Yeah I saw that. I'm assuming we're ignoring the clusterfuck that is time travel/alternate earths from Legends? Why would we be doing that?

The last season and a half of Legends have been kind of hard to follow, is all.

The last season and a half of Legends have been kind of hard to follow, is all. Not for me, but I'm not bagging on you for feeling that way. If you'd said "stupid" or "directionless" I'd be more inclined to agree 8) For me, Legends is entertaining because of the characters. Its sort of like the old Justice League... Europe, was it? The one that was intentionally funny and had like Guy Gardener and Booster Gold on the team. Those stories were dumb, but I was engaged with the characters. Regardless, while not a fan of time travel stories personally, the one nice thing about them is that anything they do can be undone because time travel = there are no rules

Yes, but as a fan of storytelling I always get a sinking feeling of dissatisfaction whenever writers decide to push the cosmic reset button and in an instant a handful or more episodes of plot and character development get wiped out and "permanent" consequences mean nothing. How many times have the Canary sisters died and come back now? It's almost worse than Supernatural...
Sometimes it's necessary when things become so intractable or messy that a reset cleans the slate, but to do it *all the time*.......

That's one reason I bailed on Doctor Who

I just took a look at the last two ongoing discussions in my Messages, and they're both looking great. At this point, I'm not probably going to be able to take everyone, but all of the submissions are really good and everyone has been a pleasure to work with.

Stop making me want to do Captain Marvel, because I don't know anything about him other than he's a magic-based flying brick and shouts Shazam sometimes...

He's just doing it to irritate me because he knows I hate the Big Cheese. ... also he hasn't been Captain Marvel in quite a while, he's just Shazam now.

Everyone should! <devilish-grin> I sent in a SHAZAM CAD on April 1st. I have zero doubt that it was one hundred percent a waste of my time... <shrug> Was actually my favorite April fools day prank. But hey, i actually like SHAZAM/BLACK ADAM artwork at least, so,

But hey, i actually like SHAZAM/BLACK ADAM artwork at least, so, Black Adam looks super cool in a lot of the art, and if not for his attachment to Shazam, I think his backstory would appeal to me. But Shazam/Captain Marvel was always just so poorly delivered every time I tried to read a story with him that I couldn't get into him at all, and then when I really started to appreciate Superman, I couldn't stand Shazam at all. Malibu comics had a character called "Prime" that was a blatant rip-off of Captain Marvel, that I really enjoyed.

All of my exposure is stratight up from the cartoons and Injustice video games. I remember the PRIME ripoff vaguely, but never read that either.
I was NEVER terribly into Superman until Doomsday came along and the Death of Superman arc (and following varient supermen that popped up)... and once Kal El returned officially i was bored again. <shrug> Kind of how ALL of my DC interest is/was. Specific Arcs only with no real drive to follow any title full time.

Blame me for being a 90's kid, but I started and stopped reading comics mostly for Superman's titles (and the major DC crossovers) around the early 90's and could never find myself interested enough to regularly read anything else. I kept up with some of the bigger stories, some of them more interesting than others. It didn't help that the only real Marvel hero I liked at the time was Spider-Man, and I was reading around the time of the stupid Clone Wars Saga (which, like a certain film group of the same story name, made it much harder for me to enjoy anything else related to them published afterwards...) And there was also B:TAS, which may be the best film/tv adaptation of any comic book franchise ever. The 90's were a great time to be a DC fan.* *Again, blame me for being a 90's kid. I'm sure there was some other great stuff before and after. Just never got into them, for either not being born yet, or not having enough time to keep up until the Internet was a thing and I could just look up the stuff that sounded interesting.

I like the idea of Superman a lot more than most of the actual delivery of the character and, like you, most of my DC reading has been more about picking up specific arcs than about reading a certain title over an extended period of time, but that may be in part because my favorite DC characters (Dick Grayson, Hal Jordan, and Booster Gold) tend to get bounced around a lot. The only comics I've ever actually subscribed to were Marvel lines
