Thats because it doesn't lead anywhere. He is saying that Nick Fury is only Black in the Ultimate Universe... so a lot of people think the new movies are in the Ultimate universe. But it just so happens that they chose the best actor for the part... who happens to be black and that it is coincidental (sort of) that the Nick Fury in the Ultimates is also black.

To say that someone struggles with both being gay and Canadian is not to suggest that the two struggles are on par, WK. ~TWF *facepalm* It was a JOKE dude. C'mon. Live a little. I never know with you sometimes. ^___^ I had also just gotten out of an intensely boring conversation and I think the fun region of my brain had fallen asleep. ~TWF

Yeah, not allot of people get that Nick Fury is a brotha in the movie verse as well as the ultimate verse. I mainly thought they were more based more off of the ultimate verse for a couple of reasons. As far as "best actor for the part," goes. I'm a Samuel L. Jackson fan, but he's not really like Nick Fury in the comics, or the cartoons. Him being the best for this role is debatable, but he's a far better choice than David Haslehoff was. You know, because Samuel L. Jackson's the one with the Motha F*ck'n gun. He should have stayed away from "Snakes on a Plane," though, because that movie sucked. Timeline, because the ultimate comics are in a more recent timeline, rather than the 70's or something. We've seen an attempt at something like this in the "Heroes reborn timeline," but that one flopped very quickly. Also, people seem to die more in the movie verse than the regular marvel verse. That's also more like the Ultimate Verse. They aren't a panel by panel remake of the comics, but they are defiantly more inspired by the Ultimate Verse than the normal verse. I translate the movieverse to it's own verse, but it relates more to the ultimate comics than any other verse I can think of.

It's real easy to follow my logic, Kanzu.
Even in the Ultimate's Comic book they make the statement about Samuel Jackson playing Nick Fury in the movies.
Now, Samuel Jackson is playing Nick Fury in the Movies.
So, it's easy for people to link the current movies to the Ultimate Marvel Universe.
Not hard to follow that train of logic, but I apologize if it wasn't typed out clearly.

Yeah, I think the logic of the statement was pretty clear. I understand the kneejerk reaction to sputter and get bent out of shape anytime someone says "its because he's black"... but sometimes, it really is because he's black.
At any rate, I don't think these movies are remotely based on the Ultimates 'verse in any way, shape, or form. The only resemblance that they bear, so far, is Samuel L. Fury. The origin stories, additional main characters, etc. have all been drawn from the comics or created wholecloth (like the movie version of Abomination). Nothing has been drawn from the Ultimates comics whatsoever.

You know I was actually somewhat interested in the movie with this new trailer but then they lost me with that robot. 'That' robot? What do you mean that robot? You mean Destroyer? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destroyer_(Thor) A well known Thor part? A major item used by Loki several times in the past 45 years since it's creation? That's likely older then you? Why the Thor villain, that is used by Loki that is also in the movie loose you?

I had a feeling its some sort of Asgardian battle armor and Loki is probably using it, but wasnt sure (and really- its a big robot fighting Thor- thats cool enough not to care). Thanks for info though.

A robot that can't be destroyed. No matter what you do. You have to beat up the body of the person who is controling it. The thing about the Destroyer is that the armor and the mind of anyone who controls it are linked together. That info is just for anyone who is too lazy to click on the link lulu put.

I'm a pretty casual Thor fan, and even I recognized The Destroyer. I actually think that the Destroyer is a pretty awesome "character"

I don't really read Thor and even I recongnized it. Okay, it was mostly because of Marvel Ultimate Aliance. The Destroyer Armor was one of the bosses you had to fight.

That info is just for anyone who is too lazy to click on the link lulu put. I put the link up. Lulu doesn't want to see the movie based on the fact that Thor will be facing a Thor villain in it, simply cause it looks like a robot. Really boggles my mind. Be like watching the Dark Knight trailer and refusing to see it because there is a clown in it. Or watching the Spiderman 2 trailer and refusing to see it because there is a guy with four robot arms in it. Or watching a Punisher trailer and refusing to watch it because the guy kills people. Or watching Ghost Rider, and refusing to watch it because the guy rides a bike.

It does kind of look like a robot, but c'mon... there are much better reasons to hate this movie than that.

Somehow got you two mixed up! My bad. And I will watch Thor, simply because I love comic book movies. It will probably be bad but I will get enough action and enough understanding for when the Avengers movie comes out to say it was barely worth it.

Okay sorry. But i never read any of the Thor comics. Never really been a fan of Marvel. But anyway it looked like a giant robot. Now that I know its not a giant robot or its not suppose to be a giant robot then I wont be hating on it although I probably wont want to go see it. Looking forward to only 2 movies and hats the Alien Prequel and The Thing Prequel. Movies based off of comics have a 50/50 chance of being decent. Thor, batman, and the xmen all have that chance. I'll be surprised if the movie turns out good. Whether it be based of the Ultimate Universe or not.

Oh, I'm totally with you there. I expect this movie to suck hardcore. I'm just sayin'... even if Thor WAS fighting a giant robot, it's not that big of a deal. Super heroes fight giant robots. It's in their job description.
There are plenty of reasons to look at that trailer and go "eh, no thanks" LOL
