating.

Yes you are wrong because she is specifically talking to one of the least human people here, I am fully human, Mildred was once human, I don't know what you are but I imagine it is some variant of human... Cerberus has never been fully human and yet by the very act of him wishing to destroy this thing she could call upon him to plan 3 more... Perhaps we could simply move it?

The captain nods to Mildred.
"This is still a test. Working here you are going to be dealing with things that the law doesn't cover. You have to be able to work these things out. Find solutions where there are none."
Turning to Jon and Christopher.
"It's an interesting point. If a non human entity destroyed it for their own reasons I would guess the Fey would be satisfied. We are however all representatives of a human agency and so are effectively representatives of humanity in their eyes."
"This sounds like a typical land dispute. The Fey see this as their land, humans see it as theirs, so it comes down to either war or negotiated settlement. The Fey are apparently willing to go to war, and whilst I wouldn't like to say which side would win, ultimately the Fey have had a long time to prepare so this will get bloody if it comes down to that."
"The government is woefully under prepared to deal with this though you could reasonably pass this up to them. They might not screw this up. So what is your call? This is still your case, how are you going to solve it?"

Christopher barely helps but bark out a laugh about letting the government handle something magical he is all too familiar with how well that would work out. Anyone know of any entities that hate the fae and would wish to piss on their parade out of spite?

"If they want a war, they'll get it" Mildred said, noticing after a moment the misunderstanding. "Oops, no, I don't mean we give it to them. I mean that if they really want it they will find any loophole they see fit to blame a human for it. Even if some other entity destroys it, they'll say we put it in motion and there we go again" she shrugged. Mildred paused for a moment, sighing. "Unless the more arcane minded of our own find a way to cheat the situation with magic, I'd say that negotiation is the only way out" she paused for a moment, "and I didn't get into this for the politics precisely, but if there is no other reasonable choice to protect the city we'll have to negotiate" she settled, more and more annoyed by the unforeseen complexities of the situation. She wondered how the captain dealt with those things, ages old patience, Mildred would have to guess.

Jon went off of Mildreds idea. "Who usually deals with this stuff? Batman? I obviously don't know much about magic but maybe there's like a magic lawyer type person."
