Cap still wanted to gather his strength... But it seemed like he would have to keep attacking the robot from time to time to keep it from attacking other people... However, he could only hope for that...

Captain Marvel slowly approaches the giant robot and comes up behind Captain America, who is all but forgotten by the mechanical monstrosity.

The helicopter's guns aren't enough to hurt the Octodroid, but it still grabs the chopper with its hands. Meanwhile the destructive robot continues to smash nearby buildings. soon it will be upon the construction site, where the thing has finally gotten hold of the high voltage wires beneath the site's foundation.

Captain America spotted thing trying to pull something out of the ground... It looked like... A wire?? Whatever Thing was doing, he looked like he had a plan of some sort... But it looked like he was trying to drag it across the street... Across... "THING, im not sure what you're doing, but i sure hope it works..."
But before any deeper thoughts could be done, the robot grabbed the chopper... "Marvel, move away from me, im gona trie and get the robot to drop the chopper and i'm not sure if it will attack me... But if it does, i don't want you be to close to me..."

Crystal's Department Store prides itself on it's front window displays. These are now total shambles, because the Octodroid's four robotic tentacles have torn the store apart. Mannequins and all.
POP!
Captain America's well placed shield throw causes the giant robot to let go of the military helicopter in it's grasp.
WHUp WHup Whup whup whu.. wh.... w......
The chopper's blade slows and the vehicle tilts to the side. It's going down!
The Thing finishes pulling a wire conduit to the sidewalk between the construction zone and the street, square between a light post and fire hydrant. But now he sees the copter headed down toward some town homes and condominiums on the other side of the street!
Captain America and Captain Marvel are a block away from the thing, down the street by the Keash Mall. Captain America's shield has not yet returned to him... but the Octodroid's gaze has!
It broadcasts this message, "This is the voice of Doctor Octopus..." [O.K., I'll spare you the entire message this time.]

"Sure thing Marvel... But one thing at a time..." Since the Shield hadn't returned, Captain America was left rather defenseless... So either he would stand his ground and catch the shield and risk getting further hurt, or get some cover from the robot and hope he could get the shield later... He hoped he could get the shield later... The whole team was battered and worn, so risking further wounds would surely make things worse... So Captain America headed for some nearby cover...

*Ben saw the heli falling. If it hit those homes it could harm alot of people.
The wire looked to be good. He just hoped the metal can would conduct the electricity from the wires.
Ben turned towards the heli now, he hoped he could reach it in time as he ran towards it. Hopefully he could get under the heli and catch it. Hopefully. Ben was pretty weak and not sure, but he would die trying at least. *

After hearing Captain Marvel's plea for access to the Octodroid's possible Achilles feet, Captain America finds shelter behind the street-level overhang of a subway entrance. (The mode of underground transportation... not the chain of fast-food hoagie restaurants.)
The Octodroid is now upon the construction zone, but the Thing is too busy rescuing the U.S. military to notice if it stepped on the wire he laid in it's way or not. The copter came down hard, but Ben Grimm had walked away from worse landings even before he had a hide of super-strong orange rocks. However, the fuel tanks have been damaged, and without help the brave men inside the whirlybird may still perish!

The octodroid disent seem to attack him, even if it looked like it had targeted him... But he had to get to his shield, and maybe the nice trap The Thing had made could expose the hatch beneath the robots foot...
