I think I've mentioned this elsewhere, but I think an iPad would work marvelously at the tabletop. Alternatively, so could a Nook (I've heard they can display pdf files).

I'm sure it'd be great. BUT... there isn't any chance in hell I'll be able to afford any of that, any time soon.

You can actually get a Nook for I think $140? Very reasonable, considering it'll get a lot of use away from the table, as well. You'd have to convert any character sheets to .pdf if you want to store them in the Nook, as well, but it's still doable.
Also, if you get the NetBook route, you can one for about $300. Granted, $300 is a lot to spend on just a gaming accessory, so if you don't really need a laptop, I'd recommend not going that route. NetBooks are a good option, though, if you want a laptop to work away from home, but plan to use your home PC for bigger projects.

We don't have $140... ;D

Wow, I have to say this looks awesome! I did not know about this and I usually have my nose in all of the RPG pies.
This is definitely on the to buy list.
Admittedly I have been on a mad scamble to get my paws on Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide for the Star Wars Saga Edition since WOTC did not renew their license with Lucas Ltd. Which I still don't have...Grrrrr

I do have to say Green Ronin does make some good products.

I do have to say Green Ronin does make some good products. Green Ronin is probably one of the best "indie" publishers, but they have gotten a rep for being a bit unprofessional at times (in how they deal with both employees and licensers), and their products are rarely ever out on time. I know that Time Warner is a big stickler for meeting "street dates" on published products (I used to work with them), so I wouldn't be surprised if they made GR give them some kind of insurance that the DC game would release on time. Part of the reason they pulled WEG's license for DC Universe was tardiness of product.

D6, IMO, was an awesome system with one major flaw, and one fatal flaw.
The major flaw was one shared by all systems that have you rolling more dice the better you are at something... it becomes a chore to accomplish even the simplest tasks.
"I roll by giant bucket of dice..."
The fatal flaw was the damage soak system. In Star Wars, it was absolutely absurd. A strong human being in a blast vest had an even chance of taking NO damage after being shot point blank range with a heavy blaster pistol or a blaster rifle. A wookie in the same blast vest could generally shrug off full automatic fire from a frackin' E-Web rifle. That's just stupid.
Once power gamers get a hold of any D6 game, it stops being worth playing. We had a guy in one game who played Noghri (5D+2 Str) in some kind of crazy powered armor (actually published by WEG) that gave like +4D to soak. Weapons meant to destroy hover tanks had a hard time phasing this guy.
