Captain America is right. The Octodroid is less interested in attacking him and instead targets the condominiums. A shower of debris falls toward the downed heilicopter. Fortunately, the Thing is there to block the soldiers as their meta-human shield. They all make it to safety.
To safety is definately not the direction that the heroine Captain Marvel is heading. Converting herself into an infrared heat blast she rockets herself at the robot's foot, just as it lifts up to step over the electrical livewire set in it's way. The panel on the sole of the Octodroid's foot heats up, but it does not give.
Captain America now has his shield, and the fate of New York City now hinges on what he does with it next.

Captain Marvel shifts from infrared to X-ray to pass inside through the plate. Once inside she converts to electricity.

seeing Captain Marvel head for the giant robot makes Captain America want to run after her... She had taken allot of hits an he feared she might get killed... But she seemed to have a plan, still involving the hatch on the robots leg... So instead of trying to hinder her, Captain America decided to help her as best he could... "Captain Marvel, Im gona trie and give you a opening... Do your Best to Bring that menace down..."

Captain America keeps the Octodroid off balance long enough for Captain Marvel to slip through the trapdoor in it's foot. Once inside, she shocks it's leg. Off-balance the Octoroid stomps right down on the exposed electrical cable and gets shocked again!
ZZZZZAPPPPPPP!
The Thing returns from rescuing the chopper crew just in time to see his cable shake up the Octodroid. The metal monstrosity now looks shaken, but it's not out for the count yet. Not by a long shot!

It looked like Captain Marvel was able to get inside the robot... He wasent sure what she was trying to do in there, but he had to wait and see...

*Ben was nearly exhausted. It was turning out to be a long day. His muscles were a little sore now from protecting the pilots of the chopper, but at least they were somewhat safe now.
But now they still had to do something about the giant tin can. The voltage in the wires wasn't enough to stop it, but it did look a bit shaken. Perhaps one of the others had found a way to get inside the thing. Or to stop it.*
( Not doing any action other then moving to meet up with the others.)

Yet again, Captain America deflects energy blasts from the Octodroid with his shield. Yet again the giant robot bellows, "This is the voice of Doctor Octopus..." Yet again the monsters four tentacles demolish buildings. It's a good thing Spider-Man is not here. He demands more creativity from his super-menaces.
Captain America and the Thing, can do little more than watch from the sidelines as this metal behemoth marches on. Captain Marvel, however, is inside leg, moving up to the automaton's waist as a being of microwave energy. It's dark around her. All she can see is a few lit up circuit boards along the inner walls of the robot. She can't see outside, but if she could, she'd know that this "Day of the Octopus" has come full circle.
The Octodroid now approaches the Krupp Building!

Captain America had no idea what Captain Marvel was doing inside the robot, but it looked like it was doing something to it... Now, he could just hope whatever it was, it would be enough, cause all Thing and Cap America could do was smash at its hard exterior...

The interior of the Octodroid's groin crackles with electrical energy. However, besides having a lit up "package" between it's legs (thanks to Captain Marvel) the robot continues on down it's path of destruction as if nothing was wrong.
Captain America runs forward to chase after the Octodroid and gives it a good thrashing with his adamantium shield. This the giant robot takes notice of!
It's four huge tentacles whip down towards Captain America... but not before Cap's shield can return to his hands to deflect the attack.
BOOM!!!
"By my sweet Aunt Petunia," the Thing can't help but think as the sound of the tentacles clashing against shield reverberate to his ears, a little more than a block away.

Captain Marvel is getting nowhere. She's wounded and tried and out of energy. She transforms into x-rays and escapes from the robot. She lands outside and hopes to get a breather and therefore build up some energy.
