It looked like he photographer had been saved from the collapsing building by a flash of light... Which could only be one person... But what happened to them? Captain America header over toward Schweiger's Furs store to see if they where still alive... "MARVEL!! Are you two all right?"

Ben was unsure what else they could do to bring this thing down.

"I'm alright, just a bit bruised, thanks to you." The man answers Captain Marvel. "Without your help the name Lance Bannon might have been in tomorrow's Daily Bugle obituarys. Instead, it'll be on the front page, where it belongs."

"MARVEL!! Are you two all right?" Captain America's voice can be heard from three stories below.


Meanwhile...

Ben Grimm spots a construction sight one block ahead of the Octodroid. The Thing has rewired the Baxter Building enough times to know how to access a live wire at a worksite's foundation. His only problem is getting there in time before the giant robot does.

BRATTA-TATTA-RATTA-BRATTA-TATTTA-RATTA

The chopper flies through the area, strafing the Octodroid.

"This is the voice of Doctor Octopus," the monsterous machine repeats in the sneering voice of Doctor Octopus. "This city is doomed! I shall crack it open like an egg. If I am not made the ultimate ruler of the United States, my Octodroid will march on Washington D.C.!"

"Sure thing Marvel... But don't take to long, i don't think me and Thing will be able to stop it by ourselves".
Captain America moves out... They had to stop the monstrosity somehow, but at the moment, none of them seemed able to stop it... When he sees the metal monster, he moves away from the building Captain Marvel is in and releases his shield, sending it toward the robot, aiming for one of its tentacles...

*Ben looks for any shortcut that may get him ahead of the robot. Either way it is time for Ben to do a full sprint in hopes of getting to the wires that might be able to stop this terror.*

The Octodroid attempts to grab the chopper with it's human hands.

ZING!!

Captain America's shield knock's one of the robots tentacles between the machine's hands and the attack helicopter.

BRATTA-TATTA-RATTA-BRATTA-TATTTA-RATTA

The chopper swoops out of the way, but continues attacking the Octodroid. Amidst the chaos Captain America has to perform some amazing feats of acrobatics to avoid the friendly fire.

The Thing runs past the battle toward the build site. Ben Grimm's baby blues then spot this sight for sore eyes.



Captain Marvel waits to make sure Lance's machismo and nose for news doesn't lead him into any more trouble, before deciding what to do next.

*Ben sighs with relief. He now only has to pull the cable from the ground and across the road so as to cause the robot to walk right into the wire.

Now if only the chopper can keep the robot busy while Ben arranges the trap. *

1 Stone to pull the wire from the ground, stretching it in several spaced out strands across the road. Making sure that the casing protecting the wire is exposed enough to make contact with the metal of the robot. But also being careful not to touch the exposed wire.

Captain Marvel needs to rest more, but slowly tries to make her way back outside.

After the tentacle was hit, the tentacle moved in the way of the robot trying to grab the copter. Clearer?

The giant robot turns to fire a blast of energy at Captain America, which is safely deflected off the patriot's shield.

At least Captain America's distraction has bought the Thing a little time. He needs it. So far he's only had enough time to dig up enough dirt to catch a glimpse of the electrical cable below. This is going to take a lot longer than the Thing originally estimated.

Up the street, Captain Marvel finds the stairwell and climbs down from the 3rd floor of the fur store.
