"Well, hello there tall, dark and ugly," quipped the ever-ready Spider-man. "Don't they say the bigger they are, the harder they fall?" A line of super sticky web substance shot out towards one of the brannigans. When it made contact Spider-man yanked hard hopping to topple one of the strange creatures.

"Just sign here and you can be on your way, Ms. Rambeau!" Mr. Hillbee answers. Outside the bank, Monica Rambeau dashes across the street to make an important call-- Janet Van Dyne and Wanda Maximoff just received a call relayed from the Pegasus Project. Captain Marvel, the Scarlet Witch and the Wasp are needed to back Captain America and the others. Jan and Wanda are in transit now. The Wasp steers the Quinjet, while the Scarlet Witch radioes Captain Marvel to ask her to join them. -Speaking of ugly, this is exactly what things are about to become... can we even hold off against such numbers of monsters?
Going into battle as Cap had taught him, Starfox focused on one opponent at a time while defending as well as he could against the others.
-This battle's report will be kept inside the "Close Calls" folder!
Facing one of the monsters, he threw an Eternal-powered jaw-crushing punch at it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Start H: 4/4 E: 12/12
8 stones into Close Combat (Trained by Captain America) to punch one of the abominations;
3 stones into Agility shifted to defense.

"We're already on the way. Meet you there." Wanda said, trying to hide the concern in her voice as she closed the communication and kept her eyes peeled as Janet piloted, ready to aid at a moments notice.

Now that Captain America has a good look at these brannigans, he recognizes them as a band of Lava Men![OOC: Cap fought Lava Men way back in Avengers #5!] C.A.'s shield takes down one of their number, just after as Spidey trips his buddy. Starfox and She-Hulk then learn that the Lava Men are hot to handle as they knock another couple of them out cold. Four are down, but are there forty or four-hundred left to go? As the fight goes on, Eros looks around, a bit desperate. He parries and dodges out of the way of several blows, give some back, but...
-This is... getting a bit out of hands! Cap, She-Hulk... no way we can take that many! I think it'd be good to find some plan, huh?
Hoping for a positive answer, Starfox fights defensively, trying to keep at least some of the Lava Men away from his more combat-capable friends. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Start H: 4/4 E: 7/12
3 stones into Close Combat shifted into Defense as he tries to keep opponents away from Cap, She-Hulk and Spider-Man, as well as stay alive himself.

The Wasp is able to provide coordinates to Captain Marvel, but she doesn't know where the newest member of the Avengers is radioing in from. For all she knows, Captain Marvel could be as far away as New Orleans!
Well, Monica Rambeau is in New Orleans and turns invisible in order to pick up her costume before flying to Project Pegasus. She arrives just in time to hear the security team give the Wasp and the Scarlet Witch the following report. (And you thought Wanda's brother Pietro was fast!)
"Yes, Ms. Van Dyne. We received word from Level F that your teammates were on the trail of some underground army that was headed toward the Nuke Dome."

While staying away from the bad guys, Spider-man decided to do a quick head count. "This little lavaman went to market, this lavaman stayed home. I think there are..." Spider-man flipped out of the way quickly as one of the lavamen took a swing at him. "How rude. Didn't your momma teach you not to interrupt?"
=============== H 4/4 E 12/12
Action 1: 3 Int to count the lavamen/brannigans. And counting should not be as hard as rocket science... even if my character is smart enough to do that too. Action 2: 3 stones in acrobatics to just stay away/avoid the lavamen for now.

There were too many to fight directly, at least without some kind of broad attack. Swinging his arm back, he let fly the shield once more...
Any ideas people?
