Bat Man: Arkham Asylum
::Night:: --Gotham City Outskirts--
Commissioner Gordon looks hard at the sign on the left of the road that reads ‘Arkham Asylum. 2 Miles.’ Just a couple feet behind him, almost all of Gotham’s police cars sit just outside the pair of heavy iron black gates. While contemplating his next move a rookie officer walks up to Jim and hands him a cup off coffee. Without even so much as a glance the veteran takes it and puts it to his lips.
“How does it look commissioner?” “Not good, not good at all.” “Why? What’s going on?” “The inmates, they have escaped Arkham.” “Wha… why aren’t we rounding them up and taking them back?” “Because they have taken over Arkham.” “Oh… so… uh… why don’t we contact Bat Man so he can help us out?” “Because Tim… he’s already inside. He’s all ready trapped. And now there isn’t much of anything we can do, but sit… and wait for the signal.”
*EARLIER THAT MORNING*
Some more permanent residents are holding a meeting. The Joker, claiming it was his birthday, called anyone who would come over to his table. He planned to let everyone in on his little scheme so that everyone knew what to do when the time came.
“Boys! ...Today is my birthday! And I want three things! A breath of fresh air… a little havoc… AND THE BAT!”

The Doctors, of course, had all been warned about Joker. He was a manipulator, a twister. Doctor Harlene Quinzel was held up as the example of why no one must ever even attempt to "fix" Joker. But there was always some new quack with a theory as to what was wrong with him. Doctor Leonard Lions was no different, no better than the others before him. But he was persistent, oh yes. Even when it should have been obvious that Joker was the one "fixing" him, he didn't stop. He probably had dollar signs in his eyes from the book he would write. Regardless, he became another pawn of The Joker. When he had looked at the calendar and realized it was his birthday, Joker had decided to give himself a treat. Producing a razor-sharp metal playing card he had made in "therapeutic crafts", he flicked it casually at the good doctor, slicing his throat wide open. As the man bled out, Joker collected his security pass, and pushed the "public address" button on the alert system. “Boys! ...Today is my birthday! And I want three things! A breath of fresh air… a little havoc… AND THE BAT!” His announcement made, he giggled a bit to himself, and then left the doctors office, headed toward the pharmacy. He needed some good chemicals...

Whistling happily as he left the pharmaceuticals lab, having ingested large numbers of random pills, some rubbing alcohol, and concocted as close an approximation to his Joker Venom as was possible, Joker made his way to the Administrators Office. With great mirth, he kicked open the door and tumbled inside.
"Hey, kids, its your old pal Joker!" Without hesitation, he tossed tiny capsules that, when broken on the ground, released clouds of Joker Venom to kill everyone in the room.

With Arkham’s administrators now staring death in the face, one managed to defiantly push a button next to a desk. The alert was facility wide. Lights flashed on and off as the man slowly passed away.

As Two-Face, his trademark was crimes involving the number two. His obsession even shows in his clothes, which are usually composed of two halves made out of very different materials. He carries a double-sided coin with one side scarred at all times.

Moving behind the mans desk, he looked over the emergency controls. Joker was aware that during the earthquake that preceeded the "No Man's Land" fiasco, the director had been able to free all of the prisoners from their cells with a push of a button. He started pushing buttons at random, in hopes that one would open every cell in Arkham. It wasn't what he'd had in mind, but it would have to do.
Picking up the public address system, he spoke to Arkhams population for the second time this morning. "We will be arriving at our destination in a few moments. You'll notice that the no smoking and fasten seatbelts lights have been turned on. Please return your setbacks and tray tables to the upright position. We hope you've enjoyed flying with Joker Airlines!
"One final announcement from your Captain. If you want to do more than just escape... if you want to put The Bat away once and for all, see me in the Administrative Office. For those of you who decide to just go out and reek havoc on Gotham... ta ta, have fun. Don't forget to write."

Harvey Dent had been debating on whether to bust out, or simply stay, and reform when he heard the Joker over the public address system. He listened intently as the Joker spoke, and then pulled out his lucky coin. After all, it was just a simple debate before the announcement, now he needed a decision.
"Heads we stay in, and reform" Dent spoke as he looked at the clean side of the coin, and slowly turned it to the scared side, "Tails...we see what trouble we could cause."
He flipped the coin, watching it flip in the air, and reflect light from the ceiling, the coin landed in his hand, and Two face snickered with a sinister grin as he opened his hand, and saw that the scared side was up. He left his cell, and started making his way to the Administrative building. He doubted he'd be the only one, there, but he was definitely going to be there.
Upon reaching the Administrative Office, Two Face looked at the dead bodies, then to the clown prince of crime, as he walked up to him, and looked him in the eye saying, "We want to know two things clown: What do we get in return for offing the bat, and where do we sign up?"

It was just as he finished the sentence that he saw the Bat Mobile on one of the many monitors before him. It passed the black bared gate just on the outskirts of the island; the Caped Crusader would be there in minutes. It seemed that Bat Man was delivering a patient to Arkham, possibly a delivery that was set up by Joker himself.

Jaded, Zsasz attempted to kill himself by hanging himself while jumping from the Gotham Bridge. Just as he was about to leap, an old mugger approached him and, pulling out a knife, attempted to rob Zsasz before he killed himself. Instinctively grabbing the knife, Zsasz turned on the mugger and looked into his eyes. He saw nothing there. Only a subhuman robot, driven by his desires. In an instant Mr. Zsasz knew how to reclaim himself. He thanked the mugger for restoring life to him, and returned the favor by "saving him from his own emptiness", by brutally stabbing and killing the man. Zsasz felt like a god. He knew he would kill again. He had found his calling, to help poor beasts shuffle off this mortal coil. Zsasz leapt from his cell as soon as it was open and disappeared down the shadowy hallways of Arkham before more than a couple of the other other inmates even poked their head out.
"So much to do, and so little time to do it!" He remarked to no one in particular as he tore off his prison jumpsuit and headed through the halls in just his underwear. He was proud of the many scars that covered his body. He wanted them to be seen. Each one signified a sleepwalking zombie he had freed from this mortal coil.
Entering the kitchen he frowned when he found no one was there. The cook at Arkham was the most sheepish lump of crap he had ever had the displeasure of encountering . She needed killing.
Still the empty kitchen allowed him to rearm himself. Rifling through the drawers he found what he was looking for after just a little searching. He had seen a brute of a kitchen assistant cutting meat with it other day. An elegant weapon. An 16 inch stainless carbon steel Wüsthof carving knife. He loved the way it caught the light and was momentarily caught up in this.
When he finally recovered from his euphoria he grabbed a handful of smaller knives and left the kitchen in a hurry on his way to the infirmary. He had so much to do and so little time!

Ivy had been waiting for this, as the doors slid open, ivy walked out. Head held high. She had been here for too long. What havoc she would wreak on the decadent, earth destroying, mindless masses of humanity. However, first she had to destroy batman, the only one who could put her back here. There was a prison guard at the end of the hallway.
"Hey, what are you doing out?" He asked surprised and alarmed.
Posion Ivy felt the still living seeds inside of him and as she caused them to start growing wildly, "What do you think silly man? Escaping" She said as he suddenly became fodder for the tree sprouting out of his stomach. He writhed in pain as the tree sucked the life out of him, and suddenly he died. Stepping over the root where his leg used to be, she heard the Joker over the loudspeakers.
"One final announcement from your Captain. If you want to do more than just escape... if you want to put The Bat away once and for all, see me in the Administrative Office. For those of you who decide to just go out and reek havoc on Gotham... ta ta, have fun. Don't forget to write." Ivy had tried to see what Harley saw in the man, but could not he was just like the rest of the mindless masses, not caring a bit about what he destroyed to get what he wanted. Harley was the only human that understood her. This was a golden opportunity to rid her self of the only one that stood in her way. And perhaps, convert some of the mindless to her point of view.
She smiled as she walked to the Administrative Office. This was the dawn of a new day for her. A day when her dream of humanity and plants living in harmony would be realized.

"What's this? An early holiday? And here I am, with no vacation plans or a decent thing to wear." Jervis said with a grin as he glanced up from his bunk as he saw the door slide open, though his grin soured some at the sound of the conniving jester's irritable voice.
It had been a minor offense, granted... But with Jervis having made a small bundle off of selling a conction based off of Joker's gas. Well... Things had been a little heated when he was recaptured. Of course, he had no way of knowing how Joker still felt, or if he even remembered. He was quite mad after all...
Standing, he procured a few small chips he had hidden in a fake floor panel, a little cache he had stored away thanks to catching one of the orderlies unaware. It was so handy having a little ace in the hole.
It would take a short while, as Jervis would apply the chips to first a few inmates, then any guards that could be restrained... Just enough for him to make his way to where his cache of goods had stored.
"There. I felt rather naked without a proper chapeu upon my head." He would say, now shed of his dull asylum clothing and dazzeling in his crushed velvet green suit, and oversized hat. He pulled out small snuff can, although contained within would instead be a diluted concentration of his wonderland drug.
"No. No. I musn't. It simply would be irresponsible of me... Why, I must keep my wits about me, if I am to survive the night." He said, as he would turn and make a big show of begining to slip the can into his pocket...
However at the last minute, he would change his mind and open it to take a hit... Sighing as a goofy and yet malicious grin crossed his face, eyes seeming to want to dialate as h e felt a warm cozy familiar sensation seeping into his brain.
"The time has come, the walrus said... To talk of many things." He giggled as he proceeded his way to the administration office, with his small cadre of mind controlled companions.
