Wanda mused inwardly.

"Just...one..yeah...okay."

Wanda fit the device over the teenager's noggin before turning it on, cautiously saying:

"Here goes nothing..."

She closed one eye and squinted the other, hoping the commotion didn't fry its circuits.

Starfox stands ready to act if need be. He had to admit to feeling like somewhat of a fifth wheel though. The Vision and Wanda were powerhouses and Captain Marvel, whilst inexperienced, would be one when she 'grew' into her powers.

As for Eros, the one the Wasp had named 'Starfox'? He felt his contribution ranked as 'must do better'. Even his little used mental tickle had been used against him and rendered him impotent throughout the entire proceedings.

ACTIONS

Act if need be. Must admit though, the character isn't great and the rolls have been utter garbage. May as well have just watched from a safe distance. So, 'must do better', indeed.

After the Wanda activates the headset, all the Avengers' vision blurs and everything seems to grow dim. After a few moments, their sight returns to normal. Immortus stands before them alongside Captain America valiant in the Avengers Mansion main assembly hall. The Scarlet Witch feels full of energy and all Captain Marvel's battle wounds seem to be healed!

Immortus congratulates you on succeeding in your mission and explains that while they were away, he was able to rescue Captain America from the past in order to join them for the second time node.

Immortus causes a window in time to open again. This time, you are watching a calm country evening. A car moves through the countryside at a leisurely pace. Suddenly, a speck in the sky grows to become a strange space ship. The space ship fires a ray at the car, which explodes. As the space ship flies on to its unknown destination, a ghostly hand the size of a house reaches up through the ground. In the hand is the body of the driver. As you watch, the dead man’s body is transformed into a familiar figure-Drax the Destroyer.

Time accelerates, and suddenly you see Drax in the company of humanoid aliens wearing space suits. They are arguing with Drax in a language you don’t understand. Drax and the aliens seem to come to an agreement, and the aliens turn and walk away. Drax flies skyward. The scene changes, and you see two satellites in outer space, floating effortlessly in the void. A green streak, barely recognizable as Drax, zooms past and blasts a satellite into space dust. Moments later, a space ship glides slowly by, missing the other satellite but severely disrupting its orbit.

The vision ends.

"The two satellites are research stations observing the sun." lmmortus tells the Avengers. "If they should be destroyed, the study of solar flares will be set back five years. Without this information, the solar flare that triggers the meltdown of all nuclear reactors on Earth will not be detected in time. To prevent the destruction of the satellites, you must delay or prevent the bargain between Drax and the aliens."

Captain America knows Drax and was witness to his death. Starfox knows Drax well, since he is the brother of Thanos, whom Drax was sworn to kill. While Drax was not a hero in the true sense, he worked for the cause of good in his own way. He was obsessed with killing Thanos, the power-mad ruler of Titan who worshiped death. When Thanos died, Drax went insane.

"Drax is not an enemy I can easily make. He, like I, have ever opposed my mad brother, Thanos, and his schemes. I have worked with and against Drax because of his single minded desire to slay the mad Titan but I also say this. We should tread carefully. We are the Avengers, we are powerful, but Drax moves in a cosmic playground of power beyond what most people can comprehend."

"I advise caution."

Captain America says, “It seems to me our mission is just to make sure those satellites aren’t destroyed. If we equip properly, no need to even cross paths with Drax. If we have a time stamp on when he hits those satellites, we can just move than and make sure they are safe.”

Captain Marvel is glad to be re-energized... but upon hearing the mission briefing she gets a bit irritated- pointing an accusing finger at Immortus.

"Speaking of caution, what kind of aliens are we dealing with- normal ones, or ones with superpowers? Because when we set off to brainwash this 'Calvin' guy, he was much tougher than an average scientist. I know we're supposed to save the Earth, then shouldn't that little fact have been shared? Or are you gonna ration information for your big smoke and mirror act?"

OOC: I know this probably isn't the best idea- it just seems like it'd be a sticking point after the ordeal we just went through.

Immortus looks troubled. "There are facts that cannot be revealed to you because of the nature of time. In this second node, the aliens need not be subjected to the memory eraser. But Drax must be. Otherwise, he will remember the encounter and attack the Avengers again the next time you meet. I will return you to Limbo as soon as the headset is activated."

With that said, the Avengers travel back in time and arrive in the area between the collapsed building and the area that has the words "Stream" and "Meadow" in the map below.

The Avengers are initially paralyzed because of the effects of time travel. When the heroes recover their senses, they can see Drax, enraged, two areas away in the one to the left of the area with the words "Stream" and "Meadow". The Destroyer is moving to attack the Avengers, followed by a group of six humanoid aliens who are in the area between the "Brush" and the "Light Woods".

Wanda whispers nervously:

"What's the play here Steve?"

She hopes the Captain will give the team, or at least herself, some guidance.

Cap looks at Wanda and says, “Well, my plan was not to be here or fight him al all but clearly, very clearly, we are being used by immortus. Why else force is into confrontation when it isn’t necessary to achieve the goal? If you can trip the destroyer up or calm him down Wanda, please do so.” He turns to Captain Marvel, “Captain if you can use your powers to at the very least blind Drax or launch him elsewhere I think it’s best we get out of his way as soon as possible.” To Vision he says, “Your incapacitation touch using your phasing ability would come in pretty handy right now Vision.”

(OOC: I don’t know the dice commands yet, or any of the cool color changing stuff… I’d like to see if I can get Starfox out of Drax’s path..)

Despite Vision's attempt to get his attention and Starfox's try at diplomacy and emotion control, Drax charges ahead toward Starfox and collides...with Captain America's shield! The star spangled hero has intercepted the alien's attack in the area with the words "Meadow" and "Stream", but while his shield protects his body, the sheer force of The Destroyer's charge threatens to slam Captain America back toward the collapsed building. [valiant please make an Endurance FEAT roll for a possible Slam.]

Meanwhile, two aliens run toward Vision, firing energy rifles at his unearthly dense form. The first shot misses, but the second scores a bullseye right in the center of that yellow diamond on Vision's chest. Vision doesn't feel any pain from it, but it was an impressive shot.

Another pair of aliens fly with jet packs toward Starfox, firing their energy rifles at the Eternal. Again, the first misses, but the second shot is a bullseye, hitting Eros on the little fox on his chest. [roxolid takes 20 damage.]

A fifth alien faces off with Captain Marvel, but it is the last alien who is the most deadly. It fires a beam of energy that strikes the Scarlet Witch in the head! [mcr takes 20 damage and please roll an Endurance FEAT on the Kill column.]
