You know I was actually somewhat interested in the movie with this new trailer but then they lost me with that robot.

I think people are linking things to the Ultimate Marvel, because Nick Fury is black. He's only black in the Ultimate Universe. So, they see these new Marvel movies as Ultimate based.

Fury was essentially Samuel L Jackson in Ultimate X-Men- oh look... who plays him?

Fury was intentionally modeled after Sam Jackson in the Ultimates 'verse, and in fact there was an issue of Ultimates where he said something to the effect that if they made a movie, Samuel L Jackson would play him. That being said... so far none of these movies have shared ANY important similarities to the Ultimates Universe, from character origins to the actual adventures. If they're being modeled after the Ultimates, the movie writers are doing a terrible job of it. What I propose is that these movies are actually a third, completely separate Marvel reality, which is much less interesting and more poorly thought out than either of the others.

I've just seen a still from the Cap movie- it shares one awful similarity, that god-awful chin-strap Ultimate Captain Dork (errr I mean America) has...

I actually kind of like the chin strap.
And Captain America, obviously. Captain Dork is that Canadian goob-wad. I know he doesn't have Captain in his hero name, but he's clearly analagous to Captain's America and Britain.
Speaking of which; Marvel clearly hates America, but it seems like they hate Canada even more. Sure they let Canada have Wolverine, but every other Canadian hero is a total spank and/or a-hole. What's the deal with that???

He doesn't look cool, he looks like he's in safety patrol!
Errr Canada has Northstar who struggles with both being Canadian and gay... and well Ultimate Canada got Jubilee and Rhane Sinclair, somebody must love them.

LOL
So being Canadian is on par with being gay as far as social awkwardness goes? That's good to know. I wonder if TWF is aware of this ;D
I've never been a fan of Norhtstar (neither because he's Canadian or because he's gay... I just have always seen him as kind of a Quicksilver knockoff), but yeah I guess he's alright-ish. I liked his Ultimate version better though.
<Edit> ALSO... I never said the chinstrap was "cool." I like it because it fits with the idea that his mask is a helmet (which it sometimes is drawn as, and sometimes not). Wearing a helmet without a chinstrap is kind of awkward.

Only according to you Americans, we prefer the Canadians- they knew when they had a good thing.
But no, Cap with a chin strap looks like a dorky kid who's about to take his first ride on a bike!

To say that someone struggles with both being gay and Canadian is not to suggest that the two struggles are on par, WK.
But yeah, in comics, most foreign characters (not just limited to Canada) are embarrassingly stereotypical. Japanese character? Samurai motif, please. Canadian guy? Uhm, something about animals that like the cold or the northern lights or just put a big friggin' red maple leaf on a guy - who knows, who cares. Russian? Make him turn into a bear. This sh*t writes itself!
