Beast attempts to dislodge himself from the Multiple Man with his superhuman strength, pushing, shoving, and flailing with enough force to punch through walls. But before he can react, the prehensile tail of Azazel slides underneath him, coiling around him before the two teleport out. Perhaps caught off guard by the sudden absence of the dogpile above him, Beast swings wildly. Azazel barely has enough time to teleport himself out of the surprisingly hefty mitts the nebbish looking Doctor is throwing, or maintain his grip and take the hit. Letting go will place them both within the reach of the Maddrox duplicates. Betsy and Wisdom spring into action. The white hot fury of Betsy's all-out-attack may have surprised those who assumed the coquettish girl's demure persona to be her true self, with a dizzying array of lunges, thrusts, and strikes matched by the equally molten heat of Wisdom's knives as he slashes at the witch. Sharper than a razor's edge, Psylocke's attacks slice off chunks of the magic barrier Morgana has erected for herself, leaving gaping holes in her defenses. Wisdom takes the opening Betsy carves for him. Wisdom's attacks hit home, leaving searing wounds on Morgana's face, the flesh sizzling as she is being effectively cooked alive. Grasping at the wound, she drops the axe, which disintegrates. Kate follows up Wisdom's attack by passing through the barrier. It is a feeling quite unlike any other she has experienced - like a thousand tiny needles or shards of ice prickling on her every nerve. It is not painful, but is also certainly not pleasant, and just as she felt when phasing through the Multiple Man's attacks, every step she takes while phased in this realm gives her the same cold, empty feeling, amplified by the magic of Morgana's shield. She reaches through Morgana while the witch is distracted, causing Morgana to double over in mental anguish. But despite their success in cracking Morgana's defenses, the Multiple Man continues his attacks, now looking to subdue his opponents. Each copy acts in perfect unison, acting as one extended organism, sharing a single, coherent plan of action. As Morgana winces, the wound on her face continues to sizzle, though it also begins repairing itself. Throwing her hands up, the barrier becomes much thicker, and visible, as she focuses on all out defense to try and buy herself time, though it is clear that she will not be able to hold out for long as the barrier flickers in and out and the witch is in obvious pain. Betsy finds that she now has total control over the vines she was fighting over with Morgana, the spell animating them apparently now under her control. The white-haired teenager, Quicksilver, races by, repeating the same mantra as before: "I'm late! I'm late! For a very important date! No time to say hello! Goodbye! I'm late, I'm late, I'm late!" Ant-Man materializes shortly after. "Are you...are you here for the tea party?" He stammers. Holding out his hand, a small plate materializes into it, with six pieces of what appear to be candy and a card placed atop it, reading in ornate handwriting: "Eat me." Taking one, he swallows it, growing rapidly until he stands a goliath, dwarfing over you. ======================================================== [[OOC: Betsy can use any of the surrounding woodlands by spending one stone each Panel she wishes to maintain control. The various vines, branches, and shrubs have a collective Toughness of 6 and provide up to 6 Stones of the Tendril Action. You should assume that they can reach any normal sized person in the immediate area. Azazel will need to decide how to react to Beast's flailing and the Multiple Man's attacks. I see there being basically a couple of options: 1) Azazel soaks Beast's attack of 4 red stones, but they are safely out of reach of the duplicates. 2) Azazel avoids Beast's attack, but Beast and Azazel are now in range of Maddrox, who are combining their Close Combat Actions and giving themselves some Sitmods for their efforts. I think Azazel would still be able to dodge them and the 4 Beast is using, but Beast may not be so lucky. Since this kind of depends on how Black Sam reacts, UrbanBlue, could you please wait on him?]]

Pryde winced, even if she had never found any resistance to her powers before, something was wrong there. She shivered, feeling an uneasiness hard to point, it felt more emotional than physical. It wasn't a cold you could shelter yourself against, it grasped at her more like grief. Whatever caused the sensation it didn't get better once she went through Morgana's shield and struck at her, that was for sure, but Pryde had a clear idea in mind. "That was awful, but at least it was worth it" she thought, "it's not over" Kate wisely shared.
Turning around she noticed that Morgana had endured not only her assault, but the combined efforts of the others as well. To make matters worse, harming her seemed to have no effect on her soldiers, so any theories Pryde may have about how that weird place worked didn't amount to anything significant. Maybe the strange Wonderland stuff that was going on was key, but it was hard to tell, as far as she knew it could make things worse. Pryde did her best in her assault, so she had to catch her breath, even if it was for a moment.

Azazel's devilish grin was interrupted by a meaty truck of a fist walloping him in the jaw. He kept his grip and kept the two of them out of harm's way as they teleported, but the look he shot Dr. McCoy delivered his thoughts clearly enough: that one was free.
He licked at the blood tracing red-on-red streaks down his chin and came at le Fay from all sides, teleporting between and around the melee already engaging her. His sword strikes were aimed high, at her eyes. If she were a serious martial artist she'd see them for the feints they were, otherwise she'd try to block them reflexively, leaving her defenses open for someone else to take advantage of.
Azazel was no chatterbox in a fight. His style was quick and lethal, every blow trained to deceive or kill: the clear mark of an assassin. Glimpsing a break in her forcefield where a strike would be impractical, he aborted a final swing in his calculated attacks and appeared in a low crouch behind her, stabbing his prehensile tail through a gap in her protection to grab an ankle and pull it out from under her. He hoped the surprise would be enough to send her stumbling into her demise.

"Well now it's a party" Peter says as it seems everyone has joined in the fray to take down Morgana. But with everyone now in one place, that only meant that the duplicating lad would soon be on top of them. Just then he sees the addle brained man eat something and grow to an enormous size. If it gets to a point where they're fighting Morgana and all of her pawns at once, they'll quickly be overwhelmed.
"Fuck it. When in Rome and what not. Can't be worse than any of the trips I had as a lad." Peter grabs one of the "candies" and pops it down the hatch.

Betsy swung and swung again, until she noticed the red devil himself striking here and there at Morgana. She almost missed the Beast jumping in! Elizabeth pulled her last swing, staggering back, only to realize the woodland around her was responding to her. With the others jump in, Betsy decided it was best to fall back and give them some swinging room. "Hmph," she retreated only a few steps before snapping around to whip those vines back on the dupes, entangling as many as she could.

Elsewhere ============= Meanwhile ================== A blur of pure speed races right past the melee as Quicksilver joins the fray. "No no no!" He shrieks, darting all over to scoop up the Pym particles, save the ones just consumed, rather like a child racing about on an Easter egg hunt, leaving a wisp of an after-image in its wake. As Azazel makes one last desperate feint, Morgana shifts her barrier to defend his jabs, realizing too late that it was merely a literal gambit to seize her leg. Sweeping her off her feet, Azazel throws her off balance, leaving Beast free to deliver a well-timed blow, knocking her out! Pryde gathers her strength as she watches Wisdom too begin to grow, swiping at the duplicates with massive limbs. But he might regret his rush to action, as the impact simply causes Maddrox to duplicate again...and again...and again. The sudden and massive change in height and mass causes his heart to beat at an enormous rate to keep up, the blood rushing to his head to supply the necessary oxygen sustaining him. Betsy, rushing to his aid, asserts her control over the enchanted woodland, vines and tree branches growing and multiplying almost as swiftly as the duplicates do, snatching a good many of them up before they can do too much damage. But while a good few dozen are entangled, a veritable army of duplicates remain free, making a Liliputian effort to bring down the giant Pym by using their own copies as human ladders to try and equal him in height. In thinking about it Beast may get a strange sense of deja vu to see a cohort of identically massed soldiers working in unison to surround and defeat a larger invader - there is something almost biological about it, as for this entire encounter, they have been ignoring the two native Britons..... The Goliath doesn't seem to be overtly hostile to you, but he too stomps and lumbers about in a manner causing the ground to shake beneath you, aimlessly thrashing as the Maddrox duplicates crawl atop him. Meanwhile, Morgana lies unconscious, the sizzled burn wound on her face now a faint scar mark covered by a large black eye, both of which continue to slowly heal. =========================== [[OOC: Should have made this clear, but the various natural elements Betsy is manipulating give her those stones as basically like a free weapon mod to her TK, so the actions aren't costing her extra stones to use. phencerx, the Reference Sheet also has this, but you have a temporary Strength and Durability of 6 while under the effect of the Pym Particles, which last up to three more panels (the end of Panel 6), and a Reach of 4 (50' radius). Close combat actions may require additional stones of precision to avoid hitting allies and whatnot. The reference sheet also has this, but now the Maddrox copies are spread out in roughly a 50' radius everywhere around you, tho about half their number are being held back by the woodland and roughly the remainder are focused on Ant-Man/Goliath, who they perceive as the biggest threat to them right now, literally and figuratively. Also, wasn't sure if this was too subtle, but to sort of spell it out I think Beast would probably conclude (rightly or not) that Maddrox might be acting like an immune response to a foreign body, and his experience teleporting with Azazel might lead him to think the entire realm they are in is one giant organism. As a small note, your characters would probably realize letting Ant-Man mindlessly try to fend off Maddrox would only result in more duplicates since he lacks a non-concussive means of stopping them.]]

Morgana was down and out, at least for the time being, since even if it was unconscious Pryde could see how her injuries were rapidly healing. She approached with determination, only to stop a couple steps short. "Don't" Kate's voice echoed in her mind, aware of what the young was was mulling about. "You don't know what it could cause in this strange place, but more importantly, you don't know how it will change you" she said, firm though not chastising. It seemed that she spoke of a road she had already walked along. "I wasn't going to..." Pryde protested, untrue. "I was thinking about it, just that" she said. In the tasks she had fulfilled so far, the young Katherine had lied, stolen and hurt people. But killing someone? That's a line Pryde hadn't crossed.
Yet.

As Peter looks over the battleground with his newly found aerial viewpoint, his vision begins to blur. At that moment, he clutches his chest as the adrenaline starts to wear off and the toll of growing to such a size so rapidly becomes evidently clear. Taking deep slow breaths, he calms himself and his vision begins to clear. He sees that his attempt to take out the multiplying enemy failed and now there are even more then there were before. "Bollocks....."
Peter looks around hoping to spot the original holding back somewhere. That would be his tactic if he had such powers. Unfortunately this man did not seem to move with such tactical prowess and must be somewhere inside the melee. At that moment, he notices Morgana unconscious on the ground, her wounds still healing over. He reaches inside his jacket to see if his pistols had grown with him. With a wiry grin he knows his next move.
Wisdom reaches down and picks Morgana up by the ankles. Standing back up, he pulls one of his pistols and puts it's barrel directly against her. "Hey you multiplying twat! Rassimilate and stand down, or there will be bugger all of your queenie to heal back up!"

Noting with some astonishment the speed at which the wounds are healing, as well as the spreading chaos around him, Dr. McCoy reigns in his energy and again becomes a man of science, reason, and a great right hook.
"There must be some central fulcrum point that we can take out. We have the multiplying man, the speedster, the giant, and the woman we just knocked out. Think McCoy, there must be a way..."
Moving swiftly as his body allows, McCoy leaps and dives through the hordes to clamber up Giant-Man's arm.
"Don't fight them concussively, it just makes more of them."
Action: 3 stones into acrobatics to jump onto Giant-Man and warn him.

Betsy's head was pounding. The dupes were getting harder to restrain. "I can't... keep them (hngh!)... much longer," she called over the din of combat. Sweat beaded her brow and a thread of blood had slid from one of her nostrils. She could already feel her control of the vines starting to slip. She groaned with the effort of keeping as many restrained as possible.

Azazel teleported to a safe perch on Peter Wisdom's giant-sized shoulder, far above the melee. Tuning out the chaos, the devil-man-mutant looked inward, reaching out with his subtle gift to locate the ones they'd come to rescue. It was an invaluable trick for an assassin, the ability to sense and locate minds. Of course, these were strangers and the nature of the place they were in could certainly interfere with his ability, but right now it seemed like their best chance of completing their objective and getting out alive...

Atop the battlefield, Azazel's gaze sweeps the scene below and beyond, trying to pinpoint their targets. And while he might, perhaps, have expected to be flooded with dozens of psychic signals from the Maddrox duplicates, he finds that their thought patterns are near-to-mindless, what he might expect from someone in a coma or other vegetative state. So too, the Ant-Man turned Goliath, and Quicksilver - they appear capable of carrying out their base programs, but something has quite clearly switched off any higher executive function. In the cases of the bewitched combatants, he is even having a difficult time telling one apart from the other.
He gets a similar feeling from Morgana, though in her case being unconscious makes some degree of sense, and unlike the others at least appeared capable of agency when she was awake. Aside from his companions, Morgana, Maddrox, Pietro, and Pym, there is one other psychic presence, pulling further and further away as he tries to dig deeper and deeper for it. Narrowing in, he gets the sense that it is smaller than it should be, and growing smaller, perhaps as if the owner is shrinking or shrunken, and with their size, their thoughts for some reason getting smaller too. As Emma mentioned earlier, the feeling is one that is there, but not. It is the opposite feeling that he gets from Wisdom, whose psychic presence seems to grow even as his physical size has stopped. Azazel traces the source of this odd sensation down the path, the one apparently too small for an ordinary person to fit through. Wisdom picks up Morgana between two fingertips, being careful not to crush her. He presses a giant-sized gun against her, the bore large enough for her to fit inside. At first, it seems his threats have fallen on empty ears - or minds. But Morgana's wounds seem to have stopped healing. In fact, the sizzling appears to have restarted, and even her clothes start smoking. The heat - a clearly magical reaction, even starts to tingle Wisdom, who would otherwise be desensitized to physical flames. The metal of his gun starts to glow a blueish-white, the light bright enough to be seen for hundreds of feet.
Beast bounds up the body of the giant Pym, as do the hordes of Maddrox duplicates. The Goliath seems to answer his warnings half-way, as he grabs at the duplicates attempting to hold them, but does the same to the other creature climbing up his back. McCoy is able to flip out of the way, and Pym grabs a good dozen clones in his giant mitt, but continues to claw at McCoy with his other hand.
The restrained Maddrox clones blink out of existence! The weight of keeping them in check is lifted from Betsy's shoulders, free to turn her attention to other areas. Two dozen now remain, half of which are still climbing up Pym's back - a far lower number than there were before.
Pryde, with help from the telepathic link between her, the Cuckoos and Frost, and Azazel, feels the location of their primary objective at the same time that he senses it. It might be too small for Azazel to fit even if he teleports right on top of it, but physical obstacles have rarely been a limitation for Kitty.
Meanwhile, Quicksilver is dodging the few remaining Maddrox clones that aren't focusing on the Ant-Man. =========================================================== [[OOC: The iron in Wisdom's gun is causing a continuous toxic reaction with Morgana's faerie blood and is arresting her healing for as long as she is in contact with it. It's also catching her on fire, though, and the magical reaction might become too hot for Wisdom to handle if he holds onto her once he's back to normal size.]]
