While she and her friends are perfectly fine with that, there are others who could be quite less open-minded.) -Magic-based physical changes (-2; Willow's hair and eyes may change according to the kind and power of magic she uses. If she were to use it, D'Hoffryn would appear and offer her to make her a Vengeance Demon, which would permanently increase all her physical Abilities [Strength, Agility, Speed and Durability] and Reflexive Dodge and Toughness by 2, give her the power to teleport anywhere on Earth without spending stones, increase her Healing Factor to 2 white per turn and allow her to alter reality, but only to grant wishes to mortals as with AN 10 Mastery of Reality with several options and said restriction. HOWEVER, Willow has no wish so far to become such a demon, even though she once thought about it a few times over. D'Hoffryn himself believes it is only a question of time, but... wether this is true or not, only time will tell.) ================================================ STORY: Willow Rosenberg was simply a sweet, nerdy genius with incredible skill with computers at Sunnydale High, in California, living the normal life of a normal misfit with a crush on her lifelong friend and class-clown Alexander "Xander" Harris. That is, until she met the new student, Buffy Summers, and until Buffy saved her from the claws and fangs of thirsty vampires in a local cemetary. That event changed her life forever. Buffy was the Slayer, the Chosen One, the one girl in all the world with the power and the duty to fight and kill the vampires and demons who threatened to shatter the balance which kept the world safe, and who had to stand alone against the forces of darkness. However, Buffy was now her friend, and Willow owed her her life... so she and Xander decided that the Slayer would no longer fight alone. In time, and after countless adventures and close calls, Willow had started studying the mysterious arts of the Wiccan, magics long forgotten by those who were too blind to see. Most people ignored or didn't know about the supernatural world, and as such most didn't believe in magic. But after witnessing it first-hand several times, Willow discovered she had a natural talent for it and she learned very quickly. After a rather short love story with a young guy known as "Oz" (who also happened to be a werewolf), Willow discovered her true feelings were actually directed at a fellow wicca, a young woman named Tara, and she found out Tara shared the same feelings for her, leading to Willow falling definitely in love with her. Tara would soon be impressed by her new love's incredible ease at using magicks, stating that most people had to "work twice to be half as good" as her in magic. Their story went on and on, fighting evil at Buffy's side time and time over, until Tara unfortunately died at one of their foes' hands. This made Willow lose herself to her rage and her repressed fury (which she almost never showed to others before then), as well as her lately growing magic addiction, and she turned much darker and powerful as she absorbed the energy of dark magic books and knowledge. Only the combined might of Buffy and her mentor, Giles (who was boosted by the power of 13 of the most powerful eastern witches), as well as Willow's best friend Xander managed to bring her back to her former self, after she nearly destroyed the world to end her pain. Willow then accompanied Giles to England to learn the druidic arts and meditation techniques, in order to master her former addiction to magic and control her emotions, and the teaching only made her even stronger, as she assimiliated all the knowledge she could about the world, the spirits, magic and how all of it was connected. When she returned to Sunnydale, she was more than human... and her friends were still there for her. All of them, save Tara. Together, they had many other adventures, and even defeated the first, prime Evil itself. They saved the world several times over... but one day, Willow disappeared mysteriously. No matter what the others could do, they couldn't find her. They could only hope that wherever she was, she was okay... ...and they couldn't imagine in what kind of world she had ended up in.

Before her birth Raven's mother, Angela Roth, was associated with a mystic cult attempting to bring Satan to Earth. Instead of Satan a handsome red-haired man appeared who seduced and impregnated the teenager. Revealing himself to be the demon Trigon, Raven's mother became insane with grief and attempted suicide, but she was saved by a stranger who appeared from thin air. He offered her sanctuary in the dimension of Azarath where Angela became known as Arella, which mean the Messenger Angel. When Arella's child was born the blue and green skies of Azarath became dark and stormy. The citizens of Azarath feared the child known as Raven, but the goddess Azar tutored her teaching Raven inner calm in hopes of putting her beyond the influence of Trigon. Constantly warring with her father, who sought to use Raven as a conduit to conquer Earth's dimension, she left Azarath and sought the help of other superhumans, forming the group known as the New Teen Titans. After countless battles with Trigon he was eventually destroyed, but Raven had become subject to his influence morphing into a dark version of herself. In order to break the influence Raven's body was destroyed leaving her soul-self free and intact. "Home" being actually a small appartment in New York city, decent and clean, yet nothing formidable. She could easily afford more, but she didn't need much to live. For the last few months, she had started to like that new life of hers. The life of a normal high-school student, of a normal teenage girl. Studying, making friends, learning new things, hanging out with said new friends... Except, of course, that she already knew all that she was supposedly learning, and that she didn't have many "friends". When she had left the Titans, after most of her former comrades-in-arms had done so themselves, Raven had adopted her new name and a new life to go along with it. She had decided to allow herself to live a normal teenager's life, something she never had... she had spent most of her years in Azarath, trying to understand her powers, and control her emotions, so that she didn't end up destroying all that (and those) she cared about around her, so that she didn't end up becoming more like her father. Cursed be his name. That, among other things, was why she had left her former superhero team, why she was living alone in that appartment, why she was returning to school day after day, despite the fact she already know most of what she could be taught there. And for several months, she had enjoyed it. She had learned a bit more about what it truly meant to be "a normal girl", just by looking around her at school, in the streets, in class. She knew a bit more how normal people lived life. However, one of the things it teached her the most was that no matter how hard she would try to be, Rachel Roth wasn't "normal". Not in the strictest sense of the word, at least. She could do her best to convince other people that she was... in fact, she had gotten much better at this little game in time. But it was only an illusion. A cover. Rachel couldn't feel like other girls, she couldn't love like other girls. She wasn't even truly a girl of her apparent, physical age! She could have been the much older sister of all her fellow classmates; in fact, she could even have been the mother of some of the youngest. It had taken time, but she finally had realized that while she was now able to seem normal, she couldn't avoid the truth. And the truth was that she was something else. That was why every once in a while, she got back at her appartment and put on her "true" clothes back on. That was why she put her cloak on her shoulders, why she hid her face again under the shadows of her hood. Why she patrolled the streets out at night, searching for crimes to stop, thugs to punish, thieves to arrest. Rachel Roth had enjoyed the life of a normal life for a while... but she wasn't Rachel Roth for real. And Raven missed the satisfaction of her former superhero life. But what could she do? The Titans was no longer like she remembered. Her place wasn't there anymore. She was alone again. She could do it... she had felt alone for most of her life. But once again, like several times before despite her obsession at convincing others it wasn't so, Raven had no other choice than to admit to herself that she enjoyed the company of others who weren't 'normal' humans. She had to admit to herself that she didn't enjoy being alone as much as she claimed. Before she could realize it, she was already at her floor in the building in which she lived. The sound of the elevator stopping was what brought her back from her inner thoughts and past memories. She sighed, grabbed her school backpack and walked out of it and to her door. Using her key, she walked in it and threw her schoolbag on her bed, one room away from the entrance (it had blue sheets, just like her bed in Titans tower... back then). She closed the door behind her and let out another sigh. The appartment was perfectly clean; Raven hated untidiness. Everything had a place and everything was in it, always, and whenever she used something, she put it back in exactly the same place where she had taken it. The most impressive thing in her appartment was the outstanding library of ancient books and texts located on the western wall of her room (it had a mystical signification... a spell of protection she knew of that required the bookshelves to be on the side where the sun set). To most people, it was a boring bookshelf, with little more than magazines, school books, fantasy and horror novels (in reality, her true bookshelves hidden under that illusion had a lot of those, but they also had much more dangerous things). She sat on her bed next to her bag and looked at the walls. She had painted them black (in her room, anyway), mostly because it helped her meditate and relax... it wasn't too good for the lighting, but she didn't care one bit. As she was once again starting to get lost in her thoughts, the phone rang once... twice. She looked at her Raven uniform, in her closet. She wanted to patrol the streets tonight... if it was Melissa, that girl at school, again asking for help in maths, she'd never had the time... oh well... there would be other days. There is a bounty of 60 billion double dollars (the currency in his world) on his head, and almost every bounty hunter, murderer and... poor folks with guns with less morals would be after him should they learn of his identity.) -Psychological (-2; Vash hates being alone. He loves surrounding himself with nice people, discussing about things and playing games with children. He likes to joke and kid around, and he loves to help people in need. If he can help it, he'll never stay alone for long.) -Pacifist (-4; although he carries several weapons, Vash is a resolute pacifist. He would never willingly kill or hurt any human, nor would he allow anyone to come to harm around him if he can help it. The submachine gun (+3; 2x damage) holds regular UZI ammo, and must be reloaded after 8 panels of shooting.) -The Angel Gun (+4, 2x damage, holds 6 bullets, range: 5; adds +5 to Angel Arm when used in this way. Although it can't be destroyed, it is possible to jam it or break part of it, in which case a few repairs may be necessary): a very powerful "45 Long Colt AGL Arms Factory" Six-Shot Double Action Revovler, this gun is Vash's favored weapon when he does need to defend himself in a gunfight, usually using it to disarm his foes or to disable them in any kind of way other than harming them by shooting directly at them. When Vash holds it with his right hand and wills it to do so, he can transform it into the "Angel Arm cannon", a terrible weapon of mass destruction that only targets non-living matter, which means it could easily destroy an entire city and the surrounding landscape, leaving its entire population alive, but homeless and without food for miles. Obviously, Vash would never use it in such a way unless there was an extremely good reason.) -Hidden knives (+1 to +2); Vash has several knives hidden here and there in his coat, mostly to use as tools, or to defend himself if necessary. -Several'45 bullets in his pockets. He travels around "Planet Gunsmoke" and tries to bring peace to where there once was chaos. Unfortunately he has no luck and wreaks more havoc than he can fix (poor guy). His past is a mystery. Unbelievable rumors about him flow through the public like wind. He changed one of the Seven Cities into a mountain of rubble, made a big hole on the Fifth Moon, and some say he was directly involved in the Big Fall, the crash of the spaceships, over a hundred years ago. There are many who doubt the existence of this half legendary figure. There are, however, those few who have dealt with him closely tell of his true nature. His good nature is unparalleled but credulous. He hates conflicts. A soft-hearted guy who is a pacifist and who had never killed a soul until forced to do so by Legato Bluesummers, one of his worst foes. Yet those rumors have just one thing in common...that he is superbly skilled in gun techniques. Once his gun (an AGL ARMS .45 Long Colt) is fired, no enemy remains standing. Conflicts end unquestionably. Another interesting note is that Vash's left arm is actually cybernetic. The hand lowers to reveal a concealed gun... But believe it or not, it's his right arm that's the more dangerous. If there's one more thing that's certain about him, it's that this devil who wears a red coat is watching people's lives from a distance. Chaos Space -War has access to a small pocket dimension named the Chaos Space, in which he may deposit up to 20 objects at once, no matter what their sizze or weight. No one else but him may access the Chaos Space, and putting in or taking out an object takes a single panel and no stone of energy. To all onlookers, he simply materializes the object he needs out of thin air. War uses this to carry his other weapons and equipment aside from Chaoseater. Reconstitute Self -As a Horseman of the Apocalypse, War cannot truly die. If defeated, his corpse will vanish, only to reform again when the danger is passed or an hour later, whichever comes first. WRATH POWERS-Hellfire (2 Wrath stones per panel): War surrounds his weapon in the fiery flames of Hell, turning it into an even more fearsome tool of destruction. The weapon deals 2x damage, or adds 3 to its weapon modifier it it already dealt 2x damage prior the activation of the power. If the weapon is a projectile weapon, the projectiles themselves are covered in hellfire. -Bloodthirst (3 Wrath stones per panel): War's weapon is covered in a reddish aura. When the weapon strikes, it drinks the blood of the victim to send it back to its wielder, effectively healing 1 white stone of Health per 2 white stones of damage. This power is useless against foes who lack blood, such as skeletons or most golems. -Affliction (1 Wrath stone per Bad Luck level, plus 1 Wrath stone per Duration level as per the D&R chart): War can summon spirits and fiends to put a terrible curse that spells doom and failure upon his enemies. Immolation (1 Wrath stone per panel): War engulfs himself in a barrier of hellfire, scorching anyone and anything foolhardy or unthinking enough to touch or attack the horseman directly. It works as Electrification 5 stones (of the element Hellfire), but Energy Defense is worthless against this. Stone Skin (3 Wrath stones per panel): War increases the density of his skin and the might of his muscles by calling upon the power of the Nephilim. While this lasts, his Strength increase by 1, his Toughness by 3 and his weight to 750 lbs. Blade Geyser (5 Wrath stones per panel; may not use two panels in a row): War concentrates the dreadful power of his full might into his sword, Chaoseater, before driving it deep into the ground. A second later, a deep, terrible rumble can be heard from the depths of the Earth as dozens of blades, identical to that of Chaoseater, erupt from the ground to butcher without mercy any creature and destroy any object and structures around War. This power acts as an area effect of up to area 3, centered on War (but not affecting him of course), dealing the damage of a single Close Combat action to anyone and anything within the area that is touching the ground (flying beings are unaffected). Chaos Form (10 Wrath stones per panel): War abandons his lesser body temporarily to inhabit his true form: that of a 25 ft tall, reddish-black winged abomination covered in smoke and in flames, and carrying an even larger sword made of dark steel and pure flames of hell. The ground shakes with every step the creatures takes, and even the most battle-hardened demon or archangel fears its unholy might. Under that appearance, War's Strength increase by 8, his Durability by 5, his Toughness by 5 (and becomes No 2x damage), his Untoppable by 2 (and its Speed bonus becomes a Strength bonus), his Shadowflight becomes "true" Flight with the corresponding speed, his Frightful Presence doubles, his Enhanced Healing Factor temporarily becomes Instant Healing Factor, his Energy/Mental/Magical Defenses increase by 2 each, and finally, War is under the effect of both the "Hellfire" and "Immolation" wrath powers' effects. While in the Chaos Form, he cannot (of course) ride his steed, Ruin, nor can he speak (only growl, snarl, or roar). For all its might, War rarely uses his true form, because it leaves him exhausted for 4 panels afterwards (-2 to all actions), and because doing so tends to cause massive collateral damage if only due to his size and weight (8 tons) during the transformation. (Here, War in Chaos form, on the left.) CHALLENGES-Duty (-4; War is the first, and most powerful, of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and the messenger of the Charred Council. When the Seven Seals fall at the end of the world, he shall ride forth on his mighty steed, Ruin, and with his brothers and sister, punish the wicked, be they angels, demons or mortals. Meanwhile, his duty is to ensure that no side gets the upper hand and brings damnation to the world before its time.) -Code of honor (-3; War is an honorable and loyal warrior, bound by his own code of honor. He will never lie and always hold his end of a bragain if at all possible. He nevers attacks from behind, facing his foes directly no matter what their strength. To him, stealth and sneak attacks are cowardice. Although he despises demons and angels no matter what their might, he shows great respect to warriors who prove themselves brave and loyal, or otherwise worthy of his admiration. He doesn't kill mortals unless they stand in the way of his duty, and will even help them if he judges that their time hasn't come yet.) -Looking non-human (-4; despite being humanoid in appearance, War's height, his heavy musculature, his glowing white eys, his silver white hair and the aura of menace surrounding him, not mentionning his superhumans feats, clearly set him apart from mortals, and he can hardly hide this fact.) -Oath of the Horsemen (-4; War is bound by the will of the Charred Council, and will never disobey a direct order from it. He hears their commands in his mind and act according to their wishes to the best of his abilities.) -Infamy (-2; as a being whose power lies in destruction and battle, and whose abilities may seem demonic to the untrained eyes, War is often mistaken as evil by onlookers, while he is actually more of a neutral force.) -Arrogance (-2; while it is not "Extreme vanity" per se, War is aware that his power is at least equal to some of the most powerful divine entities in the multiverse, and takes it in consideration when dealing with anyone else. As such, he will often refer to humans as "mortals", and hardly shows more respect for even powerful entities unless they prove themselves worthy as per his code of honor.) -Vengeful (-3; as much as he is honorable, War expects the same from his enemies, lest they face his wrath. Anyone who betrays him, lie to him or otherwise intentionally mislead him will anger him beyond words, leading to him doing everything in his power to punish the culprit unless he has more important matters to attend to [and even then, War never forgets such an insult].) -Hatred/prejudice (-3; against angels, demons and other entities threatening the balance of good and evil before the end of the world.) -Deadly enemies (-5; most demons and angels recognize War for the threat to them that he is, and often will attack him on sight... unless they are smart enough to recognize him REALLY for the threat he is and either leave him alone or obey his command to stop whatever they were doing that was threatening the balance in the first place.) ================================================ EQUIPMENT (Most descriptions and pictures from www.HolyFragger.com, with MURPG data from me! XD) -Chaoseater is a sword unlike any other. This unforgiving weapon has slaughtered countless enemies, their fate foretold by the death-masks artfully etched along its massive blade. And many a battle has been decided by Chaoseater's viciously honed edge, which can slice through the thickest demon bone as if it were candle wax. Essentially, it is a large +5 AP Sword, dealing 2x damage on Demons and Angels, and ignoring 2 MNs of Toughness even if the target has No AP option to Toughness. The sword is indestructible. War always know the location of Chaoseater, and may teleport it next to him as a normal action only by spending stones for Range. If a being is holding it when he teleports it back to him, hey may choose wether to bring the being with it or not. As with most ancient arcane weapons, Chaoseater's true power can only be unleashed by a master equal to its blood-stained legend. Such a master is the Horseman War. Anyone else must have at least Str 5 if only to lift the blade, and must have at least 6 to wield it in battle. In such a case, the sword is only a +3 AP sword, Indestructible. The Crossblade: There are many profane weapons scattered about the ashes of Man's kingdom. Few can match the speed and lethality of the Crossblade. It is a cluster of four blades that can be thrown with brutal force. After arcing deep into flesh, the crossblade returns to its wielder's hand, ready to be thrown again. It is a +5 throwing weapon, Indestructible, which always return to the thrower's hand wether or not it hit the target. And if that were not enough, the weapon carries an additional, malevolent secret. The Crossblade can absorb the properties of certain elements it passes through, such as fire and plague, and translate them into further mutilation. Even the mightiest of the Dark One's legions would dread a warrior who brandished a weapon of such devastating power. In game terms, if the weapon flies through a certain element while on its way towards a target (such as passing through a wall of fire, a waterfall or a cloud of poison gas), the weapon gains a temporary (1 panel) enhancement of 3 to its weapon modifier, of the element in question. Harvester: Death's Scythe, the Harvester, boasts a blade that resembles a barbed wing - a fitting shape, for few weapons cut through the air with more graceful, and life-ending, precision. This fabled weapon was made many ages ago, to fill the bony hands of the Horseman Death. It is deadly indeed, for it is a +3 AP Weapon, indestructible, with three deadly powers. First, it reduces the cost of the Wrath power "Bloodthirsty" to 1 Wrath stone per panel. Second, it allows War to strike at any foe standing in an area of 10 ft around him in a single slice. Last, but certainly not least, the Scythe actually devours the soul of a victim with a single strike, as per War's Soul Eater's ability. While this does not kill the victim in and of itself, it does prevent resurrection if the victim does die (except if a pact is made with War, as usual), and the victim, should she survive, will feel "empty inside" and lacking energy and emotions (mostly this is a flavour effect, reflecting the fact that the victim has now lost her soul). Mercy: The Horseman Strife's favored weapon. On the battlefields of the ruined Earth, the pistol known as Mercy would seem modest. With four barrels ornamented by simple depictions of smoke and flame, it is easily dwarfed by weapons wielded by angels and demons alike. Yet it is far deadlier than any firearm. Mercy generates its own supply of lethal bullets, the rate of fire is defined only by how quickly its master can pull the trigger. In skilled hands, the gun's endless fusillade of bullets can cut down an entire enemy regiment. It is an indestructible handgun, providing a +4 weapon modifier, 2x damage, and stuns angels and demons for 1 panel should any damage occurs. It has unlimited ammunition, and fires at a range of 5. Earthcaller: An ancient horn made out of the bones of an archdemon. Even when silent, the Earthcaller appears to be screaming. Its mouth has been carved to resemble two demon faces twisted with rage. The horn is a powerful artifact, able to channel fury into raw sonic power. Although its initial purpose was awakening the Tormented Gates, it can also serve as a decent weapon... or merely a symbol of the arrival of the Horseman of War. When War wishes to blow in the horn, he simply uses stones in Durability, and the horn will produce a deafening sound of sheer sonic might. It then generates a sonic blast of 2 stones/stone put in Durability, dealing either normal damage or Stun damage, and will push back or knock down (if the Target has a Durability of 3 or less) the victim several meters away. The blast has a range of 2, but the sound of the horn can be heard up to 1 km away per stone of the blast. Note: A human being (or lesser demon, animal or creature) killed by this blast is usually ripped open by the sheer power of the sonic blast. Not a beautiful sight. The Tremor Gauntlet: Among the relics lost beneath the earth, the Tremor Gauntlet is uniquely frightening. It is an ancient glove lined with spikes, a glaring demon face etched onto its surface. The demon's eyes glow red with a single purpose - to amplify power. To possess the Tremor Gauntlet is to become the weapon. For the Tremor Gauntlet's master, each finger has the fortitude to break enemies in half. Imagine armor imploding at the force of a blow, and massive barriers crumbling to dust. It is the stuff of demons' dreams. War wears it on his left arm, which increase his Strength by 2. Additionally, all punches made with the glove are Armor Penetrating. Finally, War can clench his fist and strike the ground with might. When he does so, he puts stones in Strength, and generates an Earthquake of half the stones he put in Strength, in an area equal to the strength of said earthquake. -The Abyssal Armor: War's regular armor is actually part of his body, but he may instead equip this ancient artefact of power, known as the Abyssal Armor. This incredible armor essentially increase War's Toughness to 10 (with No AP option), increase his Energy Battery and Deep Reserves by 3 each and grants him total immunity to Poison of any kinds. War however seldom uses it, as he considers his usual might to be far enough in most cases. -The Armageddon Blade: Another legendary artefact and War's most devastating weapon, the Armageddon Blade, not unlike the Abyssal Armor, does not see much use in War's hands because he rarely actually needs them. It is a +7 AP Sword, ignores up to 4 MN of Toughness even if it has the No AP option, deals 2x damage to most creatures and 3x damage to angels and demons, it is indestructible, acts as if the "Bloodthirsty" Wrath power was always active and increase War's Wrath by 2 Wrath stones every panel only by being held. War always knw its location and may summon it back to him like the Chaoseater, and it requires the same strength to be lifted or wielded by anyone else than him, although it will only act as a +4 AP sword, indestructible. Ruin: Although not a piece of equipment per se, Ruin can be summoned/put away like any piece of equipment, and is the mighty steed of War. A large (at least, much larger than normal horses) warhorse seemingly made of ash and lava, this black and fiery-red steed seems made out from a pure nightmare. Its hooves are covered in flames, its eyes are red and glow eerily in the shadows of night. Int 5, Str 6, Agl 5, Spd 6, Dur 5, Close Combat (Str.bonus) 4, Electrification 5 (Hellfire), Reflexive Dodge +3, Toughness +2, Hooves (as Claws) +3. Ruin cannot truly die, for its existence is tied to War. However, if it is destroyed, War must wait for 1 hour before summoning it again. War and Ruin always know where each other is and what each other think, and Ruin will always act accordingly to its master's wishes. ================================================ STORY: He is War made flesh. War, the first Horseman of the Apocalypse, former member of the Nephilim, the first children of the creator, prior to their destruction and near eradication at the hands of the archangels. Like his brothers, Strife and Death, and his sister, Fury, he survived the battle and pledged to serve the Charred Council as one of their enforcers, as one of the Four Horsemen, thus gaining immense power and strength from their benefactors. Together, they would ensure that the balance was respected, that neither angels nor demons would gain the upper hand in their unending conflicts and battles, so that neither side could bring the apocalypse upon the world of man until it was supposed to happen. For it was their duty, the Horsemen's, to ride forth when the Seven Seals would be broken, and bring upon punishment to the wicked and devastation to the world in its last hour. However, things didn't go as planned. Was was betrayed, and framed for the premature arrival of Armageddon and the annihilation of mankind. He stood in front of the Charred Council's judgement for a crime he did not commit, and was granted a chance to atone for his sin and punish those truly responsible. He grabbed his sword, the legendary Chaoseater, and returned to the now-destroyed kingdom of man in search of the ones truly responsible for the end of this world. Facing legions of angels and hordes of tormented fiends, War brought vengeance and destruction upon those who had betrayed him, upon those who had brought destruction upon a world that was still supposed to live for a long time. He defeated the sinners and the traitors, and he claimed back the power that he had lost.

Ranko proved worthy of that title by defeating Rose, the former greatest warrior, in single combat.) -Backpack (in which she carries most of her things. It seems small, but it has many pockets and is really tough. And when one looks closely, it isn't that small at all.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STORY: Saotome Ranma was the proud son of Saotome Genma and his mother Nodoka, a strong-willed boy with an unusual potential for martial arts that even exceeded that of his father, who decided the boy would succeed him as the family's master of the Anything Goes school of Martial Arts. In order to train him, Genma took his son on several merciless and extremely difficult training trips, putting his life at risk over and over again and forcing him to fight for his survival against overwhelming odds... all for his own good, according to his father. His crazy training techniques included, for example, covering his son with either meat or fish and throwing him in a cave full of cats (causing a very severe ailurophobia in the young boy) and stealing food and money in a village before putting the blame on his son to see how (and if) he would get out of that situation. It was cruel, but it seemed to work, mostly. Ranma was toughening up and learning various tricks, and sooner than his father expected, he soon became a very powerful martial artist. Actually, maybe a little too good. A few months later, during a training trip to China, while Ranma and his father were having one of their traditional morning "father VS son" battles, Ranma was thrown off a cliff by his daddy dearest and fell down into one of China's famous cursed springs, the Nyannichuan, or "Spring of the Drowned Girl". According to the legend, a girl had drowned there a thousand years ago, and since then, those who fell into that spring would turn into a young girl when in contact with cold water, and back into their true form when splashed with hot water. Unfortunately for young Ranma, his all-time rival and fellow martial artist Hibiki Ryoga was passing by at the same moment and accidentally dropped a magical powder into the spring which made the effects permanent. The psychological shock was more than the new girl could handle and she passed out. Genma saw this as an opportunity to get rid of his over-talented "former son", saying that he didn't want a daughter and wouldn't take a girl as a student to succeed him as the new Anything Goes master. He dishinerited Ranma and adopted his rival as his successor and new son, leaving Ranma to die. However, the girl was found and rescued by Shampoo, the daughter of the elder of China's most powerful tribe of amazons, Cologne. She brought her back to her village, where they nursed her back to health. It took several weeks, but they managed to give the girl her self-esteem back and help her deal with the fact that she was not a man anymore. She still had severe psychological scars, however, and she disliked men and hated her father. On the plus side, she found her will to live back, instead of simply surviving. She was a fighter, she could not allow herself to die because of one man, especially not her father. With the help of her "sister", Shampoo, and their mother Cologne, the newly christened "Ranko" trained in the secret martial arts and techniques of the Amazons, mastering new techniques faster than anyone the elder had ever seen. After months of training, she had become better than most amazons after decades. As a reward for her successes, Cologne used secret techniques and potions to make her vastly exceed the potential of any humans and tap into her inner strengths. One year and a half after being adopted by the tribe, she challenged Rose, their best warrior, in single combat, and after a terrible fight that lasted two days, she finally defeated her, becoming the tribe's best warrior, and earning the right to carry Moonwhisper, one of the tribe's three great treasures and the legendary sword of the Amazons. Three years later, Ranko and Shampoo travelled to Japan to participate in a huge martial arts championship in the name of their tribe. They fought and defeated most warriors with ease and deadly efficiency, until Shampoo was summarily beaten by a young man gifted with amazing strength and fighting with a much too familiar martial art style... the Anything Goes martial art of the Saotome School. The young man was Ryoga Hibiki, Ranko's former rival, the adopted son of Genma... her father. Looking at the crowd, Ranko saw her father and her mother (who didn't recognize her). Her blood was boiling with vengeance, and soon she met Ryoga for a semi-finals battle. Ryoga was incredibly strong, even slightly more so than herself. She had little doubt he had long become better than her father, as she had herself. He was the strongest master of Anything Goes martial arts, ever. And yet she was faster. She was more agile. She knew many, many more tricks she had ever learned from her father. Ryoga wasn't as blind as her father was. As the battle continued, he was looking at the amazon girl whose physical strength almost matched his, despite it being his greatest advantage. There was something familiar in her... something too familiar. Then he paused, wide-eyed in surprise, looking at her: -R... r.... Ranma?!! The redhed shook her head, grinning. -Not anymore. Name's Ranko now.Everyone in the crowd had heard the young man, and Saotome Genma was looking at his former son with disbelief and... fear. Ryoga raised his hand, taking a few step backs. -.... I surrender. You're much stronger than me... and you deserve to win that battle so much more than me. For a moment, everyone was silent, including Ranko. Then, a thunderous roar of applause was heard for several minutes, during which Genma left the arena in disgrace while his wife was looking daggers at him. Ranko would later learn he had told her Ranma had died, but at that point, she didn't cared about her father anymore. He was too weak... too vile... to bother her anymore. She would later fight in the final battle, and win it after an incredible fight. But this wasn't the true victory for her. The true victory was when her mother came to her, crying tears of joy, happy to learn that her lost son... err, daughter, was still alive and healthy, safe and sound. She offered her a place back at home, but Ranko politely refused, saying her home was now with the amazons. Nodoka and Ryoga told her she'd be always welcome, and that they wished things could have been different. In the end, this was a greater reward than the prize money for winning the championship. As was the look on her father's face when he left. After saying goodbye to her "new" friends, Ranko left with Shampoo for the village where they lived happily, fighting, training, and being on their way to truly become the greatest martial artists of all time. IMPORTANT NOTE: This whole story isn't from me, it's a fanfic I read somewhere (though I can't, for the life of me, remember where). The lines of Death appear as dark red "cracks" that she can see at the surface of any given object. If she follows those lines with a knife, some kind of sharp object or even her fingers, she can cut it, easily. Even the hardest metals fall to pieces when she does so. Of course, some supernatural creatures are more resilient to this effect, but no object short of a divine or extremely powerful supernatural artefact is immune to this ability (GM's choice). -In game terms, this power makes all of Eliza's Close Combat attacks Armor Penetrating and deal 2x damage all objects and beings lacking Toughness. Additionally, creatures with an armor or similar protection granting them "No Armor Penetration" is useless against her ability, unless it takes the form of a Force Field, since energy has no "Lines of Death" for her to cut. However, the "No Armor Penetration" bought with a creature's own Toughness does apply against her Mystic Eyes ability, although with a reduced Toughness Value of -2. NOTE: The Mystic Eyes are also the reason why Eliza is so skilled at close quarters combat despite not being trained in it. A mystic eyes user is instinctively able to fight and is especially good at striking the lines of Death... effectively making them "natural born killers". NOTE 2: Objects destroyed and creatures killed using this ability literally fall to pieces (in roughly a dozen pieces, depending on the size of the object), which can be rather gruesome (and makes no senses, as far as medical science is concerned: "How could anyone cut someone to pieces so easily and with such precision using only a freakin' pocket knife?! Let alone a small kid!"). Oracle of Death -As Precognitive Flashes/Dreams -Can only have visions of specific people who are going to die, and/or of events that will cause death -Visions are caused by her experiencing the fear, helplessness and the pain of the spiritual imprints of the people about to die. -Whenever Eliza has a vision (and thus turns into Alice), she almost immediately begins drawing the person/scene/event she saw for the next three panels, as if she was possessed or something. Once the drawing is done, neither Alice nor Eliza will remember having done it. NOTE: If Alice is in danger after a vision, she will defend herself. As soon as she is safe, however, she will resume drawing what she saw. -Power out of control (Eliza cannot choose when or if she gets a vision, as normally for this Modifier. However... when she does, her eyes become strangely pale, apparently unseeing and she does not seem to focus on anything. Additionally, getting a vision immediately makes her shift to her Alice personality for at least three panels or more [past three panels, control returns to the player who may return to Eliza personality or retain that or Alice for longer]. If she was already Alice when the vision began, she loses consciousness for two panels, and awakens as Eliza.) She must wear special glasses, given to her by her mother, to block her special ability so she does not get very painful headaches from sustained effort from her mind. The authorities concluded to a murder by some kind of insane killer with a bladed weapon, and Eliza was too shaken and terrified to explain anything. She misses her true parents, and sometimes has nightmares about the night they were killed.) EQUIPMENT-Mystic Glasses (made by her mother, those magical glasses block Eliza's ability to see the Lines of Death, which allows her to not exhaust her mind too much and thus not have constant headaches. However, her other abilities function normally even with the glasses, so she still might see the dead. The glasses may only be made by one skilled in the use of Magic, but anyone with a Mastery of Magic at AN 4 or more, and who is aware of the girl's problem being the Mystic Eyes, is able to create a pair.) -Mystic Knife (+2 weapon. Also created by her mother, this pocket knife is of exceptional quality and is much tougher than most blades. Additionally, although it can be broken, stolen or lost, an enchantment always makes it return, unbroken and clean, to Eliza when she awakens from sleep. The knife is held in a small sheath decorated with silver, that shares the enchantment. It was the last thing her mother gave her, and Eliza gets extremely depressed if it's taken from her or if it breaks, even if she knows that it'll return to her eventually.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STORY: Elisabeth "Eliza" Townsend was the unique daughter of Philip Stuart and Helena Townsend. The trio lived a peaceful life in London, England according to all who knew them. At least until the brutal murder of her parents... and unbeknownst to everyone else, even before that. Helena Townsend was the seventh daughter of a seventh daughter, and was born with powerful magical abilities, something that was far from uncommon in her family. She married Philip Stuart, a former thief who had atoned for his past crimes and was now working as a police contact and private detective, and the both of them fought both crime and mystic threats under the cover of a simple, though rather wealthy family. When Elisabeth was born, Helena insisted that the child would have her own family name, not her husband's. Soon, they noticed something was wrong with their daughter. She seemed able to see things that weren't supposed to be seen and was plagued by constant, painful headaches, so her mother hit the books, searching for answers. Soon, she found what she was looking for. Using a spell mentionned in an old dusty book that had belonged to Helena's grandmother, Eliza's mother discovered her child had the ability to perceive the spiritual imprints of the dead and hear their voices. Even more, she seemed to be able to follow strange dark lines on people and objects. Although at the time the young girl did not have the strength necessary to affect those lines in any way, Helena learned that her child had an extremely rare ability... the Mystic Eyes. A child could be born with the Mystic Eyes only in a family powerful in magic, a family in which at least one member had made a pact with a demon in the past (Helena's grandmother had. Actualy, it was part of the reason why she died), and even then, only more or less a single child out of a thousand would be born with such a power. Eliza was special, that was for sure. To make life easier for her daughter, Helena created a special pair of glasses that she called "Mystic Glasses", to block Eliza's ability to see the Lines of Death, which allowed her mind to rest and made the headaches stop. As she grew older, Eliza was found to be particularly smart and mature for her age, being especially gifted in artistic skills. She soon could paint, draw, sing and dance better than most adults ever would, and had an exceptional memory. However, her constant visions and troubles made her aloof and lonely, as she didn't make friends easily and was often labeled as crazy or freak by other students at school. Soon, it became obvious she couldn't keep learning in a regular school, so her parents hired a private teacher for her. Things were difficult, but they were getting better. In time, Helena and Philip hoped, their daughter would learn magic to control or even shut down her visions. However, things didn't go as planned. One night, a longtime enemy of the couple managed to get past the supernatural defenses the sorceress had created around her house and broke in. The couple tried to stop the rampaging monster, but they had been taken by surprise. Awakened by the ruckus, their daughter went to their room just in time to see her father die as he tried to free his wife from the demon's claws. When Helena saw her daughter, she threw her a small metallic object and uttered only a single word: "Run..." before the demon finished her off. When she looked at the object, which was a small pocket knife in a beautiful metallic sheath, something happened. The shock of her parents' death... the mysterious power of her Mystic Eyes... the presence of the demon... all of it changed something in her. Her glasses fell off her face, and when she looked up again at the creature that had killed her parents, her eyes were cold and dark, her look was mad, enraged and lacking any positive emotion... and she was grinning. A weird predatory smile. Alice was born. Moving unnaturally fast for a human being, she grabbed the knife in one hand and ran directly towards the monster, slashing at it with relentless fury and hatred. She could see the lines of Death with a clarity Eliza had never experienced before, and she hit them with all the inhuman might and precision her hidden self was capable of. The demon was badly hurt, almost dying. One of its arm had been severed and it was bleeding severely. However, as Alice moved in for the kill, the demon attempted to defeat the child once and for all with one last desperate claw strike. Both succeeded. The demon was sliced in two; but not before it had slit Alice's throat. The girl coughed, turned around, and lost consciousness. When she woke up, she was in an hospital, one days later, with a nasty scar on her neck. The police later explained her that she had been found unconscious next to her parents' bodies, and that the wound was already nearly healed, something they couldn't explain. They found nothing else on the crime scene, aside from damaged furniture. No traces of anything else, no demon body or blood, no nothing. The police concluded to a murder with a sharp weapon, but the murderer was never found. The young girl was taken in by the authorities, who arranged for her to be taken care of by sending her to live in a foster family... unaware of the child's mysterious second personality.

CHALLENGES-Amazons' Code of Honor (-4; Shampoo follows all of the laws and traditions of the Chinese Amazons, including things such as protecting the innocent and the helpless, never lie for selfish purposes, never fight using dirty tricks unless her opponents does so as well, an amazon must attempt to kill a woman who defeats her unless said woman is also an amazon, an Amazon must marry a man who defeats her in a fair, single combat, etc.) -Hatred/prejudice against men (-1; because of the teachings of the Amazons, Shampoo distrusts men and prefer the company of women for the most part, though her negative feelings towards them aren't as obvious as they are in Ranko. Of course, she understands her foster sister's viewpoint very well and respects it.) -Mild cruelty (-1; Shampoo may be beautiful and very friendly to those she likes, but for nearly anyone else, she couldn't care less what happened to them. Those who earn her respect and trust, her fellow amazons and her friends all get to see her better side, while whoever she does not know or doesn't care about could die for all she cares. Also, unless a person is one of the aforementionned respected and trusted person/fellow amazon/friend, Shampoo isn't afraid one bit to hurt their feelings by saying what she thinks of them.) It does not make a huge difference, but Shampoo almost always wears hers unless she has another activity in mind that requires her not to wear it.) -Chinese robe (carried in her backpack; she usually only wears this red robe on special occasions. It adds +1 to her Attractiveness modifier when worn) -A pair of Chuí (+3 weapons); Chinese melee weapons that consists of a large, solid metal sphere on the end of a medium-long handle. The favored weapons of the Chinese Amazons and the personal favorites of Shampoo, the amazon always uses those weapons in battle unless she absolutely must use something else. ) -Several small knives of various lengths and types (+1 to +2) -Backpack (in which she carries most of her things. It seems small, but it has many pockets and is really tough. And when one looks closely, it isn't that small at all.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STORY: The great-granddaughter of the Chinese Amazons' tribe's elder, Cologne, Shampoo was also the third best warrior of the tribe after a woman named Rose and Cologne herself. The girl served pretty much as Cologne's bodyguard, accompanying her whenever the elder had to leave the village, leaving its protection to Rose and her fellow warriors. During one such trip, Cologne and Shampoo came across the inert form of a young girl next to one of China's cursed springs, the Nyannichuan. Cologne, who had a vast knowledge of China and its secrets, knew of the spring and its powers, and guessed the young girl was probably not a girl in the forst place, but when she splashed hot water on the redhead, she did not revert to her true form... though she woke up, confused, unable to speak, and terrified. Cologne and Shampoo decided they couldn't just leave her there to die and brought her back to the village. Shampoo was given the task to nurse the girl back to health. She took care of her, and almost two weeks later, the redhead managed to speak and finally told them her story. She had been broken by her own father... but what was broken could be mended. With the help of Cologne, Shampoo kept taking care of the girl, helping her recover from her past ordeals, and slowly helping her build her self-esteem and will to live. After a few months, they had succeeded. "Ranko" was one of them, adopted by Cologne as Shampoo's "sister", an honor both girls were glad to be granted, for Ranko was a formidable warrior despite having not been raised among the amazons, and Shampoo was one of the best, and a family member of the Elder. Shampoo personally trained her new sister in the secrets arts of the Amazons, had her trained in the arts of a Hidden Weapon Master by Mousse, a male amazon of the village specialized in that technique, and she teached Ranko new martial arts known only by the amazons, effectively making her better and better. Eventually, Ranko made Shampoo proud by defeating the village's best warrior, Rose, in single combat through the use of her new amazon techniques, and earning that title for herself. Later, the two sisters went to participate in a great martial arts championship in Japan. Both girls did great in the championship, defeating opponent after opponent, but Shampoo was defeated before she got to the finals by a man named Hibiki Ryoga, Ranko's former rival and the foster son of her hated father (luckily, it was during a championship AND Ranko restored her honor by defeating Ryoga during the semi-finals, so the amazon didn't have to honor the laws of the amazons and marry him). Since then, she has accompanied Ranko in many adventures, although she usually prefers the more relaxed life of the village and her job as waitress at the village's Café.
