Storm nodded. "Yes, let's go." She moved with the group, keeping her eyes cast around, looking for the Phoenix. There were plenty of places to hide, but she had a feeling hiding wasn't what she was really after.

After Rogue pulls him out of the quicksand, Nightcrawler spots Jean running into a field of flowers. 'Phoenix can fly,' Kurt's brain tells him. 'Why does she remain on the ground?!'

So what if she ain't flyin' even though she can? ...You can teleport, and you still walk and run and jump about sometimes. Why won't she face us, even though she has more than enough power to take us down? Why play around with us? Kurt, I think you may be right. But let's see for sure." Storm said, and took to the air with Rogue.

The Danger Room's illusions work against the X-Men. The distance between Rogue and Phoenix is barely a dozen yards, yet it seems like miles. So when a wind rises behind Jean, she turns and fires past Rogue... hitting Storm! Stunned, Ororo begins to fall from the sky. And only if Rogue is the evil mutant some still believe her t' be, will she let Storm go splat all over the floor! Nightcrawler's Health: 1/3

(OOC: Dangit... so much for my recovery, but I don't want to mess this up.  ) Rogue-...!!Taken by surprise by this unexpected (at least for her) turn of events, Rogue frowns angrily as she changes her trajectory in an attempt to save Storm before she... gets worse than she may already be. Flying as fast as she can, she does everything she can to catch her teammate. Maybe she still had more sins to atone for, and more redemption to work towards... but the X-Men had given her a chance to do just that. And she would not let them down. Rogue catches Storm just in the nick of time! The ground here is filled with pretty red poppies. FWOOF!A wide angle shot from Phoenix fills the air with "Oz-poppy" dust. These "Wizard of Oz" poppies bypass Rogue's natural invulnerability--One whiff of dust and she's fast asleep. [glow=red,2,300] BAMF[/glow] Nightcrawler sucker-punches Dark Phoenix from behind, knocking her to the ground. Rogue successfully saved Storm from a rather nasty fall... but realizes only too late that something is wrong with the flowers at her feet. For when Phoenix kicks up a cloud of dust from the flowers, she quickly falls under its effects... and into unconsciousness.
-Uhhnnn...
Last thing she sees before blanking out is a bunch of flowers, and the unconscious form of Storm in front of her.

Phoenix carries Rogue into a cave, and walks to a keypad that is visible to Nightcrawler at the end of a short tunnel.
[glow=yellow,2,300]"I'll give Rogue Xavier's psi-powers," [/glow]Phoenix says entering a combination on the keypad. [glow=yellow,2,300]"I'll open my mind to her. Let her touch your thoughts as well. You'll see the truth."[/glow]
Phoenix then exits the Danger Room, with Rogue slumped over one shoulder.

[The door is open for Nightcrawler to exit the Danger Room if he wishes.]
