[/SIZE][/u] =================== (BRIEF)BIO/HISTORY:Originally a Maia spirit of Yavanna called Aiwendil, He was chosen as one of the Istari who came to Middle-earth. As with each of the Istari, he was given a personal assignment in addition to the reason for which they were dispatched to Middle-Earth. Radagast's assignment was to be a guardian of the Natural World. All Flora, Fauna, and Animals were his to care for and protect. Should the worst come to pass, and Sauron reign victorious, it would fall to Radagast to protect and preserve as much of the Natural as possible under such a dark reign. Unlike his kindred, Radagast chose to put this calling above all else. He moved into a life of seclusion on the western eves of Mirkwood. There he created a Wildlife Refuge, called Rhosgobel. A sanctuary for endangered animal and plants from around Middle-Earth. Rarely did he ever venture forth from his home, save at behest of Gandalf and Saruman, or in favor to one of his many friends within the Animal Kingdom. The Brown Wizards Hermetic ways, and stand-off stance of non-involvement did not gain him points with those who had thought they might depend upon him. On more than one occasion he was manipulated by Saruman into being unavailable to Gandalf in times of need. A guilty conscience and sense of conflicting interests made him as putty in the hands of Saruman, who made no secret of his low oppinion of Radagast. It was not until his refuge and sanctuary was burned to the ground, his dependents slain and his lifes work destroyed, that Radagast finally came to realize he could not ignore his obligations to The World of Man any longer. AoA Dark Riders Proposals... [/SIZE][/u] =================== (BRIEF)BIO/HISTORY:A petty thief, Parker Robbins broke into a warehouse with his cousin one night. Much to the surprise of the duo, the warehouse was not uninhabited. The demonic entity within, while starved and wounded, attempted to lay the would-be-thieves. Parker's cousin fled, leaving him alone to face the creature. Stubborn, and unwilling to leave empty handed, Parker stayed. Despite a grievious claw to his face (which left a wicked scar), Parker managed to slay the creature by strangeling it with a nearby chain. As trophy's of his victory, Parker took the creature's cloak. As he donned the mystical garment it whispered a single word into his mind: NISANTI. It would be a week before Parker would reveal to his cousin, and their small gang, that he'd survived the encounter. Further, he demonstrated the ability to vanish at will... the seedlings of his Legend were created. Word spread. Parker began to enjoy a power that even money couldn't buy. Fear, Awe, Respect. Within months, Robbins found himself the head of one of the countries largest criminal organizations and answering to the moniker: The Hood. Not long after, Parker developed an ability to sense Magical Artifacts... and they became primary items of acquisition. No money, or risk, was spared in the procurement of such things. It was his avid collecting that lead him to infiltrate a house in Greenwich Village, unbeknowns to him at the time~ The Sanctum of the worlds Sorcerer Supreme. Strange recognized the Nisanti Cloak for what it was immediately, and subdued the young thief without much seeming effort at all. Held tight within Crimson Bands of Cyttorak, Parker was held imprisoned for nearly a week. Then came news, and a proposition. Steven told Parker about Mutants, but Parker surprised the Doctor with his own knowledge of such things. He had more than a few working for him already. The Sorcerer Supreme countered with new knowledge~ An ancient mutant, older than recorded history, has begun launching a genocidal war against humanity... and for all the portents, it looked as though his victory was assured. Curious, Parker asked Steven why he cared... or why he was bothering to tell him this at all. Steven went on to inform Parker that his Duty as the Sorcerer Supreme forbade him from directly entering this conflict... but his heart weighed heavy with this. So, instead he offered to take Parker as his apprentice... and train him to act upon his behalf. A Mystical Champion for Humanity. Unable to resist the promise of power, Parker agreed. His training began at once. Together, the pair fended off more than one seemingly impossible assault on the invisible Sanctum. Parker was encouraged to venture forth at night as a Vigilante, to do his best to help the innocent. As one might expect, Parker found the arrangement suitable for a time. Until he noticed his Master holding back. Keeping secrets, knowledge, and spells to himself. Further, as the world began to succumb to Apocalypse's regiem, Parker began to doubt their ability to ever fight back the tide; Especially if Steven remained unwilling to step up. So he did what seemed natural. He made a deal with the enemy. The Shadow King was a scary being, well was it known that he now ruled the Astral Plane with near impunity. Few if any beings dared risk his domain any more. Strange had forbidden his apprentice from even trying to enter that place. So, in this time of treason, that is precisely where he went. It was with the Shadow King that Parker struck his accord. Just as The Shadow King was granted sole stewardship over the psychic realms by Apocalypse, Parker would be Apocalypse's Arcane Agent~ It would fall to him to police, sieze, and take care of any metaphysical threats to Apocalypse's sovereignty. His abilities would likewise be put to whatever use the Highlord so desired, when he desired them, without question. In exchange? Survival. His first assignment? Assist the Shadow King in destroying the describedly meddlesome sorcerer. Parker didn't question the description, but did as bidden. As the Shadow King launched an assault of unprecidented tenasity against Strange's mind, the Sorcerer Supreme lapsed into deep meditation... trusting in his Apprentice to safeguard his body. Thus, there was nothing stopping Parker from using his stolen Hellfire Shotgun to incinerate the defensless and empty vessel. Trapped in the Astral, and severed from his body, it would only be a matter of time before the old man would die... IF the Shadow King didn't kill him first. Much to his surprise, Parker found himself in near earthquake conditions. Steven's death seemed to have caused a contingent effect on the Sanctum, and it was tearing itself apart. Parker grabbed what he could, and fled. Staring at the void where the Sanctum had once stood, Parker gripped his trophies proudly. The Cloak of Levitation, and Amulet of Agamotto. Mantles of the Sorcerer Supreme. His now. Proud testament to his rise in station. It would be weeks before he discovered the Amulet was empty, the Eye of Agamotto missing. Still, he was the foremost skilled arcanist left in the world to his knowledge. The decision to break into the old Customs Warehouse seemed like a perfectly good one at the time. Destitute and starving, Parker and his older cousin saw potential for gain; Agents of the King Pin were offering a lucrative Finders Fee if anyone could secure any worthwhile merchandise. Of all the things they expected they might find within, never would either of them had ever have guessed a Demon might be among them.
No. They'd expected something much more mundane. Something believeable. Dust laden shelves, Empty Crates, Old rat chewed ledgers, termite infested furniture, a hobo or three. Only in their wildest dreams would they stumble across items that might be fenced. Even the notion of something terrifyingly realistic like a mutant wasn't on the radar.
To say the pair were rendered inert with shock and horror would be an understatement.
The sound of gunfire broke the moment. Parker looked to his left, his cousin had drawn out a pistol and opened fire on the monstrosity. For such teremity, the boy was rewarded by having his arms and legs ripped free and tossed aside as trash.
Parker vividly recalls falling to his knees and vommiting. Through tear-blurred eyes he saw his gun had slid a few feet away, well beyond reach. Something in the back of his mind whispered that it was useless anyways. He looked up to find the demon regarding him calmly. Studying him. Parker somehow met the creatures eyes. Somehow, there he found a resolve; A courage. He rose to his feet again, and faced the demon proudly.
Only when the demon fell dead before him, did Parker notice the wounds.
As expected, Parker found nothing in his numb-minded search of the warehouse. Unwilling to leave empty handed, he did remove the demon's thick read hooded cloak and took it for his own. Odd fashion aside, it was thick and would undoubtedly keep him warm through the winter. It might not be food, or something with which to earn money... but it was something.
Upon donning the cloak, a voice whispered into his mind. It whispered a single word. A name. NISANTI.The Hood Rising...
Over the next week, the Cloak would whisper more than that. It told of it's origins, having been crafted by an Elder Being of vast power called Dormammu. It spoke of what it was capable of... and those capabilities were what inspired Parker more than anything.
Via his cloak, Parker was able to turn invisible at will. An amazing feat, that when coupled with his cunning mind and gifts of stealth, allowed him to manipulate his way through the lower dregs of NYC's criminal underworld. Within weeks he was able to form his own gang, months later, he was a nororious Crime Lord called 'The Hood' by colleagues and law enforcement agencies alike.
For his part, Parker reveled in his newfound wealth and prestige. It was nearly a year before boredome began to settle in, and he learned a new trick. Proximity with the Nisanti Cloak had gifted him in other ways. Latent senses within him were awoken, and he found himself able to sense the proximity of Magical Items and even creatures.
Such things became a new obsession. No dollar or resource was spared as he began to obsessively hunt down and collect such mystical artifacts. This invariably lead to numerous conflicts with owners and foreign governments alike... but at the end of each day, his collection (and thus his power base) continued to expand. As one might expect, a quickly rising reputation as the worlds preeminent Arcane Thief drew the attention of the Sorcerer Supreme. Trials and Offers...
It came to pass that oppertunities to lay hands upon magical artifacts came to conflict with the management of The Hood's syndicate. When forced to make such choices, more and more often he gave into his obsession. Such choices began to cost him the support of his minnions. Internal strife grew, and eventually, the Criminal Empire Parker had forged began to crumble around him.
As frustration mounted, Parker grew restless. When finally a coupe was raised, Parker opted to vanish and take his acquisition adventures abroad. He'd learned what he could from the various tomes he'd unearthed, and was more Adept than Novice by this point. Of the artifacts in his vault, most were overlarge to move or provided little use save sentimental value. So with naught but his mind, skill, and Nisanti Cloak, Parker moved through Europe as a man posessed.
Parker couldn't claim true surprise when most leads turned out to be dead ends. Competition for such secrets was far greater in the East, given a more open minded approach to supersition than the average American held.
Stories of War erupting in North America fell upon uncaring ears where Parker was concerned. It was the home of his past, and didn't seem to hold much bearing upon his future.
Finally, Parker heard rumors of an ancient repository hidden away in Tibet, and subsequently he spent every last penny in his posession to secure transportation.
The trek through the wilds to the hidden monastary was filled with peril of sorts to ensure only the worthy might find their way... and find his way Parker did. The Ancient One was no dabble or novice, and detected the intruders presense immediately. Recognizing tell-tale signature of the Nisanti Cloak it was a simple effort for the Sorcerer Supreme to locate Parker and confine him within Crimson Bands of Cyttorak.
For days Parker was held captive in a tiny cell, bereft of window or door. The room was furnished simple with a small cot and an old television set. Food appeared three times a day, magically. Not a single spell in Parker's repoirte proved sufficient to free him from his cell.
On the fifth day, he turned the television on.
It got one channel~ a Brittish News Agency, reporting on the 'Rise of Apocalypse' in North America. Semingly on que, the Ancient One appeared shortly after. His introduction was curt and polite. He asked a great many questions regarding how Parker had come across the Nisanti Cloak, his life, and his thoughts on the news stories regarding current events in America.
Seemingly pleased with the answers, The Ancient One went on to explain his role in the Universe, as the Sorcerer Supreme of their Dimension. Guardian against Greater Evils and Extradimensional Threats beyond mankinds wildest imagination. He extrapolated on the good works that he'd done, and what his Duty to the world was. He continued on to mention his guilt over being unable to help Earth in this time of need due to his position as Sorcerer Supreme. Finally, he made Parker an offer.
The Ancient One admitted to having been observing Parker from a distance for some time, as one of many potential candidates for this offer. He was old, and far from getting any younger. He would one day need a successor. While such a time was some ways off as of yet, the world needed men of ability and vision not tied down by Duty. The Ancient One offered to train Parker as a potential successor, provided that in the interim he turn his skills towards aiding mankind in this darkest of hours.
Unable to resist the lure of power, Parker agreed. His training commenced.The Treacherous Apprentice...
As time passed, and the cullings in America began in earnest, Parker was encouraged to utilize his abilities in vigilante fashion, passing through pre-arranged portals into America and back as needed.
Parker found the arrangement suitable for a time. Until, that is, he noticed his Master holding back. Keeping secrets, knowledge, and spells to himself. Further, as the world began to succumb to Apocalypse's regiem, Parker began to doubt their ability to ever fight back the tide; Especially if The Ancient One adhered to his policy of noninvolvement. To Parker's mind, his Duty should be to CHOOSE a side and Champion it rather then let each side tear the world apart.
So he did what seemed natural. Parker made a choice, and then he made a deal with the enemy. Or Enemies, rather.
The Shadow King was a scary being, and well was it known even in the occult circles that he now ruled the Astral Plane with near impunity. Few, if any, beings dared risk his domain any more save for the Sorcerer Supreme himself and a handful supernatural creatures potent enough to give the Shadow King pause.
It was with the Shadow King that Parker struck his first accord. Just as The Shadow King was granted sole stewardship over the psychic realms by Apocalypse, Parker would be Apocalypse's 'Arcane Agent'~ It would fall to him to police, sieze, and take care of any metaphysical threats to Apocalypse's sovereignty. His abilities would likewise be put to whatever use the Highlord so desired, when he desired them, without question. In exchange? Survival.
A position in the 'New Order' secured, Parker turned his attention next to removing his competition. If he was to be the worlds foremost practitioner of magic, as he'd claimed he already was to the Shadow King, then he'd need to remove the current Sorcerer Supreme and take the mantle for his own.
To that end, he'd need an edge. Parker had learned early of the Elder Power known as Dormammu, and his ties to the Nisanti Cloak. Further, he knew the dark being held a personal grudge against the Ancient One... and that The Ancient One greatly feared the threat that Dormammu posed to the world. Dormammu was an easy choice as such. Dormammu seemed unsurprised by Parker's request for an audience, and seemed to know Parker far better than any other-dimensional being should (leading Parker to suspect himself a pawn in a MUCH larger scheme of Dormammu's) The two worked out a devious plan, that involved a coordinated assault on the Dimensional Wards protecting Earth from beyond by Dormammu, Zarathos, and Cthon.
As promised, at the annointed hour, Parker palmed the golden Power Gem from Earth's Warding Tablet. At this signal, the assembled Dark Powers launched an assault of unprecidented tenacity against Earth's Dimensional Wards. Sensing the assault, but not it's cause, the Sorcerer Supreme entered into a deep meditation so as to bolster the failing safeguards and repair them if possible... trusting in his Apprentice to safeguard his body. Thus, there was nothing stopping Parker from using his stolen Hellfire Shotgun to incinerate the defensless and empty vessel.
Trapped in the Astral, and severed from his body, it would only be a matter of time before the old man would die... IF the Shadow King didn't kill him first. Parker had no doubt that The Ancient One would spend the majority of his energy and efforts to repair the damaged wards, leaving him easy prey for the nefarious mutant telepath. Self-Sacrifice was intrinsic to the old mans nature. If he were foolish enough to flee the Astral, then one of the Three Dark Powers were waiting with baited breath in hopes of stealing his soul away.
Much to his surprise, Parker found himself in near earthquake conditions. The Ancient One's death seemed to have caused a contingent effect on the Temple, and it was tearing itself apart.
Parker grabbed what he could, and fled.Sorcerer Supreme and Arcane Trouble-Shooter for Apocalypse...
Staring at the void where the Sanctum had once stood, Parker gripped his trophies proudly. The Cloak of Levitation, and Amulet of Agamotto. Mantles of the Sorcerer Supreme. His now. Proud testament to his rise in station.
It would be weeks before he discovered the Amulet was empty, the Eye of Agamotto missing.
Still, he was the foremost skilled arcanist left in the world to his knowledge. His own Nisanti Cloak had merged with the Cloak of Levitation, his skill in magic was growing, and the Hellfire Shotgun he'd taken from the vanquished Vengeance (Michael Badilino) were all potent assets that ensured he earned his keep in the High Lords service.
Of his arrangements with Dormammu, Parker is still in the creatures debt despite their mutual gain. While the Amulet of Agamotto MIGHT afford him a modicum of protection should he deign to argue that matter, he's not so foolish as to think he's capable of combatting such a power bereft of the missing Eye of Agamotto. That would need found. Sooner, rather than later.

Once they might have claimed that they did, but such idle boasts were surrendered to long ago as Rings began to select beings that fit criteria but were not all forseen. The most recent of such, and perhaps the most unexpected, Andrew Michaels. An Orphan Child from the backwater planet called Earth... Andrew is by and far the youngest being ever selected by a Ring in recorded history. When first he stepped foot on Oa, the Guardians believed the Ring to be faulty in some fashion to have selected one so young. A battery of tests revealed the child to be not without skill, yet woefully unprepared for the mantle of Green Lantern and it's accompanying responsibilities. A great deliberation ensued. As a result, Andrew was officially granted a Probationary Status within the Corps. In addition to normal training, he would be mentored by the best the Corps had to offer. Strictures would of course be placed upon him, and his growth would be monitored quite closely. Even the smallest hints of unworthiness would be all it would take to inspire a re-vote that would assuredly not go in his favor. In various interviews with the Green Lanterns assigned Mentor Duty, Andrew has been described as: Extremely Creative, Strangely Clever for a Human, a Breath of Fresh Air, Mildly Annoying, Rash, Foolish, A Prankster, Pure of Heart, and Destined For Great Things. Realizing that one day his beauty will fade, Dorian (whimsically) expresses a desire to sell his soul to ensure the portrait Basil has painted would age rather than he. Dorian's wish is fulfilled, plunging him into debauched acts. The portrait serves as a reminder of the effect each act has upon his soul, with each sin displayed as a disfigurement of his form, or through a sign of aging. The novel of course ends with Dorian's death, but in truth this was just the beginning of a new and never printed chapter of Dorian's life. Condemned to return, fully healed and whole, Dorian found that death was denied him. Even the painting was restored to it's grotesque state and unmarred from the damage he'd inflicted upon it. It would be years before Dorian learned the truth. He was indeed immortal, and to remain blessed with the countenance and virility of a man in his twenties. No death inflicted would be lasting, nor damage to the painting pervasive. It has been posited by a learned and trusted colleague, that only be embracing a life of selfless righteousness can Dorian cleanse the painting and one day find eternal rest... but such actions are in direct conflict with every fiber of Dorian's being. Mal is one such individual. In the days before the Great Floods, great beings known as Nephilim roved the lands. Hailed as Giants among Men and Heroes of The People. Fathered by Angels and birthed by Mortals, they were intended to wage the war that Angels themselves were forbidden. For a time, the strategy worked. The Nephilim rised as Champions of The People, and took the battle to The Adversary in a manner unprecedented. In awe of their might, Man grew to fear and mistrust their heroes. Soon, Nephilim inspired the adage: "Die A Hero, Or Live Long Enough To Be Seen As Another Enemy". How or why is a matter for speculation, but Mankind eventually grew to mistrust their Heroes. They turned upon them. Some took extremest measures towards the Nephilim, and in their defense, the Nephilim spilled innocent blood. The ensuing wars corrupted many souls of Mortal and Nephilim alike. The Angels cried out to God for an intervention, lest their children inadvertently destroy the very world they sought to save. The strife did not end until The Great Flood; The Cataclysmic Purge cleansed the world of the Nephilim. Of those who survived, accountings are vague. It is suggested that they carry on their battles still to this day, only from the shadows now. Of Nephilim born since, few survive their age of majority. Hunted from the moment of their birth by enemies from either side of the spectrum, the existence of a Nephilim is one of the most lonely imaginable. Those Nephilim who do survive long enough, are often so entrenched in their experiences that they fall to the corruptive manipulations of The Adversary... and become instead weapons for the Enemy. The one of most importance to the tale of Malvery, would be his mother... and Church Records do indeed exist to verify it's occurrence. Cathleen WilhelmMalvery's mother was hand-selected. A woman of virtue, raised within a secret order of 'Hunters' within the Catholic Church. Cathleen has been labeled a modern paragon; A Valkyrie of the Lord so to speak. Born and raised within the Vatican, much like her son she knew her calling from the moment she was of sufficient age to be made to understand. She was infamous in Europe, an expert within her field; Labeled as Best of the Best... It was she they called when things were at their worst. Never did she turn from her duty, nor turn from those in need. When immaculate conception came upon her, she accepted her unspoken charge... Such innovations were made all the more miraculous, being privy to his fathers innovations at Stark Industries. In the early 90's, his father became reclusive. Work took a precedence that really hurt their relationship. When his mother left, James blamed his father. Despite having graduated a year early, and at the top of his class, James lost all interest in collegiate opportunities or his child-hood dreams of one day working alongside his father in the prestigious R&D department at Stark Industries. Highly competitive offers of the best education money could buy via Stark Industries Scholarships were laid before him... but James turned his back on them, as something he just no longer desired. Instead, he enlisted in the US Navy. By the end of his first tour, he'd fast-tracked himself into the SEAL's program. As seemingly unrealistic as such aspirations might be considered... he'd managed to impress all the right people~ All through his own merit, something he was very adamant about ensuring. Still more surprising, was his pursuit of a degree in Advanced Weapons Engineering. In 2005, James was one of two surviving members of the spear-head recon force in Operation Red Wings. Critically wounded, his presence and consequent survival of the infamous action were later classified for undisclosed reasons. After a year of physical rehabilitation, it was deemed that he'd never have full range of motion in his arms again. Medical Boards convened to determine the future of his career given this minor physical impediment. Four appeals later, he lost his rating. On the verge of requesting a full discharge, his CO came to him with an offer. The Department of Defense had recently brokered a deal with Tony Stark, a man of James' acquaintance. As part of this deal, a dedicated liaison position had been created to correspond directly with their R&D. Given his record, and current intents, they were offering him a commission if he'd accept the position. A commission would enable him to retain an official SEAL designation if not his specific job, as the Officer side of the spectrum held a different description and subsequent requirements and options. Forty-Eight hours later, James accepted the position. At the very worst, it would be three years... and he could put in for an in-job transfer and again see action alongside his fellow SEALS. The first three weeks were turbulent, as he and his father sought to re-establish a working dynamic. Tony was... Tony, albeit surprisingly benevolent and nice. James found himself begrudgingly liking the man for more than just his heroic alter-self. A month later, James was shown footage of a so called 'counter-terrorism action' deemed highly classified (referred to only as the 'Asgardian Incident' behind closed doors). In the seemingly impossibly footage, James witnessed the event which had actually inspired Tony's willingness to bring a Liaison onboard in an official full-time capacity. He'd been seriously injured for the first time since donning the Iron Man armor. Invincible Iron Man Armor or not, being hit with an Uru Plated Fist can shatter ribs easily enough. In taking on the Liaison, Tony had acquiesced to restarting a handful of Defense Development Programs. In exchange, he'd been given the remnants of the alien automotan that he and the being called Thor had vanquished before the Asgardian returned to his home... whatever. The automotan had been sufficiently potent to stand up to Iron Man and Thor combined. Tony felt it held precisely the sort of tech that would be needed in the days to come. Worried that for all his good intentions and pretty words, Thor might merely be the 'exception' rather than the 'norm' of Asgardian intentions towards Earth... James Sr. has since been working tirelessly to create the Thunderstrike suit. A suit designed to be the successor to Iron Man in the coming months, provided an agreeably trustworthy candidate could be mutually identified between Stark Industries and the DoD. It had come as no surprise to the Joint Chiefs, that Tony's nomination would be his Godson and Heir Apparent...
