THE WAR BEGINS

The siren call came from Central Park. For weeks the area was the source of powerful alien energy probes that shorted detection devices and affected the superior senses of Spider-Man and Professor X^TM. Then a massive alien construct, a high-tech "Stonehenge," appeared in the midst of the Sheep Meadow in Central Park. Your heroes were drawn to the structure, entered it...and were gone.

You reappeared in the depths of space near an alien galaxy, within a construct similar to the one that kidnapped you.

Spider-Man was no stranger to the random odd event, but this was out there even by his standards. He looked around the room, curious about the new surroundings, and attempting to remain alert for the danger that he was certain was on it's way.

Well... that was relatively painless as kidnappings go!

Magnus, after taking in his surroundings, quickly meets his "company" with narrowed eyes.

"I, for one, have the distinct feeling that my presence is unwanted." he said to the heroes gathered, especially to his fellow mutants "Given our shaky history."

This was not a good day for him. Outnumbered AND stranded in the middle of god-knows-what. Sure, he was the Master of Magnetism: Alpha, nearly Omega-level mutant bent on uniting his race against the bigotry of humanity at large...but in this type of environment, those distinctions alone can only get one so far.

The Hulk is awestruck. This seems to be too much for him to even comprehend! What is this? What is going on? He can sense he's not alone. He awkwardly put's his hands out to his side, hoping to not hurt anyone with his enormous strength. As the Hulk gets his bearings he realizes at that he's surrounded by others with power. Last he remembered, he was on his way to save Kate and discovered this strange, alien light. Now he's here! Did you walk through the same edifice as I, Webhead? I believe upon entering said edifice we experienced a possible reduction, maybe on a sub-atomic level. We were reduced to proto-matter and stored. We were then reassembled here, within what seems to be a self-generating life-support environment! The Hulk is more or less thinking out loud at this point, but is interrupted by a surprise guest! MAGNETO! Now, granted, the Hulk understands 'shaky history', but Banner has read about this mutant. He's a MURDERER! The Hulk let's his emotions get the better of him. What's this slime-ball doing here? The Hulk gets ready for a fight.

"Where the hell am I" Wolverine seemed to blurt out upon arriving wherever the heck he was. Thanks to his senses, most notably smell, he was able to identify those around him faster than just looking around. And then he saw him...."Grrr"

People usually think of Logan as brash but in certain situations, he can be as planning and calculating as the best of them. This, unfortunately, was not one of those times.

Wolverine lunges at Magneto and brings his fist just underneath Magneto's chin ready to unleash his claws "You've got 5 seconds to explain what's going on or your Brotherhood will have to clean what's left of you off the walls"

An identical device hovers nearby. Initial probing indicates that it contains evil beings: the deadly Doctor Doom, the futuristic Kang the Conqueror, the Asguardian Enchantress, the mad robot Ultron, Spider-Man's foes Lizard and Doctor Octopus, the powerful Molecule Man and Absorbing Man, the Wrecking Crew, and the enigmatic Galactus.

Whoa! Hold your horses Wolverine! Spider-Man's instinct was to jump between Wolverine and Magneto, but those claws were deadly. Looks like we've got bigger problems than old Iron Underoos there! We need to find out what's going on before we start throwing punches, so unless those claws have keen deductive skills, put 'em away for the time being?

He turned to Magneto, Assuming you're going to play nice for now?

"Flame on!!!" shouted Johnny Storm as he shot up into the air, still trying to figure out what had happened!

He looked about, saw the assembled people and instantly recognised close friends and those who were only acquaintances. Indeed, more than one had been a foe of the Fantastic Four at one time or another!

"Hey Web-Head! No idea what's going on here but it's bound to be your fault somehow! Stand back! I'll separate those two not-so-hot-heads!" he yelled and circled near the ceiling before blasting a fiery wall between Magneto and Wolverine!

"Now what say everyone calms down and takes a minute to figure out what's going on - especially as another doohickey like this one just popped out of nowhere nearby and has people I'm sure we all have a grudge against - even more than short, hairy and angry and ol' Maggy there!"

Human Torch remains out of hand reach. Iron Man he was ok with, Spider-man more than that... but these others? Hulk was... well, the Hulk. He still couldn't get over Bruce Banner talking from the huge green form. The others - mutants - well, he wasn't sure where he stood with them. If you believed everything the press said...

He glanced down. If he did that, then Spider-Man would be his enemy and not near enough his best friend. Not that he'd ever let the web-head in on that!

"Yo Webs! There's at least one of mine, and two of your enemies on that thing over there! And Galactus? Man, he's EVERYONES enemy, make no mistake on that!" Johnny Storm called out. "Whatever is going to happen, I hope it don't come down to some kind o fist fight, cause it'll be a first round KO unless we can somehow work together against those guys!"

ACTIONS

Use Fire Generation and Flame Control to make and maintain a fiery wall (of only Excellent 20 Intensity rather than Amazing 50) between Magneto and Wolverine. For sure, they can move around it and he won't stop them if they really want to go at it, but he figures he can do a better job than Spider-Man of keeping the peace... If attacked he will maintain a defensive stance. He's a hothead, but not an idiot!

This is quickly becoming out of hand. We have metal claws, coming at a Master of Magnetism and then a flaming wall? Inside a self-contained environment? Floating in space! Ironically the Hulk must get the ball rolling. Maybe his initial insult was unfair and obviously it didn't help. Now, with the revelation of the villains, who exactly do we have to work with here? Everybody relax! I'm not sure if Adamantium claws, Magnetism or fire is good for our environment. We are in space after all. we need to keep our heads! We have dancing partners four o' clock high. Maybe it's best we figure out who WE are! I'll start! I am, of course, the Hulk.

You barely have time to understand your surroundings before a great wave sweeps through the sky, extinguishing the stars before it like dust before a massive hand. In less than a moment, all that is left of the galaxy is the twin constructs and a single sun.

Your constructs rush toward that single sun, and you witness the creation of a planet, made of bits and pieces of other worlds far from the destroyed galaxy. The pieces of other planets cool to form a single mass and all is quiet.

Matchstick, what'd you do this time? Spidey shot a joke at his old friend. He wasn't one to be at a loss for words, but even he had to admit that this was pretty amazing... on the other hand, it was also incredibly dangerous. The villains awaiting them on the other side weren't the sort to be scoffed at for the most part... Well except for Ock... he muttered to himself, not realizing that he was speaking his musings aloud.

He had been quiet, even through the unfriendly atmosphere and shifting atmosphere. In reality, Magneto was awestruck. Never in his decades of life had he been part of something so enormous...beyond him, beyond the mutant race, beyond Earth...

His show of nonviolence should be clear enough for the heroes assembled to grasp. However, if push comes to shove, Magnus will put these lowly crime-fighters (and anyone else foolish enough) in their place.

Although the invincible Iron Man looked as formidable as ever, the man currently inside the familiar red-and-gold armour was beginning to feel out-of-his-depth. Rhodey was still getting used to his new role and the capabilities of the battlesuit at his disposal, but now he had found himself in a mind-bending situation that was literally out of this world! He was as alarmed as everyone else to see that the notorious Magneto was aboard their craft, when it seemed like he would be far more 'at home' on the other construct carrying a who's who of dangerous villains. But before Iron Man had time to even consider powering-up his repulsor rays, he was utterly distracted by the awesome display of a planet being formed before his eyes!

"If anybody knows what's going on... or what could be capable of something like THAT... I'd love to hear some explanations.  If not, and I can't quite believe I'm saying this, but I think the Hulk might have the right idea.  We should figure out exactly who's been brought along for this crazy ride.  So as far as introductions go, just in case anyone doesn't recognise the suit... I'm Iron Man."

"Everybody knows us, because we're the mighty Avengers, and we're famous!" says a bubbly brunette, who looks quite attractive to Magneto's eyes. "But, just in case, I'm the Wasp, and with me are the She-Hulk, Captain Marvel, Captain America, Thor, and Hawkeye!"

"I am Professor X, these are my X-Men," says a bald man in a wheelchair, "Storm, Nightcrawler, Rogue, Cyclops, Wolverine and Colossus!"

"And Lockheed, the dragon!" adds Colossus. [OOC: shenron, who still hasn't posted yet.]

"We're the Fantastic Four minus Suzie -- the Invisible Girl to you!" says the orange rocky Thing. "Stretcho calls himself Mister Fantastic, if you can believe that! This crumb's the Human Torch...and I'm the Easter Bunny!"

Then, before Spider-Man can introduce himself, a rift appears in space, emitting a light outshining the lone sun. A voice, alien beyond human comprehension speaks:

Somehow, you know that the alien voice speaks the truth.

The great Galactus, eater of worlds, challenges the Beyonder^TM, Doctor Doom follows in his wake. They are swatted away like insects, falling toward the planet. Then the rift closes, and the Beyonder is gone.

Wolverine was shocked to see so many other villians in the room and was glad he had a hulk on his side , even though most of the times they met ended with him having all his bones broken.

When things seemed like they wouldn't get any more hectic, Logan had the pleasure of witnessing the creation of a planet and was completely overwhelmed even if he wouldn't show it.

Then he witnessed Galactus, one of the most powerful beings he has ever heard of being swatted aside like flies.

He felt as though he was way in over his head...
