Captain Britain"You're right!" muttered the Captain. "These 'Skrulls' seem to be masters of deception! Perhaps it isn't as powerful as it seems!""I'm going back in!" he declares. "Have you an oxygen mask or breathing equipment I can use? My force field will protect me from the cold and vacuum." 'I hope' he thinks. If the Kree are able to supply something he can use, the Captain will bravely go back inside, tell them to close the door behind him and wade in to the 'Super Skrull' - if that's what it was! Right now he wasn't sure whether he could believe his eyes or not! He glanced down at his fists. Maybe best to believe in them! ACTIONSGet an oxygen mask, go into the control room and have it out with the Super Skrull!

"Here," Kree #2 says handing Captain Britain a Kree helmet. Captain BritainWith a heartbeats hesitation, Captain Britain looks at the helmet, then nods and places it over his own...OOC And if it tries to fry his brain, or mind control him, or anything nasty, get the darn thing whipped off pronto. If not, and there seems to be no obvious ill effect, he'll go back in, pop his knuckles, roll his neck and fly over to start smacking the Super Skrull about! Hopefully.ACTIONSPut the helmet on. If all ok... get back in there and... Hit, Hit, Hit, hit, punch, punch, headbutt, kick, knee, punch, hit, hit, hit.

After Captain Britain dons the helmet, the Kree reopen the airlock doors to the Control Room. The Super Skrull appears to have just finished the hull when... Captain Britain's Blunt Attack roll: 6vxXnYi61-100...Captain Britain barrels in and comes close to hitting Chrell, but misses. "Mar-vell?"The skrull then counters with an orange rocky-fisted punch of his own! Chrell's Blunt Attack roll: 1-100Fortunately for Captain Britain, the Super Skull's blow misses its mark as well. "No, it is you, Captain Britain, bit in a Kree helmet. How fitting, as I plan to also destroy Earth and the Kree with one well calculated strike!" Brian continues to hit, hit, hit, punch, punch, headbutt, kick, knee, punch, hit, hit, hit... Captain Britain's Blunt Attack roll: 1-100Brian contacts with the skrull's rocky and rubbery form. The skrull suffers 10 Health damage, but now it is Chrell's turn to fight back. Captain Britain'What?' thinks the CaptainHis mind racing, he considers what the Super Skrull just said. 'He thought I was Captain Mar-Vell, the ORIGINAL. But he saw through it? Is this helmet some kind of illusion transmitter? Does he wear one the same? What if the enemy in front of me is tricking my mind into seeing - and feeling - something false? These Skrulls ARE masters of deception after all...' 'One thing's for sure, if I stand here trading punches I will lose - again! Maybe my mind is the best weapon here...' With that the Captain turns his considerable will to the thought that he can't trust his eyes... "You're not a super-skrull!" he exclaims! "What are you? Probably some low level minion with delusions of grandeur, eh?" ACTIONSTry to disbelieve (Psyche Feat?) what his eyes/brain might otherwise tell him. Use karma. If possible take defensive action (I can't remember if he's better off blocking, evading or dodging, whichever is best I guess).

Captain Britain"Now that the Kree know of your true nature, you must know your game is up!" snarled the Captain, desparate.Seemingly outmatched, he was nonetheless unwilling to surrender! He tried to escape the grasp of the Skrull, all the while gritting teeth and trying to convince himself that he couldn't believe his eyes, that this alien wasn't what he seemed, and that he really wasn't in the most futile fight of his life! "Nnngh. F... Flame on?" splutters the Captain."And if you don't surrender, it'll be Clobberin' Time!" he adds. The world famous Fantastic Four were well known even in Britain. CB couldn't remember having met them, but figured had he hung around New York long enough in his initial guise/meeting with Spiderman he'd have encountered them. He has no idea what's going on, but this is the first glimmer of hope he's had since been battered senseless by whatever it was stood in front of him! He does his best to dodge/evade from the room and get back into the other section. If he can make it he cries out to the Kree "I need a hand here chaps! Haven't you got ANYTHING you can do to help me take this clown out? In case you hadn't noticed, I'm getting my arse kicked!" ACTIONSTry and get out of there. One hit and he's done. Plus he nearly died, has no karma left, the dice hate me and ... and... Strewth. Need something from the Kree. The airlock door opens to reveal... "Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman!" ...two K.I.S.S. warriors. One of them is holding some kind of apparatus. "Come quickly, before Kay-tell realizes what we're doing," urges Kree #2. You can't see his face, for he wears a helmet, but the voice is the same as the Kree who was most helpful earlier. Captain Britain stifles a curse, but wastes no time in getting through the airlock and turning to make sure it's sealed behind him.Rubbing an aching jaw and feeling decidedly world weary, he looks at the other members of the Fantastic Four and sighs "I suppose after all this time nothing should ever surprise me. I mean I've been killed, encountered magical forces in other dimensions, been driven to the edge of madness, twice, and generally fight the nuttiest fruitcakes going. Mine make Spidermans look positively conventional, well dressed and well behaved." "So, please explain, chaps. What the bloody hell is going on? Why do we all look like someone else, and more importantly, how can we use it against that nut case in there? I desperately want to put him out for the count, but it feels like I'm outmatched at every turn. Nott too proud to ask for a hand, so how about it?" WOOSH"It is the AugMENT device," says Kree #2 after the first of four airlock doors close, sealing the skrull inside the Control Room. WOOSHafter the second airlock shuts, Kree #2 shows Britain the familiar-looking machine in his possession. There was one of these in the landing craft. "AugMENT has two effects. First, it penetrates the subconscious mind, drawing an amplified sense of terror."WOOSH"Victims will see, hear and feel something which is a hundred times more powerful than any actual attack. The second effect is a powerful imprint on memory."WOOSHThe last airlock door closes after Captain Britain and the two Kree pass through it. "No mater what actually occurs afterwards, victims of the AugMENT device will remain convinced of whatever it was they thought they saw. The memory will be confused and imprecise, but the effect is inescapable..."A third Kree approaches and interrupts, "Speaking of escapes...Kay-tell is trying to escape in the Command Centre!"Name | F | A | S | E | R | I | P | Health | Karma | Powers | Captain Britain | Rema | Rema | Incr | Rema | Exce | Rema | Exce | 19/130 | 7 | Flight, Force Field |

"Can you set this thing up to work for me against that Skrull?" the Captain asks."It seems to have had some effect already - the Fantastic Four I heard mention of. There must be some way to... jury rig it to override the effects on me, perhaps? That explains the foes I've been facing, including one I'd not seen for years! So that... those pastings I took... were all in my head? Does that mean the damage that was... no time for that. Quick! What can we do to use this thing to our advantage?" ACTIONSProbably a long shot, but try... I dunno. Reason FEAT to jury-rig it to block or reverse the previous effects on CB, so he can go in there and fight a Skrull, little green man as opposed to Super Skrull? Worth a shot. If not, he will ask the Kree what can be done to stop or hamper the Command Centre - the Skrull CANNOT be allowed to escape, he figures. It's a a matter of keeping interstellar peace...Any weapons on the rest of the ship to shoot at an escaping Command Centre pod, to cripple rather than destroy?Name | F | A | S | E | R | I | P | Health | Karma | Powers | Captain Britain | Rema | Rema | Incr | Rema | Exce | Rema | Exce | 19/130 | 7 | Flight, Force Field |

Only Kay-tell is not wearing one."Reason FEAT: l7TCkAj31-100With the AugMENT activated, the Super-Skrull thinks the battle is utterly hopeless and is trying to escape in the Command Centre. Captain BritainSucking up a deep breath, rolling and cricking his neck, CB turns to the Kree. "Right, let me in again." He pops his knuckles. "Time to give that spy a bloody good thrashing!" Captain Britain planned to get in there, declare that the Fantastic Four were here to bring him to justice, and that his best bet was to give up... but that the ever lovin' Thing was hopin' that he wouldn't take up the offer!
