OOC ugh. Dice strike again. In this game can you spend karma to reduce the opponents' check down to the next colour/s? It's been so long since I read the rules but that seems feasible? Anyway, I think I will have burned through my Karma pool bumping that to a red so someone else may need to spend karma to step down an End check for the stone monster I think... So, do you just want to spend enough karma for another "Slam?" result? |

Pleased by the triple-whammy, Captain Marvel lands (no doubt covering her white boots in the marshy muck) and channels her energy into a full-powered blast- hoping to crack the Gargoyle's hide open like an eggshell (or a geode?)

Vision flies toward the rock beast and then solidifies and lands to strike the creature's leg with a beam of solar energy. [OOC: Due to the drain on his energy, the FIRE MISSILE WEAPON power may not be used while using DENSITY CONTROL or PHASING.]HIT!Starfox circles around to fly into the stone monster from its front in a heroic attempt to slam it back away from the city. GRAND SLAM!!The behemoth is slammed back at a speed just over 100 MPH, landing behind the Vision and Captain Marvel, but the impact also bruised Eros pretty badly. (-30 Health) Before Captain America or the Scarlet Witch can react, Captain Marvel fires a deadly barrage of photons at the boulder monster. BULLSEYE!!The blast cracks the thick coating of stone and it crumbles, revealing the Grey Gargoyle! Captain America Health: 140 Captain America Karma: 122 Conditions: None Captain Marvel Health: 60 Captain Marvel Karma: 78 Conditions: In normal form. Spent 10 Karma for a YELLOW Bullseye result.  OOC I hope to be getting back up to speed in the next day or so (everywhere I post) so apologies for the slow down. Despite work being chaotic (strikes all over the place in the UK) the shifts are horrendous with my body clock confused as to when I should be sleeping, eating, working and so on. Fun times.Starfox grit his teeth against the pain. FINALLY the creature had gone down... only to give birth to another creature, this of stone!Perhaps the two were the same and the larger beast had been some outer covering, suit of armour or the like. Regardless, this Grey skinned newcomer must surely fall to the combined might of the Avengers! Starfox swooped around and up, slowing to a halt around twenty feet or so overhead of the Grey Gargoyle (OOC this might take a round or two I guess?) Once in position he tries his 'mental tickle' on the villain, trying to persuade him to talk instead of fight! ACTIONS
Probably have to spend a round or two slowing down. When he gets chance to use his mental tickle, a roll...

Monica hears Vision's order, but knows she doesn't have the strength to restrain the Gargoyle... so instead she turns into light to swoop around and shoulder charge him.
"Okay Mika" she mutters, "you cracked the egg, now scramble the yolk."

The Grey Gargoyle blocks his eyes from the Vision, the android's beams only striking the criminal's arm of living stone!
"Merci, Vision." The Grey Gargoyle says with a French accent. "I was hoping you Avengers would free me from that casing. Now Au revoir!"
Up above, Starfox halves his speed from 180 MPH down to 90 MPH. (This is 6 mph. Once his speed is halved again, he may stop dead and land by making an Agility FEAT.) But Captain Marvel converts her body to light and accelerates toward the villain, striking his shoulder.
"I don't know you, madame, but perhaps it's best if we see if our fates will meet again." The Grey Gargoyle then leaps away from the Avengers, landing 3 areas away from where he was. He's now so far from Captain America and the Scarlet Witch, that they are having trouble catching up with the others.

Vision returns to intangible and attempts to fly at Grey Gargoyle's head, his intangible body hopefully obscuring his vision like some sort of human-shaped cloud.

OOC Change of plan if he's getting away! If Starfox still has a decent lick of speed will use whatever speed that is (6 areas/round?) to Slam into Grey Gargoyle again, cringing at the thought of maybe breaking his wrists on that stone hard skin. The '48' roll from last time can count for that, yeah? Otherwise I can foresee the grey guy getting away before Starfox has had time to slow enough to us his mental tickle... If possible direct any possible slam result BACk in the direction towards our non fliers (Cap and S Witch)?ACTIONS
Slam attack instead of mental tickle, seeing as he might get away!

Monica is a little taken aback... not by the swamp water that fizzles as it touches her light form, but being spoken to in French. As she flies after the fleeing felon and discharges a light blast, Captain Marvel searches for an appropriate response- finally fixating on an insult she heard in a playground once.

Vision chases after the Grey Gargoyle in his intangible form, but the villain remains out of his reach, at least for now. Starfox, however, has the speed necessary to reach the supervillain!
KAPOW!!
Eros feels like he just hit a stone wall. He won't be able to do that again and remain conscious, but he hurt the French felon.
Then Captain Marvel flies within range of the Grey Gargoyle, turning solid and taunting the French fiend by comparing the stone stooge to a soggy fowl.
"You think je suis poulet, because I leap away from you?" The Grey Gargoyle says. "Au contraire ma soeur. For freeing me from my makeshift life-support system, you simply had the thanks of the Grey Gargoyle. But now, Avengers...I think I shall kill you!"
The Grey Gargoyle pulls a handful of tall reeds from the marsh and instantly transforms them to stone! He then throws them with incredible strength at Captain Marvel. At the same instant, Captain Marvel lets loose a monstrously powerful blast of electro-magnetic energy! The stone 'spears' cut Captain Marvel, drawing blood, but at the same time, her energy blast hits the Grey Gargoyle, who screams out in pain! "Zut alors!!!"

Suffering from using his body as a battering ram, Starfox instead starts to slow down. His plan is to to slow enough to hover above the Grey Gargoyle (not within hands reach!) and use his mental tickle to calm the Gargoyle down. ACTIONS
Slow down and if he is attacked, use evasion to dodge any incoming attacks!

"Bien essayé... blaireau!" she shouts back, moments before realizing she really shouldn't be egging an Avengers-level villain on in her condition.
