Wolverine, Storm and Colossus are standing at the Ready Room door to the Danger Room, a huge room designed to challenge and sharpen their mutant powers. Through alien technology, the room can simulate any terrain or opponent. Right now, nothing is showing but bare walls, though those bare walls may conceal any number of traps. At the far end of the room is a square cage, with another X-Man trapped inside. The voice of Charles Xavier, founder of the X-Men, crackles over the loud-speaker. "Good morning, X-Men. This morning's exercise is a simple rescue. Your teammate is held captive in a cage that prevents him from using his powers. You must rescue him. You may begin anytime." Piotr Rasputin, the young ex-soviet known among his teammates as the mighty Colossus, smiles as the Danger Room session starts, shouting across the room.
"Do not worry, Tovarisch Nightcrawler! I am certain we will have you free in a moment."
His skin shifts, taking on the metallic gleam indicative of his power being active: The organic steel form that makes him a force to be reckoned with, even for such enemies as the unstoppable Juggernaut. So powerful that, as was often the case, he gave little heed to the possible dangers eponymous to this room, relying on his impenetrable hide to keep him safe as he started forward, not even waiting on his leader's command.

Logan was standing besides his russian partner and Storm, looking like a dwarf compared to the massive, robust fellow who was slowly turning to his bio-organic metal state. He looked like he had a bad morning, but he seemed to have none good of late, especially since his return from Asia... However, right now, things were different: training under Xavier always meant action, and he was always ready for a good scrap.
-Y'can say that again, bub. Hang on Kurt, we'll get ya outta this cage in less time than it takes to say "Danke".
He was smiling, a rare event of late, but a frequent sight as soon as he was about to get his daily dose of violence.
*Snikkt!!*
-So, he said to Storm, do we use some kind of strategy or sheer, unhindered, brute force?
All claws drawn, the Wolverine was ready for battle, and he was already trying to locate possible traps and strategies to reach the goal. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Start H: 4/4 E: 12/12
Action 1: Pops his claws and put 2 stones into Close Combat(X-Man Multistyle), + 3 from said claws, shifted to Defense.
Action 2: 4 stones into Black Ops (Infiltration), trying to locate traps and/or ways of getting near the cage without getting our butts handed to us.
End E: 6/12 Defense: 7 (2 from Ref.Dodge, 5 from Actions)

Storm looked around the danger room, making sure that all were ready. "Wolverine, I want you and Piotr to make some headway to Nightcrawler and then stop when I tell you to. I will then lift both of you up into the air, and we shall proceed from there." Ororo Munroe observed tensed her self for battled, knowing that in the Danger Room, injury was right around the corner. ============== Start H:4/4 E:12/12
Action 1: 2 into Leadership to augment Wolverines spy training. Action 2:5 into Flight shifted to defense.

[OOC: Wolverine is dressed in his costume for the team Danger Room session. Please save the T-shirt and jeans for playing baseball in the back yard... but then don't forget Logan's cowboy hat!] Wolverine notices the hidden trapdoor, just before a giant lion robot rises through it and attacks! Blocking the attack with his metal claws then turns out to be a bad idea, as Wolverine discovers that Fluffy has an electrified mane! [glow=yellow,2,300] ZZZZZZZZZTTT!!! [/glow] Fluffy isn't the only danger in the room, six flying hoops appear directly over the cage and and begin flying toward the airborne Storm! "Aye carumba!" Nightcrawler exclaims, eliciting an odd look from Colossus. "Bet you thought I was going to say something cute in German, didn't you?" Colossus's Health: 5/5 Colossus's Energy: 15/15

Logan stepped back in defensive position, covering up a swear word or two. Training had just begun, and he already got hurt by a good old jolt. He decided that something needed to be done quick about that, and he was too proud to ask help from Colossus just after a single little wound.
-You may be some kind of moving battery with claws, kitty cat, but my claws are bigger than yours!RRROOAAARGGGH!
Steeling himself against the next jolt, he plunged both claws in the machine, hoping to rip it to shreds in one blow so he wouldn't suffer from an extended fight with the beast. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Start H: 3/4 E: 10/12
7 stones in Close Combat, plus 3 from my Armor Penetrating Claws for a total of 10 stones of Attack against the robotic lion.
3 stones into Durability, shifted to defense as he steels himself against both the attacks and the burst of electricity that will probably follow his claws plunging into the metallic big cat.
End E: 0/12 Defense: 5 (2 from Ref.Dodge, 3 from Durability)

<How odd. Nightcrawler does not seem himself today.>*
The mighty Russian mutant shook off his moment of doubt, figuring that his friend likely was simply clowning around, as he so often did. Glancing to his side, he saw the Canadian mutant Wolverine engaged with a fierce robotic lion, but Piotr chose not to interfere, knowing how Logan often reacted to unasked for assistance. Instead, he obeyed Storm's instructions, and his own first instinct, and ran forward. The Danger Room had yet to respond to his presence, after all, and there was likely little to prove dangerous to his organic steel skin. Perhaps it was best to rely on the speed and agility that was so startling for such a massive steel frame, and hope for the best.

Action 1: One stone of speed to start running towards Nightcrawler's cage. Action 2: Four stones of close combat, shifted to defense.

(OOC: Sorry for my late posting. My job hit a sudden snag so I had to work multiple shifts. My posting should back normal now.)
Storm moved back, surveying her options. The rings were coming closer, and though the seemed to be metal, looks can be deceiving, especially in the danger room. On top of that, Wolverine seemed to be in trouble. "Logan! Finish off your opponent and then assist Colossus in retrieving Nightcrawler! My winds should be sufficient enough to handle any extra enemies." Ororo raised her hands to the sky and a strong wind could be felt rushing through the Danger Room. The winds twisted and turned, hitting the rings and sending them off course. =========== Start H:4/4 E:9/12
Action 1: 5 into Mastery of Weather to use the winds and strike at the rings. Action 2:4 into Flight shifted to defense
Defense:4 from actions

[glow=yellow,2,300] ZZZZZZZZZTTT*[/glow] Logan takes another shock from the lion's mane, but then the big bad Fluffy robot shuts itself off. "Good one, mein freund!" Nightcrawler cheers. However, all the X-Men are not fairing as well as the Wolverine. Storm finds that her winds only blow half as far as she commands them to, which is not far enough to reach the flying hoops. At least that also means she has more time before the approaching rings reach her. Colossus similarly finds his charge toward the cage holding Nightcrawler to be covering less distance than he had expected. That is until the floor around the young Russian sprouts 10 "octopus" tentacles and stops him altogether! Wolverine's Health: 2/4 Wolverine's Energy: 4/12

"Bozhe moi!"
Colossus frowned slightly as the tentacles burst forth to ensnare him. This appeared too straightforward, and in the Danger Room, such an appearance was nearly always a lie. However, it was very probably best to at least try the obvious solution before exhausting himself looking for an alternative.

Action 1: Strength 9 to tear the tentacles out at the roots. Action 2: 1 stone to intelligence shifted to defense to watch for the proverbial second shoe to drop.
Defense: 7 toughness, 1 from actions.

(OOC: Just to know; did I regenerate 1 health and then lost two by the shock, or did I just somehow couldn't regenerate?)
-All clear, lovely, he said to Storm, big cat is no more. May he rest in pieces.
Logan's skin around his fingers and claws looked to be burnt somewhat bad, but he still stood... It was clear to both his teammate and their would-be rescued buddy that a normal man would have been en route to the hospital by now. But it was Logan, who was merely doing less good than he was expecting. However, his teammate Colossus didn't look in a very good position either, what with being held up by metallic tentacles and all.
-Hey, Pete, I'll give you a hand with that... If you don't mind me cutting in.
He gets to his teammate's side and start cutting at the very heart of the problem. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Start H: 2/4 E: 4/12
1 stone into Close Combat, plus 3 from claws (Armor Penetration) to cut some tentacles out so Colossus may set free.
3 into Acrobatics, 1 to get to him, 2 shifted to defense.
Also, don't forget my Animal Senses of 7, to try and "see", "hear", "scent" or "feel" whatever might be coming at me in the next few seconds...

Ororo gave the Danger Room a quick once over, grimacing at the lack of adequate cover necessary to protect herself while still allowing her to aid her teammates in any way necessary. In the mean time however, these rings were going to have to go. =================== Start Health:4/4 Energy:4/12

For the first time ever, I'm going to use the Grabbing, Holding, and Breaking Free rules from page. 45 of the MURPG Guide to the Hulk & the Avengers.
All 10 of the tentacles are attempting to grab Colossus. Colossus can now immediately decide if he is going to resist being grabbed and divert (use up) an equal number of stones from any of his actions to resist. (None of those stones would then have any further effect and are discarded.)
Colossus has 10 separate grab attempts being made on him, for 2 stones each. Since Colossus only has 10 stones in his Actions, he will be unable to thwart all 10 attempts at grabbing him, but he can divert 2, 4, 6, 8 or all 10 stones to prevent 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 tentacles from grabbing him.
Based on the post for Wolverine, his attack will be made upon one tentacle that successfully grabbed Colossus, unless I receive an update stating that Wolverine would prefer to split his stones against two separate tentacles or that he'd rather attack tentacles that failed to grab Colossus.
Ah... new rules. What fun they are.
