She was indeed the weakest link of Red 2, but her scenes even if a bit overkill still worked for me. Still, PacRim was the big movie of yesterday, I enjoyed it like a madman, it has moments that called to my not so inner child. Lately I'm finding more and more moments of those kind in recent movies and I'm loving it (certain Hobbit moments, the takeoff of the Helicarrier in Avengers, several "Sam Raimi" moments in Oz...)

Forgot to mention: I'm probably checking out Wolverine this week at some point. Some friends enjoyed it, and I guess the rest of us want to go now.

Caught the new Percy Jackson flick with my wife last weekend.
Having not read the books, I was sufficiently entertained. A fitting sequel to what I remember of the first one.
My wife on the other hand, objects to so many seemingly "pointless" (her words) changes from the book. "They made changes for the sake of making changes, that offered nothing, but were significant deviations from the book."

Gonna see Kick Ass 2 tomorrow. The trailer looks entertaining.

Quite enjoyed the first, reviews suggest the second is... well, a bit crap. Not read the comics but will probably catch number 2 at home (which, according to Box Office Mojo, is what most people did and that made the numbers add up for a sequel, as the first didn't set the box office on fire.)
Jim Carrey has been a bit weird with regards his part in the movie, distancing himself. Whether that helps or hinders (or makes no difference) to the Box office I guess we'll have to see.

Jim Carey is partially responsible for thousands of children dying because he helped campaign against vaccinations, so his opinion on movie violence is pretty meaningless to me.
Connection between movie violence and dead kids; nebulous at best. Connection between kids not getting vaccinated and dead kids; pretty obvious.

So, anyone else planning on killing Ben Affleck before they start shooting Batman vs. Superman (or whatever)?

Oh crikey, for a second I thought he was going to play Supes. At least he's just Batman.
My first reaction was "Go home, DC, you're drunk." But I loved Ledger's Joker and really liked Hathaway's Catwoman, so I'm keeping my mouth shut.

I was skeptical about Ledger but was intrigued by some of the darker material so I felt cautiously optimistic, and I secretly want to marry really like Anne Hathaway so I was pumped to see her do Catwoman, but Affleck... he could potentially be a good Bruce Wayne, but I don't see him being able to bring the right take to Batman.

I think that he's a good pick. While there were many things wrong with Daredevil, he was actually pretty good. I think he can play the Caped Crusader at least well enough to not be terrible and will be a nice contrast to Christian Bale.

"Go home, DC, you're drunk." At least for now. Not that the choice is going to scare me from going to see the movie, but... doesn't feel right.
