Who is KGBeast? Was that the guy that Batman killed, thus setting him on a rampage against all criminals? KGBeast was a cold war era Batman villain (the KGB was the Russian equivalent of the CIA, and KGBeast was a Russian superspy, almost a forerunner to Bane in some ways). At the end of one of their extended battles, Batman left KGBeast locked away in a vault where no one would ever find him. It wasn't established until later that Batman had "called the police to tell them where KGBeast was."

Superman killed Zod because he knew he could not be contained. Wonder Woman killed Maxwell Lord because he had control of the government. Hm. I see. I guess they're trying to make Batman more moral than any other hero and it backfired. I think the Red Hood/Jason Todd cartoon (didn't read the comics) touched on how Batman would pretty much lose it if he crossed the line... but it wasn't very convincing, the whole slippery slope thing. A parallel world doesn't quite do it either. Perhaps a bit of reality, where Batman does kill Joker, and it undoes him a bit and everyone has to bring him back? Could be interesting. That'd be crazy if that's the story Bruce Timm was writing.
