Iceman knelt to his unconscious teammate's side, creating a shield of ice between them and the robots should they break the first wall down; he doubted that Warren would get through such a fall unharmed. At the same time, dozens of thoughts crossed his mind. Thoughts of his parents, of the words they exchanged. He had spoken in all honesty, and he meant every word. The New Defenders, like the X-Men, were a team. Such was their strength. Now, a friend and fellow member was down, and the situation was not looking too good... "Well, dad", he thought silently, "seems like you were wrong. I won't be murdered by some crazy supervillain... I'll be murdered by some deadly super robots."

-Okay guys... what's "plan B"?, he asked, making sure that Warren was a) alive and b) able to be moved without finishing him off.

Angel, Moondragon and Valkyrie, K-Oed in less time it took to say "Holy cow". Things had went from bad to hopelessly worse in the blink of an eye... and a single blast had melted Bobby's ice barrier pretty much instantly, too. The young mutant just stood back up, his fists clenched, but finally realizing the battle was pretty much over... and he was on the losing side. And exhausted. Valkyrie and Moondragon were quite probably much stronger than him, and they were both down for the count. What else could he do...?

-...Okay, okay! So, you big metal baddies win, big time! Congrats! But hey, couldn't you guys at least tell me what is this all about? Why do you want that girl anyway? You could tell me, it's not like I could stop you, right?

In his mind, Drake reasoned that if the robots didn't get their hands on Cloud, so much the better. He was pretty sure he couldn't be the one to do it, though, so he hoped Beast would understand he was trying to buy him some time by drawing attention on him and away from her. Hopefully, they wouldn't simply put him down the way they had destroyed his ice barrier.

Since the other players have all disappeared, Iceman gets 1 LOE before putting the Defenders storyline on ice. This is only until I can recruit some more players. Cool?
