(Popeman/malice: You have two extra stones for one panel of combat. You can use them now or later, your call And we'll wait for Grim for a little bit before the big update.)
----------
Baros tossed the Rider a snarl. "Keep that beast calm, will you? We are still in enemy territory for another five miles. Just try to keep it down."
Grud glared. "Right. Who are you anyway? Kind of strange you don't have a name."
"Suspicious," Baros added.
Kronos interrupted with a sharp hiss. "Cceasse thiss." He looked to the Stranger. "We have bigger problemsss."
The smell of blood and the persistent burns were not helping the Stranger. She looked somewhat delirious, her eyes were rolling in her head as she unconsciously pawed at her burns.
Mackenzie pulled away from Pravus as he spewed his question in her pale, gleaming face. He could hear her heart thundering, then double timing. No amount of training could keep her from trembling. A tear squeezed from the corner of her eye, but there was no way she could look away. "N.. no.." The lie was as real as the tear moving down her cheek.
Charpman groaned, his mouth bubbling with blood . "She's a kid - a f*ckin' nurse for god sake - come say that shit to someone who doesn't give a damn about you or your filthy-ass race, maggot."

The rider took quickly to the shuns of Baros. He ceased his actions immediately as did his reaver. Still he remained silent when the other asked for his name. The rider had been persecuted too many times to allow anyone to get that close. Slumped over in shame, the rider heard the larger human's cry. It wasn't until then that he realised why the weak one had been on the field of battle. He walked intently to the woman and forced her over to the berserker without any care for his superiors. Then the rider threw the woman to the floor at the berserker's feet and lifted her face to see the berserker. He said no words, but thought that he had made his intentions clear. ******************************************************************************* H: 4 E: 8

Baird muttered a few curses under his breath as Cole charged, he should have put together a scoring system before combat started. As it stood Cole will be spending his time wiping up small arms units while he would be forced to provide covering fire or have his friend meet the mean end of a boomshot.
Baird aligned his longshots reticle with the boomers skull, let out a sigh, and pulled the trigger.

(Cover: Stone boulders Description: Indestructible Value: +3
Active Reload (Baird): 4 Active Reload (Storyteller Roll): 5 White: Sh*t yeah.)
Jack yelled above the ensuing battle roars. "Let 'em rip!"
Marcus and Dom let the grenades go. The chains rattled in the air. Marcus sank the shot, clipping the last three Locusts to crawl from the earth. The hole caved in, sending them down to the tunnels they crawled from. Dom's grenade landed close to the King Raven, and Marco's body tensed. He was holding himself back from running out to the wreckage.
"Dammit - no!"
EDIT: The grenade fired off, and sent the already dilapidated remains of the King Raven caved in with the rest of the Emergence Hole. Two pieces of shrapnel tore through a Locust, knocking him off his feet where he twitched uncontrollably until he died. The others pressed on, snorting and growling as they lifted their weapons and opened fire on Dom and the rest of the party. ((Malice, sorry about that, man))
As Dom took cover, Marco grabbed him by the edge of his armor's shoulder. "The hell were you thinkin'!? There was valuable info on that bird!"
"Not the time, Marco!" Ruse hollered over the bullets, and let the grenade go. The explosive bounced and shut off the second Locust hole, catching a Locust in the explosion. He was swallowed by dirt and flame, a final guttural roar lost. "Shit," Ruse dropped back behind cover, exchanging a look with Marcus. She unhooked her second grenade from her hip and handed it to him. EDIT: "Get the grubs with this one," speaking to him was foreign, weird "I'll cover you," but honest.
There was a burst from Cole's Gnasher. The rushing Locust split into pieces on impact, spraying black-red blood across Cole's determined face. He wheeled around to get the second one, but the Gnasher's barrel was grabbed inside. The Locust squeezed and wrenched the weapon to the side, opening Cole's face up for a full frontal punch. Cole's teeth dislodged at the back of his mouth. They spit through the air, chased by ribbons of blood (-1w).
The Boomer was ready to take advantage of the shot, but Baird's timing was quicker. There was a yellow-blue flash and a spit of fire from the Longshot. The kickback was more reassuring than anything, and Baird was rewarded to see the Boomer's head whip back. The bullet had gone through, but the Boomer would not go down. Through the reticle, Baird saw a massive hole where the Boomer's eye used to be. Blood was spilling over his face out of the black, soft pit. Upon tasting his own blood, the Boomer roared and brought the Boomshot around to aim for Baird, Dom, and Marco's location.
The other Boomer lifted his weapon for Marcus and Cardinal's location. "BOOM![/color]"
"Move, move!" Cardinal grabbed Marcus by his armor and dove to the side as their cover was completely obliterated. Cardinal stood with the Longshot and took aim, firing at the Boomer's shoulder. He staggered back, buying Marcus time. Cardinal nodded to him. "Go. I stabbed you in the back once, I don't aim to do it again," she reloaded in under a couple seconds, the empty shell flipping away.
((Down to 6 Locusts, and two wounded Boomers. Active reload is still 1-10 for now. Put your pick with your stone allocations)
-----------------------------------
Mackenzie's scream echoed through the tunnel, but was cut off abruptly as she was thrown to her knees in front of the Berserker. "Oh god," she croaked. Mackenzie grunted and winced as the Rider pulled her hair back sharply. He felt some golden locks give under the harsh grip, and knew he had ripped some roots from her scalp. "Agh!"
Kronos took an impatient step forward. "Fix her!"
Mackenzie stared at the massive creature. She never thought she would get this close, and now that she was, Mackenzie was ready to wet her uniform. Her legs drew together sharply, tightly, she shivered and stared at the female Locust. The Stranger roared, as a sizzling burn on her back was giving her particular trouble. To Mackenzie's amazement, the burns appeared second degree, except for the one on her back. That was third.
She had to try twice to unhook her canteen, then three times to open it. "This.. put this on her back," she stammered, and Kronos grabbed the container from her.
"Hold her," he nodded to the Stranger. Baros and Grud grabbed her wrists and held her down securely. Kronos doused the black burn, making the Stranger reel and howl in agony. As the Stranger recovered, Kronos turned viciously on Mackenzie. "That isss it!?"
"I-I can't do any.. anything until we," she swallowed, "we find more water. She needs to s-soak and rest before," Kronos revealed the blade of the Torque Bow and glared coldly, "before I-I can do anyth.. anything else. All right? I prom," she clenched her teeth, "I promise!"

Maybe I shoulda gotten laid last night, never figured I'd miss the hole. Must be rusty. Shit!
"Yeah... Sorry."
Dom tried to keep his mistake from distracting him, and focused on shooting things. He hoped the carelessness of his toss wouldn't cost anyone their lives.
He decided the Boomer facing them could become a problem, and decided to do as much damage as possible in hopes of finishing what Baird had begun. It really sucks peaking out of cover sometimes.
=========================================================== Actions: H: 4 E: 12
Action 1: 6 stones into Ranged Combat, +3 from Targeting, +3 from my Lancer, all putting bullets into a Boomer's fat exposed belly. 12 stone 2x damage attack Action 2: 2 stones into Close Combat, keeping myself safe behind cover (shifted to defense). The stones come from the sleep I got last night.

Pravus watched in pleased silence as his men did their jobs and forced the little human dog to heal their own. He tried to hold back a smile when Mackenzie screamed, but alas, he was only so strong. After letting Kronos have his fun, he stepped forward and lifted his good hand to hold the zealous soldier back.
"That'sss enough now, Kronosss. Give the girl sssome air. She'ss been through quite an ordeal, after all. We can't expect her to ssssimply jump in and do everything."
The Colonel squinted at the wounded Stranger, taking care to study the seriousness of her burns. "Your friendsss did quite a number on our Berserker, young one. Almossst as bad as your rude friend here..." He casually sauntered back to the crochety old man still choking on his own blood. With his Claw, he pulled the man's head up by the chin, squeezing just slightly enough to cause him pain. "Hmmm...I'll make you a deal, girl. If you fix up oursss, I'll allow you to fix up yoursss.
"But you bessst be telling usss the truth now, young one," he hissed as he jerked the man's head aside and moved back to the kneeling Mackenzie. "I don't think your friend hasss as much time asss the Ssstranger here." Reaching down with his Claw, Pravus took Mackenzie's chin in his metallic palm now, but with a gentleness that no doubt freaked her out even more. "Sssuch a pretty face by your race'sss ssstandards, no doubt. It would be a shame to lossse it..."
Pravus gave Mackenzie a wink and carefully let go of her so as not to scratch her this time. He rose and turned to his men. "The Ssstranger can sstill walk, and we'll need her sssenssess to find water. There should be some kind of underground well nearby. Go, Ssstranger, and take usss to where it runsss. The resst of uss will follow."
Using his organic arm, the Colonel extended his hand with an almost gentlemanlike persuasion to Mackenzie. "Come, child. Your patientsss need you."

(Sweet, I was with in one, so that was an active reload, right?)
"Down fucking one already", Baird muttered to himself.
The frustrated COG aligned his reticle over the boomers other eye.

Marcus ducked down and ran from cover to cover holding a grenade in his hand. He slammed his shoulder into a sizeable stone wall and let the ball of the grenade sink from his hand. He swung it around and then stood at the last second letting the grenade loose into the hole.

(OOC: Grim, you get the active reload, good jaerb Popeman, this is my bad. I didn't edit everything I should have in my last post. "Dom" actually hit his mark, and where I adjusted his post, I didn't adjust Cardinal's dialogue with you. I just changed it, so adjust accordingly and I won't rush when I do the next post *blush* Sorry, y'all.)

OOC: Yeah I might've helped create the misunderstanding, I edited after Psylocke's edit but liked the "miss the hole" joke enough I didn't want to get rid of it. Basically I failed to edit the content of my post even though I tried.

OOC: Heh, it was funny though, especially with the whole "laid" comment at the beginning. Ahem, anyway.
