You guys kept talking abou Christopher Reeve being the best Superman, but really- what is the other choice? The new guy from Returns (who name I dont even remember) and Smallvile teenager. Of course, you could count those from old TV shows, but they're not Adam West, none of them had any charm to leave a lasting impression. So yeah, Reeve wins by default. Unless you prove me wrong and tell me of different Supes out there (animated series/movies dont count).

Brandon Routh (Superman Returns, admittedly no better than Reeves, but bad for different reasons) Dean Cain (far better than Reeves, IMO) I cannot believe you're blowing off George Reeves. That guy had all kinds of charisma, and did an excellent (for that era) Superman. Despite his personal tragedies, I'll take George over Christopher any day of any week. But for me, the best "on screen" Superman of all time is Tom Welling. You can blow him off as "Smallville teen Superman" or whatever, but when it comes to playing Superman, he "got it" in a way no other actor ever has. Plus he has a great look. You also can't discount animated versions. The DCAU Supeerman (like a lot of his DCAU counterparts) is the most solid non-comic version of Supes ever.

Comeon now, you only threw that in because Playah said to prove him wrong... ;D Actually, I think you're 100% on that -- the DCAU Supes was probably the best all around!

The DCAU did something the comic books haven't been able to, for the most part; told a coherent story with consistent representations of the various characters involved. It doesn't seem like it should be too much to ask, but apparently it is.
On a side note; apparently Superman punches Green Lantern through a wall in the new Justice League 1. Awesome.

That reminds of this cover where Superman punches Lex Luthor through a brick wall while Lex commented that Superman could still punch.

I'm really looking forward to this one. Any idea when it comes out? I have a subscription...
